Re: Keep smiling

Hi Pauline
Sorry to hear that you're feeling so rough and having such a hard time of things. I've been very fortunate that all during epirubicin and CMF my boods have been very good and I know that I have got away really lightly. I have my 2nd dose of this cycle on Friday and then only one more cycle to go.
I know it's hard to do very little but hopefully this site can help to keep your sanity.

Re: Keep smiling

Hi Nicky (and the rest of my new friends) I am afraid I paid the price for going out to Southport on Wesnesday. I went for chemo yesterday but my bloods were way too low so - no chemo. Apparently I am not tolerating the CMF very well. I have antibiotics for a week and complete rest and if my bloods are no better next week I have to have bone marrow injections for a week. They are also going to reduce my prescription by 10% so hopefully that will make it easier on my body.
Feel a fraud lying in bed all day. Only got up a 6 o'clock because I was fed up of being shut up in my room so I thought I would come downstairs and watch the soaps then I will go back to bed. I can do sick but I can't do ILL.
When you work you think how nice it would be just to lie around all day reading, chatting on the phone, having meals cooked for you but the reality is that when it is forced on you it stinks!!
Anyway enough of me. Nicky I hope you continue to feel ok on CMF. I am just one of the unfortunate ones that it does not suit but maybe that is because I am still not fully recovered from my op last year and because of my age.
Love and hugs to you all

Re: Keep smiling

Hi Pauline
Started my 2nd cycle of CMF today. I went a bit ligght headed as it went in but ok now. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow. My next dose won't be until Friday as I'm having to change chemo units, so don't know if that will reduce SE's. Glad you had a good day out today.

Re: Keep smiling

Thanks Debs. Yes it was a nice suprise going out today and considering hubby is under stress because of his heart op in a couple of weeks it was a nice thing for him to do. We have been married for 40 years on the 31st May but I will have just had my second dose of chemo so I doubt we will do anything special so today was a treat. We would have been going to Memphis and Nashville if all had been well but these bl........ (excuse me)illnesses had to crop up and ruin it all. Still hubby is 65 next year so we will have to make that even more special.
Hopefully if I am ok I will be on live chat tomorrow.
Love Pauline (mommyw)

Keep smiling

Hi all. Silly thing to say but hope you are all keeping as well and positive as possible. Just thought I would let you know that I have had a lovely day today. I go for my second month of chemo tomorrow and not really looking forward to it but when I got up this morning my hubby asked me if I wanted a day out. Well I was not going to say no so we set off at about 10 o'clock and went to Southport. It is about 2 hours from where we live but we had a good journey there and back. It was so nice to breathe in fresh air. It rained by hey who cares. I feel so good for getting out even for a few hours. You can have chemo, feel cr.... and still go out a have a good time. Love and best wishes to you all. Pauline (mommyw)
