I'm dreaming of a PINK Christmas

Dear all,
this year has been horrendous for my family. My mum was dx with secondary BC before the primary BC was found and is very poorly and we’ve Just been told my sisters BC may have returned. There are now 6 family members affected and I feel powerless to help. This Christmas song to white Christmas came into my head. My way of showing support to my family and all of you:

I’m dreaming of a pink Christmas

Where there is breast cancer no more

With no families crying

Or loved ones dying

Coz we’ve finally found a cure

I’m praying for a pink Christmas

A day when it’s preventable

A breast cancer vaccine-just think?

Until then may all our Christmas’s be pink

Have a peaceful Christmas and God bless

Mals

Bump as its not showing on new posts

Lovely Mals. Brought a lump to my throat.

Mandy, what lovely words. You are having a really tough time, as I guess all our relatives are whilst we fight this awful disease. My so strong daughter broke down Christmas morning as she whispered to me ‘it will be alright wont it Mum?’, we cried together.
i do hope you find the strength to help your family through this.
take care

Thanks Kay,
adversity brings out the best in all of us. Despite having to battle this dreadful illness your daughter has her priorities right: not worrying about Christmas presents or whether the turkey is cooked to perfection but whether everything is ok. This year certainly has made me put all the trivialities of Christmas into perspective. The good news is that my sister was offered a cancellation and saw her BC specialist on the Friday before Christmas who gave her the all clear so we all breathed a sigh of relief. My mum is not so good but is fighting on. I think the reason white Christmas came into my head is because its a song full of hope and that’s all we have to cling on to: hope. Hope you all had a peaceful Christmas and may our Christmas prayers and hopes all come true. Love, hope, believe. Mals xxx

Hi all,
It’s a year on since I wrote this post but the sentiments are still there more than ever. I lost my mum in July and will be spending the first Christmas in 43 years without her. It’s going to be so hard I just don’t know how I’m going to get through it. My sister is doing well though and no return of her BC so that keeps us going. Hope you all like my song- I remember singing it to my mum last year- perhaps I will sing it to her this year too mals x
