Hello All

BERYL hope all goes well with your ONC apt today.
CARE N hope the cold goes away soon, yes almost sorted after the decorating, trouble is when you you one room it then makes the others look like they need a lick of paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Ceej - take a big deep breath, he sounds like a right idiot. I too am in a bad mood with my MIL who keeps making comments about my weight despite the fact she is at least 3 stone heavier than me!
Hope the rest of your day is better

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Evening everyone,
have been frantically pulling together my son's birthday party for the weekend, seems like so much work for one so Definite deserves a nic e little party after this year though so I don't mind. He's so excited (has been for weeks now) but has come down with an awful cold so am keeping fingers crossed he's well enough by the weekend. He's quite happy to be spending a day with mummy tomorrow though rather than going to school, lets hope he doesn't think he can make a habit of it!
well I've been struggling with my mood still and have an appointment with the Macmillan psychologist at the hospital in a month, but have also picked up a copy of "the cancer survivor's companion" after seeing recommendations around the place. Not got very far through it yet so can't say much about it but thought I'd flag it for anyone else feeling a bit low or anxious. I got it from amazon easy enough so I reckon moat good bookshops would have it. It's written by a Macmillan psychologist and a health writer, so it is easy to read as well as being from someone who's seen it all.
Am looking forward to our meet up, not long now is it 🙂
well done jayjay, the choir did so well, was great they were using to see what effect it had as well, what a great idea and I am amazed by everyone who took part whilst they were having treatment, I can't imagine having done that, marvellous people.
xx

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

I went for a facial this morning - didn't think twice about filling in the medical form - next thing they said they couldn't do it without meld note from my Dr. I was seething....!

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi everyone hope you're all ok. Have just spent a couple of days in Devon with my parents and hubby. It was lovely although I am still struggling with pain and need to get sorted before I go back to work. Also want to feel better for our meet up which I am really looking forward to.
Going to catch up with the Choir programme now. The washing will have to wait!
Bettie xx

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

I've just watched the Sing for your Life and also shed a few tears. I had been thinking about joining a rock choir and I might well do that after Christmas I think.
Glad to hear work is OK for everyone - I don't have a job to go back to and OH says not to worry for the time being so I am spending my time trying to get fit again. Feeling weary today as have a touch of cold/flu symptoms and my reconstruction is feeling swollen and sore. I'm not sure if my symptons are because of an infection in my breast so I am off to see my consultant tomorrow.
WS - sorry to hear about your lymphodema - that is another thing that is praying on my mind that I might have that too.
Amylou - well done on finishing your rads.
Dani - think you are about to start so good luck.
Am really looking forward to our meet up - I wonder how many of us are going? Must get my badge sorted out too.
Had my flu jab today as well.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi Ladies,
Wasn't the programme good, I really feel like I want to join a choir now - probably not a good idea because I can't sing, but it looked really good fun.
I'm now on my second week working full time, and although I get very tired by the end of the day, and spent most of the weekend sleeping, I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it. I have a couple of colleagues who seem to do their best to make the place miserable, and spend hours bitching or moaning about how busy they are instead of doing the work, but at the moment I'm finding that I can just ignore it, and just feel happy to be well enough to be at work, and most of my colleagues are lovely. I have now got a cold though which I managed to avoid all the way through chemo, offices are such germy places!
Carabel and Twinky. I too have set myself strict rules - no working overtime, and I will always take a lunch break.
WS so sorry to hear you have lymphodaema, I hope it isn't too uncomfortable. Good luck with your rads, I'm sure you'll find it really easy after everything else you've been through.
Marie hope your decorating is finished, and you're all straight again, and are having a nice relaxing break now.
KQ, hope you get your broadband fixed soon, your posts always make me laugh! Only 3 more rads, nearly done!!
Beryl, I'm sure the hospital will be really pleased to have you! I would love to do some voluntary work, but just havent got the time or energy yet.
Lydia, a name badge made by your daughter would be much nicer than a bought one! I wish I had a daughter who would make me one - well I do have a daughter but she's 25 and might not be interested... I might ask her as I still haven't got round to ordering one 😉 Really pleased that you had a lovely holiday.
Amylou, you've finished rads, well done. Hope you're feeling ok. Have you heard how Dulcie is?
Bettie, hope you're feeling more comfortable? It is good to get back to work, but my advice is a nice slow phased return.
Carolyn, hope you've got a voice again and are feeling better.
Joan, hope you're having a lovely holiday, it's much quieter when you're not here, so come back soon!!
t's lovely to see everyobne's photos (your's is lovely Parsnip) so I'm going to try to add one, but not sure if I can do it...
Thinking of you all, including everyone who hasn't posted for a while, hope you're all well.

Carabel - I belong to a Craft Group and one of the lovely ladies made it for me which was so nice of her. It's bright pink (because of BC) and has some decoration on it along with my name. It may not have been how I would have designed it but I will wear it in honour of her kindness.

GeorgieB - I cried all the way through the choir programme last night (but still enjoyed it). They were fab.
WS - so sorry to hear about your lymphodema. It is something I do worry about. I hope that the antibiotics bring the swelling down and relieves your pain. Good luck with rads today.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Morning Ladies

GeorgieB - Can't find the right programme for Jayjays Choir so can you point me in the right direction? Found the Stand Up to Cancer on Chanel 4 but it's not about the choir and that made me cry, it was only a 4 min segment about a young girl fighting teenage cancer. I wanted to give her a huge hug and tell her everything will be OK!

Socks - I'm sure everything will go OK today for your first rad session and will be thinking of you. Sorry to hear that you have a sore arm and they have diagnosed lymphodema and I hope the antibiotics will help deal with the soreness. Let us know how you are doing as soon as you can. Take care and a big hug for you!

Parsnip - Like you new pic of you and your lovely little boy. Hope you are doing OK.

I've got my real name on my badge - Beryl plus surname.

I'm going to go and browse the channel guide again now that I've looked back through the messages I should be able to locate the programme.

Bye for now and send all my best wishes.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Did anyone else sob throughout the programme last night?! And weren't They good!
i have no energy and by 2.00 pm am on my knees and then am in tears because I am so tired, infact everything sets me off crying at the moment! I hope I don't cry throughout the wedding!

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi All,
Quick post as really tired and should have been in bed hours ago!
Had my prosthesis fit today - what a hoot it is to look at it - it's hilarious.!!
Bad news is......I have Lymphodema - got it checked as I was there today, anyway it has been so sore and swollwn. I am on antibiotics and will see the lymphodema nurse when I have finished RADS - and that starts tomorrow.

I thought we were coming to the end.....?

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi All,
Sorry not been about much but still having Broadband problems, every time I've tried to type a message it goes down grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!
Anyhow, a quickie message whilst still up and running. Rads seem to be going fine with me..no soreness as yet, been applying cream 3 to 4 times a day as advised by all on here and it seems to be working. Have a longer appointment tomorrow as Onc got to mark me up for booster session on tumour site for my last 4..I finish on Friday whoooop!! So 15 down 4 to go :)))
Am on 5th tamoxifen tablet and have developed the Tamoifen toddle when I get up in the night to go to the loo, am surprised my joints don't sound like a creaking gate..other than that flushes still same as normal...not bitten anyone's head off yet but working on that one could do with finding my 'inner witch'
Back later
Lotsa love
KQ
Oh...are our name badges having real names on or forum names ??????

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Chascat - Our messages crossed. It's nice to have you back and good to hear that you had a nice holiday. I understand what you mean about having a busy mind and getting back to work will certainly help that, but I'm glad that I'm not working anymore. I'm finding other ways to try and keep me busy and getting out and about is one of them. When I get through the other end of this I would like to do some volunteer work to try and put something back at the hospital. Mind you they may not want me so we will have to wait and see. Enjoy the rest of your time off and it would be nice to get your lovely daughter to make your badge and she would probably enjoy doing it.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Morning Ladies

Just a quick one because I need to get myself cleaned up. Our visitors have gone and we have had a lovely weekend and the weather has been really kind to us. They are now on their way back to Paignton, Devon, so it's a long journey home. We have dumped some things on them that we don't need anymore, because they are moving from a flat into a bungalow soon and will have a garden to maintain. Anyway, they are happy with it all and we have cleared some of our stuff so what could be better?

Amylou - Glad that your rads are coming to an end and you are doing OK. I've never asked about my prognosis and doubt that I will. I'm seeing my Onc this Wednesday for my follow up post chemo/rads so it will be interesting what he may or may not say to me. I know I have a few questions to ask him so will have to make some notes less I forget. Enjoy your party and I certainly intend to live life the best I/we can in the future.

Dulcie - How are you doing? Hope your trip to RM wasn't too taxing for you and you got some postitive answers from them! I will email you asap. Take care and always thinking of you.

Raechi, Socks and KQ - How are you all doing with your rads because I'm not sure if you have finished yet? Thinking of you all and hope that you are doing OK.

All our ladies that have returned to work, I do hope that everything is going OK and that your are managing the work load and not getting too tired. Thinking of you all.

Have to go and get in the shower and finish clearing up. I/we are playing in an indoor bows league this afternoon so have to get my head around that and hope that I put in a good effort!

Love to all and take care.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Good morning ladies,
Well i'm back from a very sunny and hot Rhodes, it was 24 degrees when we left on Saturday night and 4 degrees when we landed! Had a lovely lovely time, but it's always nice to be back home.
Amylou - just wanted to say that the thought of my daughter growing up without me is never far from my mind, sometimes I am very low and my anxiety is through the roof. You're right, life is for living, not worrying about dying but it's sometimes very hard to get into that frame of mind.
I'm back at work in 3 weeks, feel so far removed from it now, not sure how i'll cope, but I think it has to be beneficial to my mental well being to have a busy mind, and it's good to feel useful.
Not long now until our meet up, must order my badge, or I might get my daughter to make me one if I don't get round to it.
I'll catch up properly later
Love to all

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Evening lovelies.

Hope your all well. really nice to see everyone is getting on with their lifes. my last radiotherapy session tomorrow can't wait to get it over and done with. saw my oncologists registrar on Friday and asked him directly what my prognosis was. told me i have a 40% of servicing 5 years. Not seeing them until December next year with me having the double mastectomy can't have mamograms. bit gutted that the odds aren't higher with all the treatments I've had but there we go. Can't help sometimes thinking im not going to see my babies grow up and just hope i don't leave them to soon. Sam was 2 last week and keesa is 8 this week so throwing them both a big party next weekend and hopefully many more after that. lifes for living so they say and i intend to do just that.

Best go the dogs bloody crying at the back door to go out. night night. sleep tight everyone x x x x

Hi everyone.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi, I can't remember on this forum who it is who is singing in a choir on TV. I ask because there is a picture in next weeks TV Times of all the women who will be singing.
Hope you're all ok
I'm in better spirits but still very uncomfortable. I'm hoping when I return to work it will help.
Bettie xx
PS, Really looking forward to our meet up, we'll have to confer re arrival times etc. I'll prob get there late morning on the Sat. I dont think we can go into our rooms till 3pm?

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Afternoon Ladies
Just checking in quickly before I leave work. Have worked four days this week until past 5pm and feeling the effects now. Have felt like falling asleep at my desk all afternoon!
Bettie glad your health check went well and good for you having a normal bmi. I bought some fancy new scales this week that check your body fat % as well as your bmi. Not sure it was a good idea! BMI in the overweight range so need to do something about that.
Beryl I don't think they do blood tests when seeing onc here (at least they've not asked me to come for any). Still as we've seen all along all the hospitals seem to have different protocols for everything.
Twinky - like you I will be learning the word 'no' at work. I ussed to work silly hours (unpaid!!) till late in the evening and take work home at weekends as well. I am adamant that I will not be doing that again. As we can all appreciate now, life is too short!
Ceej - love your picture. I'm so jealous - it looks as though you have lots of hair. Mine is getting there but not looking anywhere near as good as yours. Hope your OH's rash doesn't spoil your fun tonight. Hope the Bowen technique thing sorts your shoulder out.
Well going to pack up and get off home now where I'll probably fall asleep in front of the tv.
Love to all.

CEEJ love the pic, hope that your daughter's interview goes ok. Hope you get some answers from your onc re scans etc.Hope that your OH's rash gets sorted soon, and you get to enjoy the Abba reunion.
TWINKY hope you mange to re charge the batteries ok, goo that you have been able to adjust your hours.
CAROLYN sorry to hear you are poorly, but I guess this lovely chemo will be in our systems a while yet so going into the winter period our immune system will be low, and I guess the children you work with love to share their germs!!!!
CARE N hope that you got on ok with your first full time week at work.
BETTIE glad that the check up went ok, hope you have managed to get your pain under control..
BERYL have a lovely time with your family.
DULCIE let us know how you got on at RM if you can.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Afternoon ladies x
Bettie – hope you’re feeling better soon – I’ve just had TWO bars of chocolate! Will definitely have to restart my diet on Monday!
Well last night the OH Facetimed me last night (like skype but on the iphone) and showed me his rash! He seems to have had an allergic reaction to something he’s eaten I reckon and most of him is covered in raised itchy rash – not that I wanted it broadcast over my phone bless him! I just told him to take some hay fever tablets and if his lips or tongue started swelling to go straight to hospital. Anyway he says it’s no better today and is waiting for a call back from the docs. He makes me SO mad as I text early this morning and said to ring docs and he said he was too busy! GRRRR men! That means I’ll be driving down to Worcester tonight and maybe our Friday evening at ABBA reunion will be cancelled…….
Twinky – take it easy – I’m lucky in that I have a really boring job! In fact I’ve done nothing today apart from go out and buy birthday cards for my son’s 25th tomorrow. Sometimes I’d love to be busier but at least I can chill at work ha ha.
I saw my niece last night who’s over from Switzerland, she had thyroid cancer last year and had an op and radiotherapy and she asked me when I’m having a scan – apparently she has one every 6 months to make sure there’s no spread – she was shocked when I said that I keep asking here and they say no CT or MRI scans now as if it has spread then it doesn’t matter if they catch it early or not and that I’d have symptoms anyway. I see the ONC next Thursday and I’m going to mention this again but I know he will brush me off in his usual manner!
Beryl – Bowen is “a complementary therapy that encourages the body to heal itself” according to the leaflet she gave me. She said it is very gentle and you don’t even feel what they are doing but that is very effective – well we will see! I do trust her word implicitly. Apparently it works very quickly as well so you’re not going back constantly for a series of treatments – it’s usually 3! I’ll report in full as this burning/stabbing pain at the base of my shoulder blade is annoying!
It’s typical about the hospital getting things wrong! I had the BCN call me yesterday to arrange to see me for after rads review and she’d already called me last week and we had arranged to see each other before my ONC appointment! Well it was in my diary……
My daughter now gone away for the weekend to Newquay and we’ve arranged a childminder for her interview on Tuesday. I can’t believe that both of us forgot it was my son’s birthday tomorrow! Bless him – we will both be away and I’ll just have to leave his cards at home!
Ok – got some document checking to do. Have a lovely weekend all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Afternoon Lovely Ladies

Lovely but very breezy day here on the east coast and loooking forward to the weekend. We have visitors expected very shortly for a long weekend (SIL & BIL) who are up from Devon. Going out to eat everyday so we don't have to cook and have more time to get out and about. Hubby playing golf tomorrow morning with BIL, so that frees us up to do some retail. I've been to my craft morning today but didn't get much done because more talking than crafting going on, which I don't mind because they are a lovely bunch of ladies.

Contacted my BCN yesterday to try and find out when I would be getting my annual Mam because uncertain if it would be before I see Surgeon on 15 Jan or before. I don't see the point of seeing him if one hasn't been done because he's a very busy man etc. She told me that it will probably be after I see him but then that would mean it would be 14 months since last Mam! She told me my last Mam was 7 Dec 11, which is incorrect but states this on my records. My last Mam was 23 Nov 11 (routine call up) when BC was found and got letter to go to hospital. She can see that it is a mistake because they have me down for a ultra sound and biopsy on 8 Dec and that wouldn't have happened then if Mam was 7 Dec, hope you are following me on this one? Anyway, it just goes to show that they make mistakes on our records and she is going to get it checked out and see if my Mam can be done before I see Surgeon on 15 Jan, will wait and see what happens on that one but I won't hold my breath. She asked me how I was feeling etc and said everything was normal for what I'd been through ie., tenderness and tiredness. Got my Onc follow-up next week so that will be interesting. Apparently they don't do blood tests (Marie had one before seeing her Onc), but I can mention it to Onc when I see him and it's up to him if he thinks I need to have one!

Twinky - I can understand your tiredness and I'm not working. Quite often I could just nod off in the afternoons and I haven't been doing anything apart from being home/housework and out and about. I am now back at the gym but I only do what I feel able to do at the moment. When I was working they always got more out of me than I was paid for with regards to hours and helping others. You just have to put yourself first because quite frankly you don't get any extra consideration when it comes down to it. Where I used to work had quite a few very young girls who probably didn't start doing any work until they had been in the office for nearly an hour. They were so busy chatting and organising there social calendars and wondered why they got in to trouble when the boss caught them out. Didn't stop them though and always came to me when they needed someone to bat for them! Hope things get easier for you soon and you can move comfortably to a full week.

Ceej - Like the new pic, you look great. What's the Bowen Tec'? I used to be a Union Rep many years ago, which was a bit of a hoot. I got nominated by a group of women who used to try and make my life hell but it didn't work. I think because I managed to stand up to them that they throught I was a good candidate! That was the one and only time I've been a Union member. Well done you and managing to go for a run and I do hope that your boob settles down soon and the soreness goes. Hope your daughters interview goes well and she gets the job, keep us posted on that one?

Bettie - Glad to hear that your health check went OK and your BMI is good. I'm pretty certain that my BMI is not good and will be raising the question of cholesterol check with Onc because Arimadex is supposed to effect your cholesterol levels amongst other things. He will probably refer me to my surgery which won't be a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Getting appointments, like most places, is pretty difficult especially if you want to see the most popular Doctor. To be quite honest I try and keep away from the surgery as much as I can, and very thankful that I didn't have to bother them much when going through treatment. I hope you are not in too much discomfort today and that you managing OK. I'm watching my hair very closely everyday but it doesn't make it grow any faster. Now I'm getting asked the question ' Are you going to leave it or get it coloured?

Visitors arrived so must be off.

Love to all.

Beryl XX

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi ladies
So glad it's Friday tomorrow & I'm off. Not easy being back at work. Think I have increased my hours to full time a bit too quickly. Been struggling these last 2 weeks & am now moving back to finishing at 4 rather than 5 plus only working 4 days until the end of Oct. it will take a long time until I can do anything like the amount of work that I used and to be honest I don't want to do that much again. I won't be doing the long hours that I used to. I am learning today the word 'no'.

Lots of hugs for Bettie. You've been having such an awful time.

Looking forward to the meet up in Birmingham, but now a little concerned about being out for a large part of the day & then playing a gig! I shall have a big lie in Satirday morning & catch up with you all in the afternoon. I will need to leave for the gig just after 6.

Cant wait to get into bed...the old batteries feel very flat. Felt like a hard week.

Twinky x

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi, just a quick post. You all look great with your new hair. Mine is growing back like a grey mohican and everyone always asks if I have styled it like that! Its really weird the way its coming back but I'm fine with it, could do with a bit more growth but thats only because the weather is getting colder.
Went for a health check today and despite the BC and ongoing other medical stuff the results of my blood tests for cholesterol and blood pressure etc were excellent. Even my BMI was ok so I had a big bar of chocolate on ther way home to celebrate!
Night Night

To those of you still having rads we're waiting at the finishing line for you. You'll soon get there.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi MMs
Being as everyone else is looking so fab here’s me not hiding under my wig!
Had a lovely extended weekend with the OH in Hull – the weather was actually lovely and we ended up in Scarborough on Tuesday eating fish and chips overlooking the sea. Perfect ! I could actually get used to working a 3 day week ha ha – it’s nice to think that it’s Friday tomorrow already ! I even managed to walk into the town centre and find my way back (eventually)
Also met up with some of my ex work colleagues last night (the government closed us down in 2010) and they’re sooo nice – don’t have miss that place! I also used to be a union rep and one of the other reps was there who is now fully trained in the Bowen technique, so I’m going to see her on Monday night to see what it’s all about. It’s so weird but she said she told someone else that she didn’t think I was well even before I was diagnosed! Some people just have a sixth sense maybe.
Hopefully tomorrow night we’re going to watch my niece in Abba Reunion in Worcester, if I get there in time from here in rush hour traffic I suppose!
It’s lovely to hear of everyone going on hols or settling into work or moving on to rads. I’ve still got a sore patch on the side of my boob which I’m treating, but the rest of it looks lovely and tanned! I actually signed up to the runners club last night, and went out with them again for a 5k run, trouble is I’m the slowest one and I have to keep stopping to walk and get my breath back. It took an hour!! And I’m really not looking forward to the winter – I might just not go then!
My daughter has an interview next week at the nursery she used to go to when she was little – let’s hope they have a suitable opening for her – I really want her to get settled.
Right – gotta go – am really looking forward to seeing everyone in November!!!!!
BIIIIIG HUGS

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi Everyone
Well 2nd week of full time nearly over!! Feeling tired but not as tired as I did last week. I have onc appt end of Oct then surgeon beg of dec then I assume it will go to an annual check. I am going to ask again for either an MRI or scan as I really need to know that I am clear. It has bothered me that the onc doesnt appear to be in favour of doing them!! His response last time was " if we find anything then it means treatment has failed" I dont think so!! To me it means they need to do something about it, anyway will have to see what he says this time when I go.
Bettie sorry to hear you are feeling down, hope the painkillers are working and that you come to a decision about future treatment.
My colleague at work has just booked an annual leave on Fri 9th nov when I had hoped to finish early for our meet up but I couldnt refuse as I am on hol the following week and we have to cover for each other as we are the only 2 operational managers in our service. I will probably be quite late arriving as I wont be able to get a train till after 5pm, I did think maybe go early sat morn but room is paid for 2 nights, will have to see nearer the time.
hope everyone well and those having rads are coping ok. Thinking of everyone

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hi All
Have worked two fairly long days so far this week and feeling quite tired although it is quite a nice tired if that makes sense. Have just booked my flight to Birmingham for November. Get into Birmingham Airport at 12.30pm and I believe it is a quick train journey from airport to New Street so I hope that gets me in on time for the afternoon activities!
I have just had a letter in for my onc appointment. This will be on 31st October. I don't think I will get signed off just yet as I am still having scans for nodules on my lungs. However as these have gone from three monthly to six monthly I am hoping I might be signed off after the next one in February.
Carolyn you shouldn't feel guilty about being off work. I think we will all be more prone to catch things than before and not so quick to fight them off.
Beryl - I had a chuckle at your story about your haircut! I am still wearing scarves bur have been happy showing off the hair that I do have to anyone who wants a look. Hopefully I will feel confident enough to ditch the scarves in a week or two.
Marie67 (Jane) - It is really hard to put the whole BC thing behind us as it seems to be mentioned everyone where you go! I hope your OH's aunt's partner's lump turns out to be nothing.
Joan - Glad to hear all went well with Onc. You will be in Cyprus by now and I hope you have a wonderful time.
EbHippo - I also still have slight tingling in my fingers and nails still causing problems. I lost my pinkie nail the other day as well as one toenail. Another two toenails are loose. No leaking though. I would get that checked out in case there is any infection.
Woltsy - the Haven sounds great. Hope you take full advantage.
WS - As with Woltsy I hope you are able to take full advantage of the Haven. Sorry to hear you have lost your job through bc and I hope you manage to sort something else out. It can't be easy.
Bettie - Sorry to hear about your troubles. Big hugs and I hope you feel better soon.
KQ - hope you are okay with the Tamoxifen.
Care-N - I know how you feel about work. I was working more or less through chemo but had 5 weeks off at end of chemo and then 2 weeks off after radiotherapy. I then went straight onto two weeks holiday. Went back yesterday and people keep asking if that is me back for good now. Obviously I hope to be but who really knows.
Pargyan - I would say try the cycling and see how you feel. I am rubbish at cycling up even really small hills!
Think I will go for a nice bath before bed. Hugs to all.

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Evening All

Had quite a full day and feeling a little pooped now so just a quick response to Marie - Yes, my Onc appointment is at King's Lynn but I've got a dentist appointment before that for a for a clean and polish. I don't know if the Onc examines you or does he just ask you questions and that's it? Unlike you I've not been asked to have a blood test, so that is something I will bring up. Otherwise it's seeing the surgeon on 15th Jan, and I would assume that a Mam will be on the cards before then. My tumour was picked up on routine Mam last November, so it will be 12 months around 23rd Nov but don't know if they will count that date or from surgery? No doubt they will let me know soon enough.

Hope everyone is doing OK and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Night, night!

Re: Marvellous Marchies 2012 Moving on

Hello MM'S
Spent my day off pottering in the garden as the weather is lovely. Just when I start to think I can put the BC business behind me a bit we have just heard that my OH's aunty's partner has found a lump in his breast and has an appointment at Stoke Mandeville on Monday, so we all begin the waiting game again, he's in his late 40's.
WS I to have not had a holiday abroad this year, will possibly aim to go away somewhere next year, I am guessing Socks has not returned.
JOAN I know you will be in sunny Cyprus now, but it's good news for you to that your ONC doesn't want to see you again, I still find that idea a bit strange as I was sure he would follow mw up for 5 years, guess any questions I will direct to breast surgeon.
EBHIPPO it may be worth getting your toe checked at the GP surgery just to rule out an underlying infection, glad all going well at work, despite your bosses comments. My toenails have been fine it's my fingernails that have kept flaking off. Next on my list is to get eyes tested.
BERYL I'm guessing you will have your onc apt in King Lynn and not have to go all the way to Cambridge, hopefully you will get signed off to
DANI and CAREN I would love to have a sat nav to do my thinking, but the NHS don't provide them for us and as I use a pool car rather than my own car I don't really want to take mine from home as with my mushy brain I would forget to take it out of the car and an A-Z is easier to replace if lost !!!!!!!!!!!
WOLSTY that is an impressive covering of hair, the Have sounds alovely place even if the have tried to suggest only 1 glass of wine!!!!
DULCIE I hope you are doing ok and that the RM have been able to answer your questions, also hope your OH is getting sorted with his scans and treatment.
RAECHI hope you are recovering ok after your surgery, have you got a date to start rads yet?
AMYLOU hope you are doing ok with rads, how many more do you have to go? When is your next follow up.?
Hope everyone is doing ok.
Jane
