I had my mammogram on 25th January. STILL no letter. They told me 1 - 3 weeks so I phoned on Friday - i day after 3 weeks. I was assured all fine which was a relief and that letter hadn't been sent out yet because of staff shortages!! This doesn't seem very fair to me. I was hugely anxious waiting for the result and it doesn't seem to get any easier waiting even 3 years after my treatment. I wish something could be done to speed things up.NHS cuts I am assuming??
Thanks Sue for your reply.
The postman has brought good news!,
The letter Is dated 6th February. Clearly been sitting in the system while I fretted, because the breast l am left with has given problems ( cysts) in the past.
Hope this warns others that they may be in for a long wait.
Best Wishes everyone xx
Yes, the worse thing is always the waiting!
I always hold on to the idea that, no news is good news. If there is a problem, then it is normally delt with sooner.
The images are looked at straight away, but not by the specialist and this can take time. At my hospital, things seem to get reviewed once a week, and if someone is off sick, then it can be delayed further.
I went for my first year mammogramon February 2nd. Was told that I must wait for the results. Still waiting. The annoying thing is that you could see the images being reviewed in the next room. Am l being unreasonable, or are my fears shared by others.?
I badly need knee replacements that had to be put on hold last year. I now have a pre op assessment , but can’t believe the operation will happen until l know all is ok.
Starting to feel concerned .Is this a common experience, or am I just I unlucky or naive?
The postman has passed me by again today.
Other experiences please.
