I had axillary dissection last week (not sure how many nodes were taken). I am really struggling with discomfort and pain. I have been doing gentle excercises, but I am still pretty swollen. I was just wondering if it is a good idea to put an icepack under my arm occasionally…this weather is’nt helping!!!
Hi,it is common to have a lot more discomfort /swelling under your arm than from breast sugery .Ice pack sounds like a good idea .I had alot of fluid build up under my arm after surgery that needed draining and left me a lot more comfortable .May be worth checking out with your BC nurse.
