Is it even possible?

I’m 18…
About 2/3 years ago, I noticed a lump in my breast. It was… really big, solid, and doesn’t move much.
I was 15/16 at the time, so everyone told me it’d be nothing; now it’s been so long, people are saying “if it was ‘serious’, you’d know for sure by now” (meaning, i’d be really ill or something?) I’ve never seen a GP though… Plus, I’m 18. So, I’m “too young” apparently.
I never noticed growing, i just noticed it there. I’m not sure it’s grown or even moved at all in the last 3 years.
Should I be listening to what people are telling me?
Or should I go see my GP?.. (Not sure i’d even be able too, but that’s not the point really.)
So… yeah. Opinions?..

I will simply quote the eminent specialist who treated my sister-in-law successfully for breast cancer almost twenty years go - “No lady should ever have a lump in her breast.” At your age it’s very unlikely that this lump is anything to worry about ,so stop worrying and go and get it checked. If you don’t you’ll drive yourself silly thinking about it. Get your doctor’s reassurance and you can get on with your life.
Even women who have breast cancer will tell you that the worrying before their diagnosis was worse than anything else.
Get your mum or a friend to go along to give you courage but you know in your heart you can’t go on ignoring something that is disrupting your life like this.
I wish you all the best.
Kathleen

Hi, sorry you are having such a worrying time. Please do go and get it checked, it is very unlikely to be breast cancer at your age but it’s not impossible so it’s really important to find out.

If you go to the doctor’s at best it will stop you worrying and at worst you will be getting the problem dealt with.

Very best wishes,
