Yes, Helen that is where I meant. If you come in the front doors nearest the Hobbycraft, the lifts are literally right there! There is a fairly large clear area at the top, with escalators and toilets too. And I think you can park really close if you have a blue badge. If you would rather meet somewhere else, please say!

Hi, im happy to say 11.30 but not sure exactly what time, will text you when im on the train, but obviously at least Helen will be driving, so ill understand if not everyone replies.

Also, im going to be dressed as a bellringer for warmth and convenience, so please dont expect a vogue model!

By the way, you recall i said they would prob arr my mri for 22nd? Well they have, so good its 15th. All i have to do now is keep well.....and hope theres not a train strike either!

Ps - I think meeting inside upstairs at the restaurant would be better, Helen. People might arrive by different entrances and we don't want to be waiting at opposite sides of JL's! Besides, it'll be much warmer inside (depending on which door you mean, of course!).

Hello Helen, I'm totally flexible re time, but a lot of everyones travel will depend on traffic/trains, etc. I think the actual meetup time needs to be totally flexible. Would it work better if we all gave each other our mobile numbers (by private messaging, of course -DON'T put your mobile number on this thread!). We could perhaps aim for meeting around 11.30 - there is plenty to look at at Cribbs if anyone arrives early! I am always up for lunch, and I'm pretty sure Carolyn is too! Did we actually agree to meet upstairs in John Lewis outside the restaurant, or does someone have another preference? I honestly don't mind, but we all need to be sure of where we are meeting.

Hallo all. 15th is OK for me (I assume it's Bristol we're talking about) better actually. Since Brexit the whole country seems to be trying to funnel itself into Devon and Cornwall at holiday time. I will drive if we need to do a pick up from Bristol Temple Meads but  it takes me the best part of an hour to get to Exeter so if anyone else is offering that would be great. Bonariensis xx

12th could be difficult plus I have the next two days after that tied up with appointments and/or treatment.  Maybe the week after or the one after that?  However if that clashes with the other (Bristol?) meet up we can make it another week. Just say which might be best for you (and, you, Helen as well as any one else aiming to join in)

I couldn't sleep as I was on steroids as I had just had chemo on the Tuesday :-).

The day after that message I ended up in hospital again for a week because pneumonia kicked in again and then I became neutropenic. I don't think I've been back on here since then so I'm just catching up now 🙂 Chemo again tomorrow, so maybe there'll be some more middle-of-the-night posts 😉

That sounds good, bonariensis. Are you volunteering to drive then? That would be a help (haven't actually driven that far since having compression fractures in spine last Autumn). I can take a turn pushing a wheelchair for a while, though, as long as it's not too far!

Oh no! Just read your post about half term! Hadn't given it a thought! We might have to leave a little earlier, as Helen suggests! Carolyn is still up for 22nd, but still haven't had a reply from EJ81. I am seeing her on Monday (3rd), though, so will ask her then.

if everyone is still up for it (have to get up a bit earlier perhaps cos of half term??!) then we have a plan and I have just seen that they do mobility scooters at the Causeway so I don't need a wheelchair pusher after all... You will have to keep out of my way though as I tend to mow people over and shop fittings too!

I can pick you up Moijan if needed..? I guess only issue is timing as wont know how bad traffic is till I get on the road. But I can leave at 9.00 now so should be there 10.30 unless mega delays. Let me know.

Bristol Parkway station would be the best for a pick up, close to Cribbs Causeway, easy to drive to and modern therefore ?accessible? but can do Bristol Temple Meads if no suitable trains.

I can push a wheelchair and tend not to belt round blind corners in the car.

i too, have a blood test hat day plus a dental hygeinist appt, I musnt miss( they muddled all my appts)If I cant t get there on 12 th, would be very happy to zip  to basingstoke one Friday....that could be Helens chemo day?

the station/shops area isnt too bad Helen, but there may be a car par near the shops? Illhave a check when I can.

And how to get from A-Bso iprob would get there earlier and mooch around the shops tilleveryone get thether. I should be able to make 12th in Guildford but do have a blood test that day. I can check to see if we are still on for meeting nearer the day and hopefully arrange my blood test to fit in. Although I know Guildford fairly well it's probably best that Helen suggests a meeting place as I see from the other postings on this thread that Helen has mobility problems and of course Guildford is very hilly!

Will wait to see what's suggested and will confirm nearer the date.

OK, Helen, I have heard from bonariensis, and she can do 22nd. I have yet to hear from Ellie about the whole idea, but I think Carolyn is in for the 22nd too. Will confirm with everyone and get back to you. Helen, I could probably push a wheelchair for a little while, as long as it goes where you want it to (my fathers doesn't!).

Moijan, sorry, I'm not trying to be awkward but I really wouldn't be brave enough to drive into Bristol to try to find a station. However, bonariensis, I think, is offering to drive instead and she says she knows Bristol, so will get back to you on that, and Helen has also offered to pick you up from the station. Be careful, though, I think there are 2 stations in Bristol - be very specific about which one your train arrives at. Moijan, if we park where I am thinking we will park (and especially if anyone has a disabled badge- I don't) then we should be able to park very close to the entrance. There are escalators and lifts to the top floor of John Lewis.

As for time to meet, how about near lunchtime? Say, 11.30-12? It's not easy to be exact, what with traffic, train times, etc for all of us.

Hopefully we wont have to travel far by foot. But Barton, if Helen were to drive to the centre you mentioned, would it mean a lng walk frm the car patk?

I have always driven, and can tell you which junction off the M5, but other than that I have no idea. Can you look at Google Maps for a station there, or just Google station, Cribbs Causeway?
