Hi Jewels...still not liking this site, you cant scroll through all the mesages once you choose to reply and especially on a phone you cant see half the info or scroll through the pages very easily...
But theres no way we want to split into 2 camps, so definately keep in touch here as well.
Fiona glad to see you back and also having good days again, i take it the foot issues have lessened??. i pm'd you so hopefully all is well.
Marion, oh normal i cant really remember that..hope you feel a bit more like yourself soon. The build up of the poison is bound to knowck us at times we dont expet as well as the "low blood days". Roll on Christmas we should all be past the worst though i know we still have herceptin, tamoxifen and recon to deal with the more negative & invasive stuff should be over.
Nicola and Faye, youre stuck with us whether here or Fbook, we are a team of crazy one boobed women who are taking on the crappiest stuff and winning, the battles are hard but we will win the war, our army of Jewels marching up to York :-).
Well, first tax tomorrow and steroids dont seem to have had an effect yet....will be glad to get it done though, like the first chemo, just want it out the way to the see how i feel.
Well take care lovely friends and hope no-ones struggling too much.
xx
Evening Jewels, just spent a fantastic evening with chelle and cheryl (aug) ended up crying with laughter and god help York next year, So good to meet up face to face and even though we have the worst thing in common the humour and company was great for my wellbeing shame more of us cant meet up in little groups in their area,Finding forum confusing FB easier but will still be about just a lot harder on phone and dont get to laptop that often
Hope everyones doing well as can do and so jealous of those still sporting hair and eyebrows mines mainly all gone except the unwanted variety
Well up at 5 for work so better sort myself out
Goodnight Jewels xx
Glad to know I'm not the only one feeling grumpy. Invited out for tea today and the thought of responding brightly to the 'How are you? question was almost more than I could bear. In the end turned out OK; lots of children from my class who seemed very pleased to see me and didn't ask the question so it got me out of the circle of misery that I had been inhabiting. Definitely getting worse as it goes along though, and I have very little to complain about compared to some of you.
Hot flushes are a nightmare - esp early morning. Generally OK during the day so far. Never had before chemo so definitely related.
Can I make a plea for not decamping to Facebook? Happened on a teaching forum I belong to and once split it was never really the same again. I rely so much on you lot.
Will be thinking of everyone else at bar tomorrow
Nx
Don't like this new forum. Don't know what i'm doing!! Where is everyone?
Becky, Lins, Fiona, Fi, Agnes.......?
Hi Jewels
Chelle -- I'm o.k.. Just been a bit up and down, nothing serious. I've got runny eyes, a spotty face like a 16 year old with acne, and just spent the best part of 2 days in the loo which has left me rather weary. Feeling fed up. Nearing the end of chemo is good but I think the previous doses have started to catch up with me and I've been a bit down and grumpy. I have kept up with reading the posts though.
We have friends coming on Thusday until Saturday and ED coming on Tuesday next for 1 night which will make me put a smile on my face and get me out of pit of self pity.
York in March should be o.k.. I have checked my diary and it is clear for March. If I'm honest, its clear after next week. Can't wait to be 'normal' again.

Hope all jewels have had a sunny day. Had an eventful day out at Shugborough in Staffordshire, a lovely day punctuated by a little funny turn in Patrick Lichfield's apartment - and lots of tea and lemon drizzle cake to aid recovery. Always takes a week for me to feel vaguely ok again - but just think I overdid it a bit in the heat.
Anyway hope all of you are ok. It is great to see that people will be heading for end of chemo soon (though as one of the 'last' ones, still have a long way to go, don't leave me behind!!).
Ann - having those extra doses as not oestrogen sensitive would make sense wouldn't it. ANd I have had a few hot flushes on chemo (never had them before)- mainly when on my steroids but not always.
love to all

yay managed to get back on. But how confusing is this eh. Although the way I'm feeling anything is confusing lol. How are you all doing those of you that are not on fb.
Deedee xx
Hi re facebook, i have an account but dont know how to get us june jewells need help, thanks x
Hi Anne,
Re the flushes, yes ive had a few only in the last week or so, Onc says its chemo related and will only get worse as the chemo and herceptin will force the menopause upon me. :-(.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Good to hear those of you having rads are getting the info through already. Do you get all the appointments at the same time and can you tell the rad dept what time suits you best?.
Hope some other jewels will join us on face book as this site is not doing it for me the same as it used to lol..mind you as others have said i dont want to lose touch with the Jewels who dont Fbook..
Anyway enjoy the rest of the sunshine, i think theres quite a few of us at the bar this coming week..
xxxx
Hi Joan very sorry to hear that you are in hospital again due to anaemia. Hope you are feeling a bit better today and that you are soon safe at home. Sending you a big hug. Xxxx lets us know how you are when you feel up to it.
Hello Jackiebee,
The QE has been very efficient, just opened today's post and I have a letter for my next appointment with them after I have finished chemo. It is on 25th September and for the measure up, tattoo and appointment planning. My final chemo is scheduled for 12th September, so all in all the hospital seems to be well on the ball and so far the staff I have met are lovely.
I don't know why I am having the extra 8 boosts, Dr at the Alex thought I would have 2 or 3, so I was a bit shocked, but I am not able to have hormone treatment as I am only weakly positive so that may be the reason for the extra frying sessions. I will ask when I see Dr again.
I am glad we are gradually finding our way back onto the forum, I really missed the support. Here comes yet another hot flush, has anyone else found this happening since being on chemo ?
x
Sandra - your heading over to my neck of the woods - Blenheim Palace. I used to live just down the road and enjoyed walking the grounds (although that was over 16 years ago).
Hope everyone is OK and enjoying the BH weekend. Start Tax on Tuesday and not looking forward to it - entering the unknown again.
Had a few glasses of red last night at a work colleagues leaving do. Feeling it today, but looking forward to a chilled out evening and long soak in the bath.
Take care Sparklies xxxx
Chelle hav sent you a PM re Facebook. Thx xx
Ann good to hear from you and glad to hear that you have already had a radiotherapy chat despite not yet finishing chemo- I was worried than in the transition from the Alex to the QE we might fall through the cracks and have a big gap. Sorry to hear youve got more rads than you thought though- did they say why?
Really tired today despite coming off steroids more slowly this time so off for an afternoon snooze. Hope everyone is ok x
Hello ladies,
So pleased to have found you all again, this new forum and chemo mush brain is a struggle. Hope everyone is reasonable. I had FEC 5/6 on Thursday, went ok, steriods giving me the shakes but Emend doing it's job.
Had my first radiation appointment at the QE in Birmingham. Just a general chat, exam/prod about. I was shocked to be told I was to have 23 sessions, comprising of 15 normal sessions of the whole breast followed by 8 boost sessions to the site the tumour was removed from.
Steriods end tomorrow evening and then I will sink into endless tiredness until around Wednesday. At least I can see the end of the chemo now, just hope the rads are easy to cope with.
Ann the windy bald eagle xx
Jayne - (Cassie) - I've added you to the FB group now - the posts will show up in your timeline when you're on FB but only you can see them not any of your friends/family etc. Just remember to post anything under the Jewels group and then it will be completely private
Jackie - can you stand down wind of me please - I can smell you from here (Pharrrp) haha x
I totally agree - would not abandon this forum unless all the Jewels were on FB - we are a team x
Logged back in I think - missed all you non facebookers this week, hope you were all ok?
Am not feeling too bad though INCREDIBLE wind today!! A friend has driven down from yorkshire to take my girls out for the day so I can have an afternoon snooze as I reduce my steroids today and always feel a bit rubbish at this time in the cycle. What a friend she is.
Would be great if the non-facebookers could join our secret group but I will still come on here to keep up with anyone not wanting to do that, would hate to see the group fragment after such amazing support so far. xxx
