Lung mets?

Hi artygirl,

I was diagnosed with lung mets last October after investigation into a prolonged cough which showed a number of small nodules in both lungs. In December it was also confirmed there was some mets in one of my vertebra. (My primary diagnosis was in 2003 so quite a long gap between.) The biopsy showed I was ER and PR positive.

The good news is that since starting hormone treatment (Zoladex and Anastrozole), Denosumab to strengthen my bones and some radiotherapy to my spine, the cancer has not spread further, the nodules in my lungs have shrunk and I'm not coughing any more.

Hi there!
Am new on this site. Just been newly diagnosed grade 2 IDC BC ( er+ her-) and then received the double whammy this morning that an abnormal spot on my pelvis has been found on bone scan (MRI to confirm). The ct scan also showed up a very small nodule on the lung that my ON not too worried about at moment - will monitor through my chemo (had one cycle).
However, despite that, I would really welcome hearing from anyone who had this starting point with lung mets and how they are doing. Forgive me for being so negative - I am naturally upbeat and positive but also someone who needs to investigate all possible scenarios. Thanks so much. I am on bone mets thread as well and have already had some really comforting messages. xxxx

Hi,Mariecay, I'm so sorry you are going through all this with no answers. Have you got a BCN who you can call and ask her to find out what's going on or your GP ?
i hope you get some answers quickly.

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with some advice on their experience. I was diagnosed nov 2013 with grade 3 Breast cancer...ER positive, 2 lymph nodes involved. I had surgery followed by TAC chemo and radiotherapy. I began suffering with breathlessness during my chemo and it has continued since. In feb this year I was given a CT scan of the lungs to see if it would highlight the cause. The scan revealed a small area on the lower right lung which they said could be an infection or cancer! I was told that the protocol was to give antibiotics (which I took) and to re scan in 2/3 months to check for changes. If there were changes it would be more likely that it was cancer. I had a scan in March as they thought I may have a blood clot then I had my repeat thorax scan 2 weeks ago. I had my appointment yesterday for the results and was told that there had been changes in both the feb to March scan and the march to April scan, plus the march scan shows 2 affected lymph nodes in my chest. My oncologist said that at this stage he was still unable to say for sure what it was as it is not his field of expertise and therefore it was being referred to the lung specialists next tues for them to decide etc.....this is very different from what he originally said. What I'm wondering is has this happened with anyone else....he says it's either an infection or cancer...however I have not been ill nor any other problems but the breathlessness since chemo. Surely if it was an infection and it's continuing to grow and make changes in my lung I would be aware of it as in feeling ill? Thanks in advance for your help
