I hope you managed to have a nice Christmas day yesterday.
I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad it's hard enough greiving for loved ones but to also be going through Chemo too! You will be half way through and that's brilliant so try and focus on how far you have come and how strong you have been 😉
I'm lucky I managed to have a fairly normal christmas day as I've only had my first chemo I'm waiting for it to get worse. I am starting to ache all over and my bones hurt I wasn't sure if that was just me as I have rheumatoid arthritis but it must be the chemo from what you have said.
Sending you hugs and warm wishes and will be thinking of you on New year's Eve xx
How are you? Hope your doing well and still holding up ☺️
I'm also on EC what toxicity did you get? Did you suffer from constipation? My chemo regime sounds the same as yours 4 EC then changes to 4 t and c but I'm only on my first 1 so far, but like you I will be counting down and will be glad to get to the half way mark!
Sorry for all the questions
Also I hope you manage to have a nice Christmas day XXX
Sorry for the late reply I lost the thread. How are you doing?
I had my first chemo 4 days ago of EC felt like I had a bad hangover when I got home and have been tired but relatively ok but my main concern is constipation I've took some laxatives but I think I may need stronger ones!
How many days in from chemo did your hair start to fall out I tried the cold cap but I'm really not holding any hope as I'm expecting mine to fall out because of the chemo drugs. Did your head tingle I'm already getting head tingles 😞😢
Im like you about my hair I had my long hair cut to just above my shoulders so far and I already miss my long hair I know it's pretty enviable that my hair will go so I have a lovely natural wig on order but because of christmas there's a delay so I'm hoping I manage to get it in time I have got a bandana but I think I will use my wig for when I go outside and brave the world.
As for getting my head around it all I don't think I have fully but I'm taking each stage at a time and I'm going to fight this like we all will
Sending you lots of hugs and support and I hope you manage to have a nice Christmas tomorrow xxx
Hi Chrissy I'm new on here just joined tonight actually! I just spotted your post as I'm in the same situation just been diagnosed with triple negative, I have a large lump and it's in my lymph nodes also so they want to start chemo as soon as possible. Just wondered how you are doing and have you started your chemo? X
I am also TNBC and second that Chemo is usually the option provided for us. Everyone responds differently to the treatement however I have had overwhelming great support from the medical team in conjuction with support from a Maggie's centre.
Maggies has been wonderful in being able to provide emotional support and time and I would recomend popping if you are able to. No appointment is needed and they really helped me clarify things in my head and work out how to appraoch the next step of this journey we find ourselves on. Also very informally I was able to meet in person other indivduals going through treatment. One thing I would say is that as TNBC is less common than other forms of Breast Cancer to factor that in as everyones journey will be very specific to them.
In addition my local Maggies run a nutrition course and there is good advice on the World Cancer Research Site regarding diet and receipies that may also help you while going through Chemo as many people find their tastebuds, mouth sensitivty and appetite can be affected.
Hope this helps a little, x
