Has anyone had any experience with ice therapy for any IV chemo eg sucking on an ice cube during the transfusion in order to prevent a sore mouth from developing?

Hi I had f e c chemo by injections given by a nurse not an iv.i read beforehand about having cold things to try and prevent a sore mouth.i used to eat an ice lolly as soon as I got home after chemo and I didn’t get a sore mouth really.i was bit late remembering to eat one once and my mouth did get a bit sore then.it is worth a try.ask at chemo unit if you could take ice cubes/lolly in and take them during chemo as I imagine by iv it would take a lot longer than mine did.best wishes Didi
I took a flask with ice cubes to suck on whilst on docetaxol and do the same currently on eribulin. Have never had mouth ulcers or a sore mouth so it seems to work for me.
