Lucy BCC - my apologise, of course you are right to remove the post. Since you are reading Lucy any advice for us regarding our get together - does BCC have a publicity dept and would the story of our meet up be of interest? - perhaps you have one a month and therefore its not news for the site?

Crumbs.....that scared me seeing how many unread posts there were for me but seem to have got through them pretty quickly! Not long now. I have three lots of phone numbers so should be able to track you down on Saturday. Am coming in by train from Leamington & will catch one that gets me in around 12 & then will loiter in Costa clutching a big hot chocolate. I will definitely be singing Saturday night but that's because I'm expected to with the band! I am sorry not to be able to join you for the night time activities but at least I will get to spend some time with you in the afternoon. I will make a name badge Friday night. Hadn't realised how emotional I felt until I read the 'press release' passage & had a few tears come to my eyes. I've taken a big step today. I've been having weekly counselling sessions since September to help pick myself & put myself back together & today I told her I wanted one more session in a months time just to check I'm getting on ok & then I should be ok. I felt a total mess after treatment finished but I'm really proud of where I am now compared to then. What a journey it has been for us all so far. Looking forward to meeting you all & yes I think the positive publicity would be a good thing. We need to reassure those frightened ladies who are at the start of it all.

Been to see my second cousin who is a dentist today for some advice on my teeth and ended up having the first stage of root canal fillings. My mouth feels so much better already. Its been a long day, 2 hour drive each way plus treatment but i trust him 100% so was very grateful that he helped me.

Have made appointment for my daughter to see a neurologist on Monday and then we will go straight to the chemo unit for my Herceptin which will be a bit of an eye-opener for her. She seems totally fine now, wanted to go off to a sleepover party on Saturday night but i thought it was too soon!!! Fingers crossed that it was just a one-off.

Off to bed now as exhausted. Soooo looking forward to the weekend xx

Evening Ladies

Dani - Last few rads this week and you will be done by Friday - well done for getting across the line as well! We will surely have lots to celebrate at the weekend.

Joan - Good idea to donate and I will have a look at what I've got. I'm going to keep some because I know that I will still wear them, especially with the winter coming on. I've certainly got a couple of sleep caps, one of which I've never worn. Started to lay all my stuff out on the spare bed ready for packing tomorrow. We will be off to Northampton after lunch to stay with my brother and more family coming in the evening for dinner to catch up with me, which will be nice. Won't be leaving for B'ham until after luch on Friday so will have plenty of time to recover from night before.

Waiting too - If I were you I'd still bring the items if you have spare room in your suitcase.

Sending my best wishes to all and look forward to seeing those that can make it in B'ham very soon.

Thinking of all the ladies that we haven't heard from in such a long time and hoping that all is well.

Really sorry ladies, but I am really struggling! Whats this about shoe sizes? I have looked back over all the posts but I cant find anything to do with shoe sizes! I'm a 7, does that help/! Someone put me out of my misery please?!!!!!!

While I think of it, if anyone wants to off-load any head wear, I can take it to a cancer hair charity which I am going to so bring them at the weekend.

Hi Marchies

Just hopped over from the April thread to wish you a lovely weekend together. We met up at 'Bunnyfest' two weekends ago & it was absolutely fabulous to meet the women who we had shared so much with over the months, it exceeded my very high expectations. We did Bunnyoke with percussion (mostly homemade) and sang I will survive, Sisters are doing for themselves & Lean on me. It was hilarious & emotional at the same time, the the acapello version of Lean on Me was particularly tearjerking.

Goodnes i have 70 posts to read!! So sorry not been on for a while but thought i had better let you know i am coming fri hopefully get in for about 8pm ish as working till 5pm. Thank you to everyone for being so kind offering to meet me, dont want to put anyone out, should be relatively easy to find hotel. As Joan will probably tell you i had a mini panic when i checked hotel reservation thought i had booked wrong hotel but Joan assures me i am in right one!!
Hairdresser has cancelled my appt tomorrow as he has childcare issues so disappointed as wont have colour done for weekend, getting it done next week before I go on hol. Beryl your hair looks lovely, probably looks strange to you as we have been so used to bald heads!! It looks great.
Georgie sorry you cant join us but hopefully there will be another time, you will be in our thoughts.

Evening everyone,
i can feel the buzz of excitement all the way down south 🙂 thinking on the local news issue, is it perhaps not too late to contact the media people for BCC? Could get them some good publicity, and after all it is due to them that we all connected. No idea how to get hold of them though. Will maybe browse the site tomorrow to see if I can find anything. Personally I'm not into wearing pink (I have a few issues on the pinkification of such a horrible disease) and you'll have to wait til I'm dofew quite a few drinks before I start singing in public! I usually reserve that for in the car alone (even my boy tells me to stop if he's in the car).
right, I need to get some sleep if we're going to be singing in the wee hours at the weekend 😉

Such a lot to catch up on today, you have all been so busy!! I am happy about the central news thing, what a great idea and the article reads just right, thank you, brought a tear to me eye too!

However, I am definately not up for a sing along!! That would be sure to get the tears flowing and not through pleasure either!! lol! I am sure it will be very emotional for all of us, and I really hope everyone is going to have something else to look forward to next week.

GeorgieB, I am sorry you cant join us, you are not the only one and we will be thinking of ALL our MM's, not just the ones who are meeting up. Hopefully you can join us next time!

Off to get ready for bed now, I have been out with work all day at centre parcs in Notts. Had a lovely time and it was good to meet up with work colleagues that I hadnt seen for a year.

Chascat / Woltsy / Gabbylamb I hope to arrive at New Street between 1 and 1.30 (at the latest) on Saturday. not sure if this is too late to meet you all at Costa Coffee? My flight gets into Birmingham at 12.30 and not sure how far it is from arrivals to the station? Does anyone know? I've checked the trains leaving after 12.30. There is one at 12.46 which would get me to New Street 13.01. If I don't catch that one there seems to be one every 10 minutes and it takes 15 mins to get to New Street. Maybe one of you could pm me your number & I could let you know when I am on my way.
Getting really excited now. Not sure about the singing (I am completely tone deaf!!!).

Great idea about the sing song WS. Don't know about anyone else but I am already feeling emotional about our get together! I think it will be great.
What about wearing something pink or is that going over the top? It could only be something small even a piece of jewellery or something. I always try to wear bright colours and was really touched when I went back to work and all my friends are wearing lots of colour. It just makes you feel better.

Hi I tried to put the slightly edited version in that Ceej has tweeked but I think its encrypted so this is the original version.
We are a mixed age group of women who have one thing in common.We were all diagnosed with cancer end of last year/beginning of this year. We all have different experiences but have all shared the fear of what its like to be told you have breast cancer.

Through the breast cancer forum we have supported each other through what has often been a very challenging journey. It has been a complete roller coaster of a journey through being told of our initial diagnosis, having surgery then chemo and finally radiotherapy. We have shared our fears and have been comforted by each other. We have exchanged our experiences of losing our hair and even posting pictures of our bald heads on the forum. We have posted in the middle of the night when the steroids have kept us awake and there has always been someone to offer a reassuring word. The Forum has been an amazing site and we have now arranged this meet up to finally put faces to the names.

If we can talk openly about cancer it can allay our fears. We have encouraged each other to go bald and to go out with our heads held high. It is often only other peoples perceptions that stops us. A positive mental attitude is tremendously important and the forum has helped achieve that. You CAN go through breast cancer treatment and come out of it the other end still with a smile on your face.
We've added a bit more about the meet up but this is pretty much the gist of it.
