I finally have my MRI results - yay - all clear - yay again! Such a relief after 6 weeks of waiting.
Had my Mammogram results in post today - all clear!!
Just still waiting on the MRI results but unfortunately my BC Nurse hadn't got back to me & is now on leave 😞 Have left another message at the sister hospital to mine & hope to hear something soon
So, had my first post treatment mammogram yesterday - woman who performed it was really great. No hanging around in the waiting room, in fact was seen early. She was aware of my history & she made sure I was squashed for as little time as possible!
She said results do take 2 weeks but I can contact them if I am getting concerned, to see where they are in the "queue". She said I can organise the next annual MRI & mammogram for the same day & apologised for the confusion & having to chase up the mammo - seems the consultant hadn't been clear on stating that I need both.
Yes, it hurt but thankfully it was over super quick. No MRI result yet & its been a fortnight now but fingers crossed they come soon!!!
Just had a call back, today, from my Nurse Specialist - she said I just get the results in a letter so no appointment being made. Not sure how I feel now - those results are there and I still don't know what they are!
And I also forgot to ask when I might get them so had to leave another message (which I feel stupid about, knowing there are people in more need of her time than me). Got my Mammogram Monday so going to keep myself distracted until then 🙂
Thanks Jill - feel like I've been confused for a year!! Wishing you all the best for June :-))
Hi - thanks for the reply - I'm not really sure what each of the scans show but I thought that the MRI would give more info?
I am now scheduled for a mammogram on 9/5 & have left a message with my clinical nurse specialist asking if/when I should have an appointment arranged to discuss all the results. When I mentioned to her last week that I'd had the MRI, she seemed to think I wouldn't be coming back to see anyone until November! I hope to hear from her on Tuesday - I do hate thinking that someone has my results & I don't but then I think is it better to have all the info at one time, even if I have to wait a few more days? So confused!
Hello all!
I was diagnosed age 44 in April 2015 with a grade 2 tumour in my left breast - no lymph node involvement. Had WLE 25 radiotherapy and have been on Tamxifen and Zoladex since May 2015. I have a family history (mother age 65 and grandmother in her 40s both deceased) but tested BRCA negative. The Genetics counsellor recommended annual MRI as well as Mammograms and my consultant was happy to agree.
Had my first MRI on Monday &, after checking with my Specialist Care Nurse, I am now waiting on a Mammo appt (seems they forgot about that bit!). My query is - should I wait for the Mammo before I try to get my MRI results? They should be available from tomorrow but don't want to seem like I am jumpng the gun?
Any advice??
