How long for reduction to settle?

Re: How long for reduction to settle?

Thank you browneyes and Libby, I now realise I'm being far too impatient.
I need to give the op a few more months before I get my 'matching pair'

Re: How long for reduction to settle?

Jude Sorry that you have not had any responses so far.
My experience is a bit diff from yours.
I had quadranectomy (Generous WLE) and a 2nd WLE for better margins. This left me with asymmetry between the 2 breasts.
I had reduction and uplift to good side and a complete reshaping of affected side in Jan this yr.
My 'good' side is very soft an sits v. slightly lower now than the affected side which is affected by fat necrosis. But overall is massively better than before.
I think the lowering of the 'good' side has been gradual and certainly 10 wks on from op all has settled. I think that it was about 6 wks when this had been achieved
So perhaps 2 wks a bit soon but can really understand your anxiety about this

Re: How long for reduction to settle?

Hi Scone, I had a reduction at the same time as a DIEP at the end of August last year. I remember looking at the reduction side thinking that it looked odd as there didn't appear to be any flesh under the nipple and was quite upset by the look of it. I can't remeber when it actually happened, but know that at for at least for the last three months the breast had dropped and there is a good amount of flesh underneath the nipple and it looks like a boob to be really proud of. x

Hello Ladies

Can anyone out there give me some info regarding my post above as I've not had any responses yet.
Just concerned as my reduction is still very high, anyone who has had a reduction can you let me know please how long it took for it to drop and settle?
I'd be so grateful for any of your comments.

How long for reduction to settle?

Hello Ladies

I had a 2nd fat transfer to a previous LD recon without impant and a reduction to good breast 2 weeks ago.
very pleased with results so far. My reduction is sitting very high, higher than the recon/fat transfer side. My PS said he always does the reductions higher as they do drop after about 6 weeks.
The reduction is still swollen and feels hard compared to recon side - can anyone who has had same op let me know please, when does the reduction soften and 'drop'.
