Martha and Agnes - all the best for today, girls, extra ice with the cocktails today, it's so hot?
Chelle, Jackie, Joan, Sandra, Emma(melrose), Marion - thanks for all your lovely comments about my Raquel. Went out for a walk last night with OH wearing her and we bumped into a friend we hadn't seen for ages. Up until yesterday, I'd have run the other way to avoid a chat, but felt fine and confident enough to stop and talk. Combo of feeling ok wearing the wig and having OH with me too.
Got friend coming for lunch today, so catch up now before I hoover round and think about what we're going to eat!
Sandra - I'd take Sandy and Lorraine away for the weekend and wear whatever you fancy.
Maybe a sports cap, with something underneath might work for Zumba - I'll experiment - and can drag my daughter along for moral support.
I'm getting so used to having no hair - yesterday just went "naked" round the house because of the heat - I think I'm going to forget and answer the door, pity my postman! At least it will scare away the cold callers.
Emma - ditto re the plain scarves, the patterned ones look good on the head but difficult to match with clothes. Got any good websites for plain scarves that are big enough and are non-slip fabric?
Try Nicola Jane for bras, some Granny ones but some pretty ones too. Also someone mentioned M&S - I got a couple there which are ok. The Cardiff store has very limited stock for the post-surgery range, but the assistant said there was big selection on the website.
Jill - agree re the glasses. I wear occasionally for reading and of course sunglasses too. Have to force them and kind of wedge them under a scarf or cap, but find they press against my head and are not very comfy.
Marion - sorry that the injections giving you such aching bones. 3 days to go is it? then hopefully the aching will cease.
I felt a little vulnerable yesterday out with the wig on every time there was a breeze. Not that it would come off, but that the fringe would blow up and you could see the wig edge. Might go for a couple of hats to wear on top. Anyone got any hats websites they would recommend?
Debs - have lovely day at Hampton Court and melt that card treating yourself.
Cress - proud Mum, a graduation, congrats.
Great idea re the fundraiser, count me in, although I'd prefer a walk to a hill climb!!
Joan - think it was you who said about friend saying that no-one knows when their time is up, BC or no BC. How true and never really thought about that. I have got to try and cherish every day, please all nag me with the positive thinking. I'd be in a really bad place without all of you.
Day 14 of this cycle. Nausea finally went yesterday, 3 good sleeps now and no other SEs ( just the niggly chemo arm, which nurse says is vein irritation and should clear up). Hopefully that's it for this cycle and I can have a normal week, please!!
All have a lovely day,
