How long to wait?
How long to wait? Hi, I have had several lumpectomies when I was 25 - 27 years of age. Over the years I had so much fibroidenomas, and abnormal cysts in both my breasts, along with leaking nipples that when I was 35 we decided to go for bilateral prohylactical mastectomy with immediate recon using tissue expander, this unfortunately was unsuccessful, and we replace it with tear drop implants, they were fine until last year they got severely infected in both sides. I had them immediately removed and left ‘flat’, they removed my nipples shortly after as they were still leaking and infected.
I now wear two self adhesive prosthesis, and am getting on fine with them.
My last visit to the consultant for a check up, they found a lump the size of a grape, where my right nipple was, it is irritating my prosthesis, but only sore if you touch it. My consultant doesnt know what it is, he didnt offer any needle tests etc, he just said that he would remove this and test it. I have been waiting for this to be done now over 12 weeks, even though he put it down for soon appointment and under local anaesthetic day case.
I am worried as to what it is, and why it is there, when there isnt anything there.
How long should I wait for this, and reasssurance that it isnt anything to worry about. ?
