Hello all
Hope things are going well and you're scoffing loads of Easter eggs!
Andrea - I've only got five rads to go - hurrah! My skin is pink too, and a bit itchy today but generally I've had no problems. I'm being done at Guys.
Are yours at Maidstone? Have you managed to find a bra you like? Are you still thinking about recon?
Sarah - I'm not sure how long you were staying in - I really hope the op went well, and that you're home now. I hope all your chaps are spoiling you rotten!
Dawn - not long now - I bet you're so excited. That chest infection had better be gone by then - are you feeling better? Any more celebrations this weekend? Have you started packing yet?
All going fine with me - my hair's coming back a dark colour - I'm trying to convince myself it's not grey and that I look like Demi Moore in GI Jane. I haven't dared go out in public uncovered yet. The wig's holding out - in fact a friend's mum bumped into me recently, and said to my friend 'wasn't Tracey lucky not to have lost her hair ' . So the wig is good!!!
I'm looking forward to our week away in April - but even more to my two week stay at work's convalescent home. I start back properly at work on May 6th.
Had fab day yesterday at a friends who organised an easter egg hunt in her garden for the kids and craft stuff to keep them happy whilst we drank champagne all afternoon. Tonight I'm going to a 40th birthday fancy dress party in my groovy 1960's outfit and will wear my pink wig! I am quite tired but my new motto is 'I can catch up on sleep when I'm old!'
Happy Easter to everyone - and keep posting your news
Tracey xx
Hi All
Well yet again, I am so sorry been a bit elusive. Had another great weekend for my birthday, but reckon two weekends of having lots of fun have finally caught up with me. As am completely shattered and now have another cold, and reckon might be starting chest infection not sure. So feeling pretty pants, and alas, i don't get any time to rest and recover with the two muppets. Had Herceptin no,5 on Tuesday too.
Last weekend was a blast, as my friends had organised a surprise huma limo to take us up London and boy, did we have a scream in there I can say. Drank 3 bottles of bucks fizz and 1 bottle of champers (between 9, so not too bad). Got to hotel and rooms not ready so hit the pub over the road, and didn't "fall" out of there till 4pm., I drank more than I probably should and more than is probably good for me but too late now. We found a nice Italian in Leicester Square and had a lovely meal and then onto Chicago. Have to say was disappointed with the show. There is no scenery, and my friends who have seen the film say it is all done in womens jail but the set was non existence. The orchestra took main stage on a tiered staircase thing, there were sort of bar lines on the floor but that was it. And I think due to the drink and partying atmosphere, we needed something more lively with a bit of get up and go, But hey, we had a fabulous time and really enjoyed ourselves. Got to bed about 1am, which is LATE for me, So all in all, my 40th birthday has gone down with a mega bang, lots of partying and fun had by all, and now I need to recover before my big holiday.
I hope that everyone is ok, have been following as best I can, but just not getting time to sit here and type that much and once muppets in bed, am collapsing on the sofa,
Andrea good to hear that your rads going away, did you ever explain why you suddenly changed your id - not sure if you did. Think I said thanks for the text toom but if I didn't thank you,
Tracey how are you doing and how is the wig and hair going. I am looking into real hair extensions but never getting enough time to really find out too much. Not sure if my hair is long enough yet, but am desperately trying to sort out,
Sarah how are you doing and what you up to right now,
Anyway take care all and let me know how you are.
Lots of Love
Dawn

Hi guys,
What a fab weekend Dawn....and wonderful surprise. It must have been great to see everyone and well done to John for managing to keep it a secret. I logged on in a rush, 5 mins before walking out the door for rads, and after reading about your weekend found myself in a right two and eight! Such a lovely story. I have heard The Rowhill Grange is amazing and your room (with the massive bath) sounds fantastic! Sounds like you were well and truly pampered. Good for you. Hope all goes well with your next Herceptin.
Tracey, how's your rads going? are you pink yet? Mine looks like very subtle sun burn! Where are you going for your rads? Sounds like you are doing a lot of travelling. Hope you are not suffering too much with the tiredness. What happens after rads - will you be on Tamoxifen?
Sarah, good luck for Friday. Hope all goes well and will be thinking of you. Sounds great if you can have the Herceptin - will keep my fingers crossed for you. Hope you start to take it easy.
I am halfway through rads now but my energy levels are so blooming low. Not sure if this is normal or just me. Managed a trip to Bluewater at the weekend to look for mastectomy bras and was so shocked to find nothing unless you are about a 38 DD and into beige and embroidered flowers! I think I will be seriously considering a recon unless I can get something sorted asap!
Speak soon, and good luck Sarah, let us know how you are doing.

Hi all - sorry not logged on for a while - finding it a bit hard going so giving myself a little break.
Dawn - your party sounds amazing - so glad you had a fab weekend. Really glad it was a surprise - I did have an email from John a couple of weeks ago when he highjacked your email address book re the party - said it was a lovely gesture inviting me and family but I hadn't actually met you yet!!! Have you had your night away with the girls yet? and also not long until Florida - bet you can't wait. Hope your heart scan is ok for Herceptin.Fingers crossed.
Andrea and Tracey - hope you are both ok - how is the radiotherapy going?
Going in on Friday for next mastectomy and recon so really nervous now - just trying to stock up the cupboards and organise things for next few weeks so easier for everyone. Just loads going on at the moment - 6th form interviews and school journeys etc.
Will catch up with you all in a while - fingers crossed that everything will be clear on the biopsy. They are also possibly looking at giving me Herceptin on its own as I didn't have it with chemo and have had reoccurrance- seeing onc after surgery to discuss.
Take care

Hi Dawn
It was great to hear all about your wonderful birthday treats - what an amazing weekend. I was so pleased to read all about it. You really do deserve it, and John sounds like a lovely chap !!
Rowhill Grange is very near me - I think I might have to pay the spa a visit - Victoria sounds like a marvellous lady.
Hope the heart scan went ok -
love from Tracey xx
Hi Dawn,
What a fab surprise! Had a lump in my throat reading your post - so glad you had a lovely time! Have my 40th in August this year to look forward - that takes some beating though!!
Love,

Good Luck for your scan this afternoon - hope it all goes well and that you can have your Herceptin next week.
Can't be long before America - bet you are gettting excited.
Please take care, love

Hello All
Sorry not posted for a while, just don't know where my time goes - honestly.
Hope that you are all OK and things going as well as they can do for you all, not sure where everyone is at with treatment. We still haven't got round to meeting either. Andrea thanks for your text message, sorry not responded yet, but keep reading and will see I have not had the time ... no excuse I know.
What can I say. I had a fabulous weekend ... would you like to hear all about it .... no??? yes???, ah well, tough if you said no, am gonna tell all, and boy it may get long!!!
Saturday, as you all probably know, John took me to Rowhill Grange at Wilmington for the night. We had a lovely suite, with a fantastic 4 poster bed and the bathroom, was absolutely massive with bath in the middle. We used the spa facilities in the afternoon had swim and hot tub thingy I wore my old wig, but was a bit self conscious about it have to say. Then I had a facial in the evening at 6pm, and the lady who did was fantastic. I told them when we checked in about my "condition" and she volunteered to take me on (was booked with someone else apparently). Her name is Victoria. She works voluntarily at Bromley hospital, giving had/arm massages, and other things and knows quite alot about dos and don'ts for people with cancer. So gave me a lovely facial, but no head massage that normally goes with it, and gave me a few freebies too. It was lovely and very relaxing, although we chatted all the way through it.
John had lovely bubble bath waiting for me when finished and then off for dinner at 8pm. Have to say, i am not into all this fancy food stuff and was a little worried with the menu, but had salmon to start and pork for main, and both dishes were lovely. Not so sure on hubbys' he had ox cheek to start - put me off straight away sound of it. Not sure he was that keen on it though. LOL. Also had a bottle of laurent perrier rose (hubbys sister upgraded to this from normal bottle of champers) and it was lovely!!! And the night continue ........ quite romantic have to say.
Next morning, up and showered by 8.45, yeah know, was supposed to have lie in, but body clock was not having it. Jack is a very early riser nowadays up by 6am most days (YUK), but brekkie finished at 10 anyway, so had a lovely full fry up and boy, was it delicious. I then had another treatment at 11.30 which was for body bronzing. But when went in, Victoria my lovely lady, said she had been up all night worrying about it, rang one of her colleagues from hospital and they both thought it was not a good idea for me to have it. Said that although she was going to rub as gently as she could she would still need to be quite firm and would obviuosly increase my circulation. She also said where I have the cannula inserted, my veins are probably quite weak and it might do more damage than good for her to rub hard there too, She would go ahead and do it, if I wanted and signed a declaration, but she prefered me not to for my own sake. So I ended up having another sort of facial, head stimulation or something and a lovely hand massage and as couldn't have manicure (as had false nails last week), she gave me a free nail varnish, so chose a really pale pink for Sophie to have. But had a lovely time there and recommend to all,
AND THEN .....
We were supposedly going to meet Johns brother-in-law and sister and the muppets at local pub/kids play area for lunch, and he was moaning that they had decided they wanted to see where he worked and were already on the bridge!!! He then had to stop for petrol and was on the phone again. We pulled up at his golf club, and he said "oh they are in the carvary, so we will go in the back way here where the weddings use". OK I thought. Anyway, there was Sophie, Jack, sis and bruv-in-law waiting. And Sophie came running out and said "Mummy, mummy, Grandad and Tracey are up there", and I thought, Whoa, whats going on here .... but kept walking and then saw a load of balloons with guess what, yep, 40 on them and then it HIT me. I walked in and there was 80 or so people cheering and clapping me and I just tried to hide then got all emotional (am now typing this). He had organised a surprise party for me, and there were people there I have not seen for a few years, all my friends and children and my family too. It wad amazing. I was completely shocked as I had absolutely NO idea about it at all. But boy, did I enjoy myself, although was completely knackered Sunday night and yesterday. Going round to talk to everyone and open pressies etc. I am still in shock I think and am so amazed that I never realised what was going on, or that John had got my emails and contacted people or the amount of calls between him and my friend Tracey too!!!
So all in all, I had a fab weekend, a great 40th birthday and cannot believe all my friends and family. Only downer was as still having to wear my glasses, all pics will be yuk, although all my pics are yuk anyway, as not photogenic. Grandad (my Dad) is coming over today with his camera, so if any nice ones will send to you all. Apparently Grandad had been at my sisters' all last week and I didn't even know.
Well enough of me ... anyone still awake.
Have got heart scan this afternoon and next herceptin is week today. So fingers crossed todays results are OK. Getting nervous now.
Anyway, will post again later and will not be all about me, I promise.
Take care and lots of love

Where is everyone?
Just a quickie before I take the boys to their swimming lessons.
Dawn - HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow!!!!!! I hope you have a fab weekend and drink loads of champagne.
I will catch up again next week - hope you're all doing ok. Sarah - I hope you're having a restful week off. Andrea - any movement on the hair front?
I'm about a third of the way through rads - the novelty of going to London every day has worn off!, but all is ok.
Have a great weekend and come back soon with your news!
Tracey xx
Hello everyone - hope you're all doing ok.
Dawn - have you been feeling alright after your last herceptin. Thank goodness your temp came down, and they let you go home. Hope you make lots of money on ebay! I found it really hard to get rid of baby clothes, even though I knew there would be no more.
Not long until your hols. Did you find a suitable hair dye? Does that mean you're going to ditch the wig soon? Count down to the big 40................
Andrea - my hair is still very short, I've no plans to go wigless for a while, but really don't want to wear it when I go back to work on May 6th.
I've got two weeks at the convalescent home from April 21st, just after I get back from Malta, so should be ready for the daily trudge up to London! Well, three days a week.
Did you enjoy Penelope? We saw the Water Horse over half term, it was lovely.
How are the rads going? I've had three so far. No problems, just a bind going up to London each day. Good practice for return to work tho!
Sarah - is this your last week at work? I hope you can relax and enjoy your week off. Have you got people to help you out with school run etc?
What day/time of day is best for a meet? We must do it soon,
Tracey xxl
Hi girls,
Tracey, glad you had a good time at Pontins, and good for you going to the British Museum. Sounds like you have had a good half term. Hope your rads are going well.
Sarah, sounds like you are all set for your op. Pleased you decided to take some time off beforehand as your work sounds very stressful. Is Mr Desai doing the op? Have you decided what you are having done yet?
Dawn, ebay is addictive isn't it! pleased all went well in the end with your Herceptin. Did get your mobile number so will be in touch next time we are at Ikea, however haven't any spare cash at the moment! we are trying to save to get away for a weekend at the end of rads.
What length is your hair? Let us know if you find a suitable hair colourant.
Tracey, what length is yours? Will you be going wigless soon? Mine started growing back before the end of treatment too.
Took the girls to the cinema to see Penelope but haven't managed much else. Hoping my energy levels will be much better by Easter. Dawn, has your energy returned yet? I think Herceptin can make you tired though. What do you have planned for your birthday?
Lots of Love, A
ps I have updated my username!!
Hi Everyone
How are we all doing. This thread seems to be getting left behind.
Sarah, glad you had a great time in Bristol, and sounds like your niece will be well spoilt by all and sundry I reckon. I am with you on the museum front, not really my thing, although my father would love to convert me. Onto hair dye, where can i buy some that is vegetable based then and does it work like the others, ie, wash it in etc. Am such a novice aren't I.
Tracey how are you and what have you been up to. Take it half term is finally over and boys back to school? Not sure if you reading my other thread I go on, but am having an ebay frenzy right now, selling all my old baby stuff, as no way will I be having anymore now, even if i wanted to!!! So getting money for it all, even if a few quid, buys my muppets new things!!!
Andrea how are you and what are you up to. Think i sent you email with my mobile number, so next time you visit IKEA you can ring me.
Well had my herceptin yesterday (No. 4) and went very well, got there at 8.45, straight in at 9, drip and saline going through by 9.20 and herceptin started bt 9.50 so was home by 12.15. First time run that smoothly for me, although new regime of doing blood pressure and temp before leave, and my temp on the ear thingy was 37.7, did both ears and had to go seek another nurse. Then did manual temp and was OK. Started to worry weren't gonna let me out.
Anyway, hope you are all OK. Need to sort out meeting up again, but I can't do 11 March (heart scan), 18 March (Herceptin) and then off on hols on 30 March.
See if we can get any dates suitable for all of us.
Take care
Love

Hi all
Juat back from Bristol and had a great time - change of scenery was just what I needed. My neice is 8 months old and just gorgeous!! She will be spoilt silly by me as I have 2 sons, 9 nephews and 2 godsons - so first girl for ages!!
Dawn - how are you getting on? If you don't like your hair dark you can use a vegetable based dye on new hair I think - just probably not good to use a bleach based one. I know how you feel - personally I hated the growing back stage - had to use lots of products as it was frizzy. Not long until your birthday - when do all your treats start?
Tracey - glad you enjoyed Pontins - I did British Museum last year when Harry was doing Egyptians - amazing building but I got a bit bored after a while- liked the coffee shop best!!!
Andrea - hope you are ok and enjoying half term. Losing track a bit - have your rads started yet?
Off to drop Charlie at golf than take Harry swimming with friends - so another quiet day!!
I go in on 14th March for op so will be our of action for a while after that - so let me know about meeting up. I have decided I will get signed off for the week before my op. God knows why I was going to try and work up to the day before a 7 hour op???
Speak soon

Hi Everyone
Hope all is well with everyone. We had half term last week, although Sophie only went back today as they have moved the nursery classroom due to building works, so had extra 2 days off, am I glad she has gone back today - she certainly needs it as gets so bored at home and drives me crazy sometimes.
Tracey glad Pontins was good and you had great weather if like it was here - so hope you are having a good week with the boys off and have lots planned. Sounds like you have so far. Shame weather not that good though.
Andrea, will def email you with my mobile number and next time you around this way give me a shout. Will do it now before I forget.
Sarah - not that you will probably read this, but hope you are having a great break at your sisters in Bristol and enjoying yourself. Let us know when you are back and then we can try to organise a meet properly this time around. Although have to warn you, that as have got busy few weekends in March might be harder to offload muppets.
My hair isn't really long, and seems quite fine and really yukky and DARK!!!! Don't think will be brave enough for long time to go without wig, but we shall see.
My birthday, well wot can I say, it is imminent. On 8th March and yes it is the big one, although don't feel that old I can say.
Anyway, hope you are all good. Got another herceptin next tuesday, it comes round so fast I can tell you.
Take care and speak soon.
Love
Dawn

Hi girls - hope your half term is going well and you're not being driven mad!
Andrea - I'll be thinking of you next tuesday - funnily enough I too can't find the tattoos - hope they will be able to! Your new wig sounds very foxy! Are you wearing it lots? My hair started growing back before my last chemo. I was never completely shiny bald - more wispy, but it is now definitely making a come back. I kept my eyebrows although my eyelashes look a bit sad. I too wondered if it would all drop out after the last chemo - but that was nearly four weeks ago, and it's all still there, so am hoping it's here to stay.
Dawn - your hair must be quite long now. Will you let it all hang out in Florida? I'm wondering how long mine will be by tghe time of my holiday in April. You haven't told us when your birthday is. Hope we haven't missed it. Our meeting up date never happened - hopefully we can arrange another date.
Sarah - hope all is well with you, and you're not so stressed now. Your last week at work sounds awful - I reckon you should definitely finish a bit before your op so you can unwind a bit. Hopefully you're having a nice break in Bristol.
Well Pontins was ok - the kids had fun, and we had great weather. We went to the Dinosaur Park near Norwich which is a good day out, and apart from the uncomfortable sofa bed had a nice break. I'm looking forward to Malta though!
I took the boys to the British Museum today. I love all things ancient Greek and hoped it would rub off. They were not all that impressed by the Parthenon sculptures - but loved the Egyptian mummies! We had a lovely day.
Has anyone seen the film , I think it's called the Water Horse (about the loch ness monster)? I'm thinking of taking them but wondered what it was like. We're going to have a couple of quiet days at home now- they've still got Christmas presents they haven't played with, and I want them to make their own entertainment.
Anyway - hope you're all feeling well, let's try and meet soon
Tracey xx
Hi girls - sorry not been in touch this week but I have had a manic week at work - we moved offices on Wednesday and all the admin and planning for 1000 patients and staff down to me - feel absolutely knackered. I have only got 4 weeks to go until my op and am feeling really stressed so thinking perhaps I should get signed off from work a bit earlier than the op to give myself a rest. I have decided to go for the back muscle again with an implant and it is a 7 hour op so need to be fighting fit!!!
Also had to spend 2 hours at a parent and child study skills seminar on Thursday from 4.30 to 6.30 with eldest son re GCSE revision etc. It was so boring and I fell asleep twice - so glad I am no longer at school!! There is so much pressure on them now re grades etc - he has got interviews for 2 other 6th forms if he doesn't get the grades to get back into his school he is at at the moment.
Getting my head around the herceptin issue now - apparently I can't have it as I haven't had chemo recently and there are no other trials I am suitable for. I am trying not to think about it but have been particulalry stressed and stroppy this week so probably am underneath. Just very fed up with the whole thing.
Andrea - glad that all your tax is finished and rads have been planned. Rads are a breeze compared to chemo - just quite time consuming. Like the sound of a short blonde wig!! Probably be a few months until you can go wigless!! It will be good to get rid of them by the summer when it is hot.
Tracey - how are you getting on? Have a great time in Pontins - the kids will love it and at least you get a break. Know what you mean about not coming on here so often - I only look at bits that are relevant to me as all the info can be too much sometimes.
Dawn- how are you getting on? When is your birthday? Good news that the liver tumours responded well to treatment. How did you get on with your onc appointment?
Anyway going to log off now and have a glass of wine in front of tv - haven't seen husband all week much as he has been working or at football (yes football on valentines night!!! - I was not impressed!!) Off to Bristol for half term to see my sister and neice so will catch up with you all later.
Take care
S x
Hi girls,
Thanks for thinking of me and sorry I haven't been around for a while.....had last tax last weds so trying to chill out a bit. Rads planning was yesterday and that went okay. Now I have a week off from any treatment (it's half term so nice to spend it with the children) before rads start week after next.
Dawn, thinking of you and wishing and hoping that Herceptin is your wonder drug. Good news from the professor and hope you can hold onto that. I was in Suzi Wigs 2 weeks ago, but you had just had your trip to Guildford so guessed you wouldn't want to meet up then. If you feel like it you could email me your mob no. and next time I'm at IKEA we could catch up for a coffee.
Tracey, hope you are ok, and the night sweats ease and good luck with the Tamoxifen. Yes, it is overwhelming sometimes, so many heartbreaking situations so good to have a break. Have a great time at Pontins, I'm sure the children will love it. My rads also start on Feb 26th!! Had four tattoos yesterday and I can only find one so am hoping they can find them!!
Sarah, how are you? Been reading about your her results and I'm still so confused so heaven knows how frustrating it must be for you. Why can you not have herceptin, I just don't see how they work out the protocol for giving the drug. Would you consider more chemo (I assume you didn't have tax before) then maybe they could give it to you? Gggggrrrhh, just doesn't make sense if you will benefit from having the drug. Glad you seem to be closer to making a decision about your recon. Have you managed to find the date for the lingerie session at John Lewis? Would be great to have something to look forward to!!
I managed to get a wig 2 weeks ago....really short bleached blonde! sounds awful! it's a major style change but I wanted something light and manageable as we go into spring and I cannot keep getting away with hiding under my hats! How weird but my head hair has started growing again...it' very, very short - about 3 mm and wispy! Does anyone know if I'll lose it again? No eyebrow or eyelash growth though so any makeup just looks like a smudge which had been there from the day before!
Are we all still going to try and get together? Do you think we'll manage it before DAWN'S HOLIDAY TO FLORIDA???!!!
Dawn - hope you are busy getting those bits and bobs for your hols
Sarah, I know you are working but are you part time? What days are good for you? Hopefully we can work something out.....
Take care,
Lot of love, Andrea xxx
Hello everyone
Sarah - not long til that op! I didn't realise the recovery time was so long. I hope your work continue to pay you. Definitely some recuperation in the garden called for!
I too watched Dancing on Ice, I haven't seen it before this series but am right into it now!
Dawn - please let us know how your appointment with the onc goes - what the liver specialist told you sounds very good news.
I'm just killing time now waiting for rads to start. I left a message for the BC nurse today - but she hasn't called back yet. I'm not getting much sleep due to horrendous night sweats that wake me every two hours. I want to know if they'll let me take evening primrose oil or soemthing, now the chemo's over. i haven't been told when I'll start on Tamoxifen either.
re Pontins - I know, I know! I am the biggest holiday camp snob going - but it was ok when we went two years ago - smaller and not nearly as loud and busy as Butlins, and we are in the deluxe accomodation!!!! I really hope this beautiful weather lasts!
Andrea, not heard from you for a while. I know you've had a break from the site before. I've not been on so much, as I do find it a bit overwhelming sometimes. Let us all know how you are if you read this.
Love to all
Tracey xx
Hi All
Sorry again I must apologise for my lack of posts recently, can't explain why, apart from that I just seem to run out of time in the day, when jack sleeping I do ironing and catching up with stuff, then its Sophie's social life of couse, and the evenings I just end up flaking in front of the tv. Yep, becoming a couch potatoe me thinks!
We didn't do much today, decided after last week and events with liver man and my 3rd Herceptin, to take this easy if I can. Got Onc appointment on Wednesday, which I don't think I am looking forward to, as reckon will get "told you so" ... but did get letter from Professor (liver specialist) and apparently my liver tumours have responded "spectacularly" to treatment he said. Not sure what that means specifically, but has to be good news, evern though not operable.
I feel a little out of date with everything, as although I have been reading, I haven't really been absorbing if you know what I mean. But hope that you are OK, and I have slapt my wrists now and promise to do better in the future ... and be more in touch again.
Sarah am sorry to hear your news about Herceptin, but sounds like you are doing some research and finding out whats what. I hope that they sort your treatment out soon though and then you know whats what. If that makes sense. Hope the op goes OK on 14 March though, what is that for not really up to speed with ops as not had any.
Tracey, uummmm - pointins - am sure you will have a fab time, and hopefully the weather will hold out for you. If that is what the boys want though, who are to say no eh? But seriously, just enjoy and go with the flow. Be a bit of a break anyway,
Andrea, hope you are doing OK too and your treatment not taking it out of you too much, think you had some last week. I also remember, that we were maybe all meeting last week, which I forgot about, as not really been that sociable, but hopefully we can rearrange or maybe you can come to me.
Anyway, apologies again for being awol.
Take care and speak soon.
Lots of Love
Dawn

Hi all - just been watching Dancing on Ice - very taken with that Chris Fountain!!
Tracey - never been to Pontins but bet the kids will love it - if the kids are happy then I think it makes life a lot easier!! Hope the weather stays like today for you.
Dawn - hope you ok and kids not wearing you out too much - when are all your treats planned for??
Andrea - is all your chemo finished now? - hope you are getting over your last one ok.
Been doing a bit of research on the net and think that by having FEC and being on exemastane is good for HEr2+++ people so at least that is some consolation. I just think that I had the best treatment available at the time of my diagnosis and that is in the past and can't worry about what I didn't have as I can't get it now.
Next op is on 14 March at the PRUH - not my favourite place, I prefer Orpington but they aren't doing ops there any more. Have decided to go for another ld recon so will need another 3 months off work - not sure how much sick pay I have left? At least the weather will be nice hopefully so can recuperate in the garden.
Take care and speak soon

Hi all - hope you're all ok.
Dawn - when's your birthday? Hope hubby spoils you rotten on your spa weekend.
Sarah - I'm really sorry to hear they're saying it's too late for herceptin after your chemo. Hopefully you will have seen your onc by now, and have got some better news. What was the nurse thinking of saying that? Very thoughtless I think. Where are you having your op?
Andrea , hope you have been feeling ok after your tax. How many more to go ?
Yes my rads do start after half term - we're going to Pontins next weekend (the boys' choice, not mine!!). Don't know when I'll be starting tamoxifen. I'll probably go back to work at the end of April. We're going to Malta on the 8th, then I'm taking annual leave to cover the Easter holidays. I will be on short days for a while, I know they've got some jobs lined up for me!
Let me know how you all are!
Tracey xx
Hi Girls - Dawn good to hear from you - glad to hear you are bouncing back. Your March sounds fab - I saw Chicago a couple of years ago - you will have a brill night. Florida as well- bet you can't wait. How are you feeling after your Herceptin? Sophie and Jack sound like they are full on at the moment - my sisters baby is 8 months old and I think she is just realising how hard work it is - but fun!!!
Tracey - go for the pampering and relaxation bit - sounds fab!! When do you think you will go back to work? Perhaps you can get a phased return - I think everyone is entitled to that on full pay. Sounds like rads start after half term - that will be easier with the boys. Basil Brusg sounds great - i used to be frightened of him when I was younger!!
Got my HER2 results yesterday - I am positive BUT they can't now put me on the trial as I had a reoccurance since original diagnosis - great! I told my BC Nurse that I only wanted to find out my HER2 status if I could go on the trial and now I can't and can't get Herceptin as chemo finished in March 04 and Tykerb not approved yet - the only way I could have got it was on trial. I am now worried and can't do anything about it. Haved booked appt to see onc as all this was over the phone - my bc nurse said - 'well at least you are having your other mastectomy' - is this meant to be some consolation? Haven't decided yet but probably go for LD muscle again - looks great and will have matching pair. 5 weeks to go - just want it gone now.
Sorry been so moany - have just asked OH to bring home a nice bottle of wine -
Hope you all ok - speak soon
S x
Hello Dawn - it's great to hear from you again - glad you're bouncing back.
What a fab few weeks you've got coming up - hope you have a romantic night away with hubby and a champagne fuelled trip to London with the girls.
I saw Chicago a few years ago - I think with Denise Van Outen and Alison Moyet. Is Kelly Osborne still in it.? Really good show - when you're good to mama, mama's good to you.........
And then Florida.....!!!!
Andrea hope your tax was ok today, Sarah have you decided what you want re your op? Hope you're both ok.
The wig looks great, I keep it for 'best' which one of my friends thinks is hilarious! I wear the other one under a hat most days for the school run, and a scarf in the house.
Had my rads planning on monday. It was fine, the treatment starts on Feb 26th. I even shaved my armpits especially for the occasion.
Have managed to avoid my big boss for the lunch date - but will have to do it at some time. I've been called up to see our medical officer, hopefully it's not to medically retire me! No, it'll probably be to see if I'm fit to return to work - boo.
I am planning to go to our work's convalescent home in Oxfordshire for a bit of recuperation before I go back - have heard it is a brilliant place, and if I've ever needed a bit of pampering and relaxation, it's now!
Had busy weekend - Henry's 7th birthday, and 7 naughty boys for tea who we then had to ferry to the theatre to see Basil Brush. It was good fun though and they all loved it.
Hope you're alll feeling well, let me know what you're up to
Tracey xx
Hi All
Anne thanks for your comment and support. It is so lovely of you.
I do hope everyone else is well and doing Ok. Sorry not been too chatty recently, did find Fridays news a bit hard, and think put me on a downer for a while, but hopefully am bouncing back again now slowly. Think it was more seeing how many lesions I had, as my onc led me to believe there were only 2, so got me upset and brain went into overdrive .... dunno if you know where i am coming from here, but having liver mets is so hard to live with and the fear is just undescribable really!!!
Anyway, enough of that, am back again, although I also have to admit that I really don't seem to have the same amount of time to spend on here as I did. Don't know why really, but must be Jack keeping me busy in the mornings and then out and about with Sophie's social life!!! Can you believe it, got back from my Herceptin yesterday about 1.30 and she was waiting at the door, ready to go OUT to her friends house. THey had apparently discussed it at preschool - cmon, they are only 4 years old, what is it gonna be like in 10 years time!!! OMG!!!!
It is also my BIG birthday very soon actually, although don't feel that old have to say, and have got lots arranged. Me and OH off away for the night and his sis and bruv in law, coming down to look after the muppets (are they mad???). We are gonna go to a spa hotel locally but need to find out if OK to have treatments!!! Should be lovely though whatever and 24 hours of freedom!!! Then the following weekend me and 8 mummy mates are all of up London to the theatre, staying overnight. Wanted to see Grease but sold out, so off to see Chicago. Can't wait for that either and another 24 hours freedom. Yippeee. Then guess what, 2 weeks later, we are off to Florida ... what a brilliant March!!!!
Sorry for bragging, but so looking forward to it all and need something to keep me smiling.
Tracey hope you doing well and the wig looking good. Not sure if you have treatment this week. I have sort of lost touch with whats what on here, as not really been reading the threads, just had quick glances through them to make sure nothing important happened if you know what I mean.
Andrea and Sarah, hope you two are both OK too. Let me know how you are doing and what treatment you have this week or soon.
Take care all and apologies again.
Love
Dawn

Hi all
Dawn - have just read your post about your appointment. I am so sorry it did not go well. There is nothing I can say or do- but just wanted you to know I have been thinking about you and send loads of cyber hugs.
Have been posting on 1st tax - bit often read your posts on other threads.
You are so supportive of everyone.
Please take care, love
Anne x
Hello all
Dawn - been thinking about you lots today - really hope you got some positive feedback from your appointment. Please let us all know.
Andrea - lovely photos - gorgeous kids! Hope your tax goes ok and you don't feel too bad - how many left? Glad to hear you got your wig - my first one was too dark, but I wore it lots, mostly under a hat though!
Sarah - what a shame about your weekend - I tend to agree with Dawn though and would flex the plastic!
Have a great weekend everyone - going to be a cold one!
Tracey x
Hi girls,
Sorry for not responding as haven't been logging onto the forums over the past week or so...just needed a bit of a break. Please go ahead and meet up next week, but I'm sure I won't be up for it as have tax on Weds and Neulasta on Thurs so think by Friday will be very achey!
Good luck today Dawn, Sarah, sorry your weekend won't be going ahead...hope you manage to get something sorted. Tracey, glad you are happy with your wig.
Love A xx
Hiya
Tracey, glad that the wig is great, certainly looked it on you. I am off to see the liver specialist tomorrow in Guildford, the one my friend Kay is using. Am abslutely sh*****g myself about it, as not sure what answer I actually want. Oh well, this time tomorrow will know what it is all about.
Sarah, so sorry to hear that your night away has gone out the window, such a shame as you were so excited about it. Just go and stick on credit card, enjoy yourself, I know that is my attitude now - life is too short!!! My next Herceptin is on Tuesday, gotta be there (Southend hospital) for 9am!! Try not to be late this time. Hopefully they will sort themselves out soon with your results and let u know what is what. Sarah, your photo was the Tunisia one wasn't it - well I thought it was stunning and you looked amazing.
As for the meeting up - well can do next Friday 8th, and John says can take the day off if necessary. So need to find out what Andrea is up to and then make decision.
Anyway, hope everyone doing OK. Will let you know how things go tomorrow.
Take care, off to settle down for trial and retribution.
Love
Dawn

Hi Girls - got your email Tracey - how was lunch in London? I'm fine for 8th but not sure about Andrea as I think it is just after her last tax? Having a cr** day at the moment - husbands car just broken down and he has been towed to the garage and is going to cost a few hundred pounds so bang goes our night away tomorrow - looks like it will be a takeaway and bottle of wine at the rate we are going!! Oldest one won't comitt to babysitting little one and in laws busy - hey ho!!
Good luck for tomorrow Dawn - hope you get the answers and info you need - when is your next Herceptin? They still haven't got my results - they had to send off for my original tumour from a lock up somewhere as they don't test the DCIS from last summer - so might be next week now. I know if I am positive it will send me into a panic but need to stop worrying about things that I don't need to.
Speak soon
Take care
Sarah x x x
P.S Tracey that was my real hair in the photo!! Chemo finished in March 2004.
Hello ladies - hope you all got my email. Let me know if you didn't - altho not sure if I saved it........
Dawn - the wig is great I feel so much happier in it than the other, although I'm still wearing the old one with a hat on for the school run!
What appointment have you got tomorrow? I really hope it goes well for you,and they are able to offer something positive.
I can do the 8th but only in the day time as my husband's going out in the evening, and I've got to to take the monsters to their swimming lesson.
Can't do the 15th as we're going to Pontins.
Let me know what's best for everyone
Tracey x
Hello Girlies
Wots going on here, we have forgotten all about our thread with our emails flying back and forth.
Hope you are all OK and no one is suffering this week with treatment. Yeah, brain dead again, as cannot remember who is doing what.
Tracey hope the new wig looks fab, as I am sure it will, cos the one in the shop look absolutely gorgeous on you, although you didn't like the blonde streaks. Hope everything else is good with you though, and the lunch with the boss is sorted.
Sarah and Andrea, hope you are OK too. Now did we sort out next Friday or not. I have to admit that have not asked my hubby yet if he can take that day off ... will do that today.
Speak to you all later
Lots of Love

Hi All
Sorry about Stephanie confusing you - my little girls best friend got one yesterday and guess who then demanded it all day!!! So i gave in again, and also meant me and Tracey could grab a quick drink in relative peace as she was playing with it!!
Just sent an email to you all, so not gonna write much here.
Can't remember the name of my wig, but pleased with it and it was so nice when Tracey said she liked it and how real it looked, makes one feel so much better.
Well Scotland what can I say, off to the in-laws, but should be fun, although don't reckon OH's mum knows what she is gonna get with little jack sprat!!!
Anyway ladies have fun evening. I am trying to find some new clothes as got nothing, and bought myself some knee length black leather boots on Sunday in a moment of madness, but they are so nice, so want leggings and some tops to go with my black skirt (have not worn a skirt for about 4 years!!!).
Lots of Love
Dawn
xx
Hee hee sorry should have been more specific! Stephanie is the girl with pink hair in Lazy Town (tv prog)- you probably wont have heard of it as your boys are too old!
Dawn bought a Stephanie doll for her little girl ! Funnily enough though the wigs do have names - I've just bought 'Celine' and the ratty one I'm wearing is 'Sashta' . (probably supposed to be Sasha but printed wrong on label!) . The names certainly do not make me like them more!!!
Hope they have all the info for you tomorrow, and your results are back.
T x
Hi girls - glad you had a great time and who is Stephanie !!!! I presume that is the name for one of the wigs - by naming them are we meant to like them more?!?
Just trying to compile a list of questions for research nurse so short post tonight.
Tracey have a relaxing session tomorrow and Dawn have a good break in Scotland - I have never been ther - it is meant to be beautiful.
Take care
S x
Hello everyone
Yes Dawn and I did have a great afternoon and she was patient beyond belief as I went through the wig shop's entire stock! Her children are beautiful, a real credit to her.
Really hope we can all get together soon - I know fridays are best for Sarah - so hopefully we can arrange a date.
Dawn have a great break in Scotland - hope it's not too cold up there!! Hope you didn't get into too much trouble for buying Stephanie!
Have got reflexology again tomorrow, it definitely is relaxing.
Hope everyone is ok,
Tracey x
Hi Everyone
Well I have had a really lovely day - met up with Tracey at Lakeside about 12.45 (oops I was late, but blame the children!!!). We went to the wig shop and had good look around in there and got Tracey sorted out, although she had to order one in the right colour. Tracey is a lovely lady though, and I was scared stiff of meeting, but needn't have worried. And very brave too in the wig shop, as she went "commando" in the cubicle, without the curtain drawn, much braver than me i can say. And my daughter showed her no mercy by wandering in and out etc.
Then I dragged her to Clarks as my daughter needed new shoes and eventually managed a quick drink, after having to change one smelly boys nappy!! LOL.
But, we had a great time, well I think so anyway. Definitely like to organise another meet, with you two, Andrea and Sarah, and of course, anyone else that wants to join in. If I have notice I can hopefully offload the little ones and be able to have more relaxing time and meet earlier, as won't have to worry about feeds and sleeps!!!
Hope everyone else is good this week and anyone having treatment hope it is going OK. Not got mine til 5 Feb as put back by 5 days to get it on a Tuesday and not Thursday.
Scotland on Thursday this week, for 4 days, but think will take laptop too, so hopefully be able to pick up someone else's internet and see whats going on!!!
Take care all, and Tracey, thank you for a lovely afternoon.
Love
Dawn

Hi Everyone
Sarah hope you had a good night on your hen night and sure you had a fab time in the end, even though you weren't in the mood for it.
Tracey, can't do tomorrow morning to meet in Lakeside, but could try tuesday morning, although Sophie at preschool 9 - 11.30 and then nothing for rest of day. So either have to cram in between them times, or meet after that but with two muppets in tow, as John can't have day off, as we are off to Scotland on Thursday. Let me know if this any good or leave til another time when can off load the kids!! Hope you feeling OK though and tell your hubby to stop monopolising the computer. I saw that you had logged onto the other site and sent you a pm with my email so hopefully we can all sort something out. Although gone and bought new wig ....
Just to let you know too, I have been out today and bought a new wig. Am no longer blonde, OMG!!! I tried on 6 different ones, 4 were blonde and 2 auburny with blond highlights. I had been in the other day with the two muppets and tried a really nice blonde bob,but it was not there today. So, after trying them all on, and one about 5 times, I settled on an auburn highlighted blonde bob, and really liked it, but am now having my doubts. Will try to get piccy and email to you all.
Hope everyone is well though and will catch up later.
Love

Hi - how are we all doing? Andrea how was your 2nd tax? Have you just got one more to go after this?
Tracey it's hard when you can't sleep - treatment is draining enough without feeling extra knackered from lack of sleep - do they know if night sweats are linked to chemo or hormone changes? They are the one thing I didn't suffer from (had ovaries out 3 years ago) but know what it is like not to sleep - problem is I wake at about 2.00 then your mind races all night and I don't get back to sleep until about 5.00 then up again at 6.30 for school/work. I do finding plugging myself into my ipod helps though.
Dawn- did you get a new wig? - how long is your hair now? I finished chemo in a March and by the end of May could get by with lots of gel on my dry/curly tuffts. It's not a great look though really is it? one of the girls on the school run had chemo at the same time as me and died hers blonde asap - it looked great but I didn't have the courage to do it - was worried it would all fall out again.
Meant to be off to a hen night tonight but not really in the mood - my best friends mum and dad are getting remarried to each other! Just feel quite mentally drained this week - had parents evening and mock gcse results for my eldest - not great as at the rate he is going will have to change for 6th form - his school are really strict on getting back in. I thoght he did really well a's and b's in everything except one c and one e but they want b's in every subject - so met with head of year and explained home life and that I was due back in hospital in March for more surgery etc and with everything else going on might be having a knock on effect on kids - hoping they take this into account. So we have trawled round 6th form open evenings this week. His attitude is chill mum - I have no problems and has now disappeard out to Bluewater for the day! Seeing the research nurse on Wednesday re this TEACH trial - don't know if they will have my results by then - I know what you mean about being paranoid Dawn - I don't know what is best - get loads of info and know everything or stick my head in the sand?
Anyway off to M&S to stock up on alcohol for tonight - I think a nice bottle of Rose might do the trick.
Hope to speak you all soon - Fridays are good for me as that is my day off.
Have a great weekend
Sarah x x x
Hello - Dawn thanks for wondering about me - you are so kind! Truth is hubby has been monopolisng laptop as he's dong a college course, and by the time he gets off it, I 'm getting the kids sorted out, then thinking about bed myself. I'm not sleeping well (I'm sending this at 0530!)-waking up every couple of hours bathed in sweat. I've been going to bed quite early with a mug of cocoa and watching tele. Missed Mistresses but hope to find it on catch up TV.
I haven't registered on the other site yet but will do today.
Dawn I'm so glad your lunch went well - sounds like you had a great time. I'm not doing anything mon or tues this coming week if you fancy a browse round the wig shop and a coffee (talk about living the high life!!!).
My boys go to a child minders on mon, altho I'm still off work I wanted to keep their routine going, and keep the childminding place! - so I've no time restrictions. On tues I'd have to leave about 230 to make sure I got over the bridge on time. After lunch either day is good for me so let me know if you can do it!
How are you feeling with herceptin? Does it affect hair regrowth? If not is yours starting to come back? I am so desperate for mine to, and haven't yet finished chemo - altho last next week - yipee!
Hope everyone else is doing ok - Andrea hope you're feeling well after tax.
Love from Tracey xx
Hi All
Making sure you all OK although have found Andrea and sarah on the other site still waiting for Tracey. Would be good to organise a meet together at some point. Managed to meet some of the ladies from my secondary thread yesterday and was really good to put faces to names and have good chat really although think we were all really nervous.
Tracey, where are you honey not heard from you in a while and trying to sort out your email address.
Let us know you are OK. Andrea and Sarah hope you are both OK and catch up tomorrow, as not on here for long, just a quick flick through.
Take care

Hi All
Tracey I use the same id on the other site, not sure about the others. Sarah had a quick look for you and couldn't find a sarah35 on there. So you must use another alias. Andrea had look for you too and again couldn't find AndreaN. Am I just simple or boring, using the same id all the time!! LOL
Another thing Tracey, if you are popping in the wig shop next week let me know and will maybe get there too, although my times a bit restricted, normally go after muppets lunch like today, went about 1is, as have to pick Sophie up at 11.30, and jack has sleep in mornings, so usually try to get him to bed by 10 (just when it all opens). I tried on a posh type wig last time, had just come in they said, but wasn't sure, then found this bob one, but cannot remember name or style.
Am gonna watch last weeks mistresses in a mo and then watch tonights too, hope it is good!! Off to bed - I take it that is to watch tv then from your comment about taggart. Enjoy.
Sarah sounds like you had a good time while the party was going on. Hope you find out about Herceptin too, I am now getting paranoid about whether it is working for me, spose will have to wait til next scan etc. But gotta stay positive.
Andrea, hope your tax goes ok tomorrow, will be thinking about you. Are you having 3 or more? Hope side effects are not too bad and you don't suffer. Thanks for info on wigs, know which site you mean as I got my 2 little hats from there, but not sure about ordering a wig, as prefer to try on and see what its like. Did order one from ebay and hate it, so think will just use the shop in lakeside.
Anyway girlies, get in touch with me on the other site so can swap emails. I can't find you although would probably hazard a guess, but seen as my id is the same, easier for you.
Take care and hope you and everyone else is OK on here. Sallylou where are you - not heard from you in a while too.
Lots of love
Dawn
xx
Hee hee - by jove I think I've got it!!!!! Before I register on 'the other site' - just wondered if you all use the same user names, so I know who you are there. Thnaks for all your cryptic clues!
Thanks for giving me all your experiences of FEC - Andrea - we'll be being radiated at about the same time, so can compare red bits! Hope your tax is bearable tomorrow.
Dawn - - I nearly went into that wig shop today! Will probably get over there next week for a little look! I am in thinking like you - would like a new one, but feel can't really justify the expense as near the end of treatment. But then I have been thinking my hair will not be fit for public view for a good few months, and I've saved a fortune in hairdressing costs - and hey - I think I can justify any expense if it makes me feel better. I'll have a look and see - if there's one I can't resist I will get it. What style have you got now? Mine's a Rene of Paris - Shashta. It's a bit like a Victoria Beckham bob - but with a dodgy parting and that odd nylon sheen - altho it has got good highlights and loads of my friends have said how fab it looks - but they would wouldn't they!!!! That's why they're my friends!
Maybe I'll put wear it to the Beckham academy and see if anyone mistakes me for Posh. Not thin enough though and boobs not quite like hers now - not that they ever were, nor would I want them to be.
Sarah - I can't believe how much that party cost! Way out of my league too! My son is taking five friends to see the Basil Brush show for his 7th birthday. Much more manageable!
Funny you mentioned ditching the anti sickness meds. On my last FEC I stopped taking them on the second day - after I'd had all the sickness, and feel really well this week. Oh well I am just counting the days until next friday!!!
Dawn - re the runny nose, I'm not on herceptin but have definitely noticed more drips than usual. I think mine is due to having no nostril hair to stem the flow!
Off to bed now - i missed the first episode of Mistresses - so will watch Taggart. Will see if it's on catch up tv as have heard it's good.
Catch up again soon
Tracey xx
Hi girls - hope you are all surviving this rain- picked Harry up from football training and got sooo wet -mud and wet stuff everywhere at the moment.Beckham party was great but for 16 kids cost the mum £400 not including cake or party bags!!! Not in my budget I'm afraid - best bit was it was for 3 hours so went into O2 with girlfriends for nice lunch in wine bar - best way to spend Saturday lunch time -beats normal routine of shopping and cleaning. Unfortunately David did not make an appearance!
Andrea - good luck for tomorrow - how many have you got left to go? I think you will find rads a breeze compared to chemo. I think re Herceptin they only give it straight after chemo but as i was originally diag in 2003 they didn't routinely test then. last summer I had high grade DCIS and they don't test that for her2 either- so this is my only chance to find out and then if HER2+ possibly get treatment. Results will be 3-4 weeks though. I think you are thinking of Porta Puensa (?)- that is very posh in Spain - we are going to the Universal Resort near Barcelona not quite so posh but looks fab on the First Choice Website.
Tracey - my FEC got worse too and I had so many side effects from anti sickness meds I didn't bother with them on the last FEC and just threw up for 48 hours but then started to feel better quicker. Only one to go - keep going it is so worth it.
Dawn - love all the cryptic clues!! Hope your cold is starting to clear up - there are just so many bugs around at the moment it's hard to avoid germs.
Off to sort out packed lunches etc then sit down to watch that new series mistresses - love it!
Trying to sort out pm on other site - so hopefully you might hear from me soon.
Sarah x x x
Hi Dawn - thanks for correcting my cryptic clue (I obviously have lost my ability to multi task and watching TV at the same time as trying to post is completely beyond me!). Just a thought on the wig, I want to get a new one, even though I have two (one of which I haven't even worn yet!!) they are not the monofilament type. I have seen a couple I like (it's the Raquel Welch range) but they are quite pricey. However the place on the net, US based where you can buy the hats, sell them for around the same price but in dollars...which makes them half the price (or thereabouts!!) than in the UK. I suppose it's ok to order from them if you know the one you want. Sorry for any typos....rushing as dinner is ready! Andrea x
Hi All
Andrea will pm you on the other site and hopefully exchange emails. If you get sarahs let me know. Sallylou is on there too, so sort out her email too.
Tracey hope the last FEC goes well and you don't suffer too much, but at least you know it is the end and then the next stage of the treatment. Andrea was correct with the other site first letters of breast cancer and then it is a dog food with s on the end (is 4 letters), so as she says it is slang for friend, mate etc and begins with p!!! Then just google it. Would be good to meet up though as we are all so near to each other!!!
Hope everyone is OK though and doing well. My nose WILL NOT stop running given up really. Went into the wig shop again in lakeside today, only briefly with the muppets, but my wig is looking a bit yuk I think and saw a really nice one but soooooooooo expensive, and my hair is growing, but think am gonna go for it ....
Speak to you later and good luck tracey

Hi girls,
Hope everyone is well (whatever that means nowdays!).
Dawn, Florida sounds briiillllll, you lucky thing....bet you can't wait. As soon as I have posted enough on the other site I will private msg you with my contact details. I don't like to put too much info on here as I know it's open to anyone to view.
I hope all is going ok with your herceptin.
Sarah, think we spoke on the other site but am losing track. Can I ask why it is too late for you to have herceptin now? I don't get these rules and regulations. How was the Beckham Academy? is Porta Aventura that posh place in Majorca (pls excuse my ignorance!)
Tracey, I found the FEC got worse each time (I only had three). No sickness with the first and then the third was awful, couldn't stop popping the anti-sickness pills. Good luck with your last one. My rads start at the end of Feb, roll on the end of chemo! You can ask your bc nurse who may have the details of the other site, it starts with bc and then another word for friends - and a dog food brand - (3 letters)!! Not sure how much of that will be edited! I don't quite understand why we can't mention it as we all need support. I think there is a lot of competition between the two sites but I'm not quite sure why.
Tax #2 tomorrow, aaarrgghhh!!
Blimey, just looked at Alan Titchmarsh on the telly and has anyone noticed his hair. It was grey yesterday!! Lovely guy though!!
Hopefully once Tracey is registered we can use the PM facility to organise a meet.
Take care girls, Andrea xxx
Hi everyone - have just lost my message so this one won't be as long!!!!
Sarah - hope you get your HER2 reslts soon, and that they give you the best meds. Bet you can't wait for your holiday, I know I can't. You'll wow them all on the beach!
I had both my boys at Queen Marys. We too are no strangers to A and E!!. Mine are 5 and 6 - how old are yours? Please let me know what the Beckham academy party was like.
Dawn and Andrea - what have you been up to - hope all is well.
Yep - one more FEC to go - last one was the worst so far - but I don't care if this one makes me feel sick - I want it over with! Rads start in feb, then I should think about going back to work. I want to get some decorating done first though!
I don't know what this other ' site that cannot be mentioned ' is. Can someone drop me some cryptic clues so I can join?
Love to all
Tracey
Hi all - not feeling so sore now just a bit jaded - got paper work through today with all my dates on for surgery and pre op assessment and date with research nurse as they have sent my old sample off for testing for Herceptin as if positive will be eiligble for TEACH trial. Trouble is if HER2+ve I can go on trial for Tykerb but won't know if I am getting drug or placebo. Also can't get Herceptin as too late - my thoughts are all over the place - just beenliving with this for nearly 5 years now and never seems to end. I also know though that I am fortunate that my hospital offers all this.
Dawn - I am S00000000000 excited for you - Florida was our best ever holiday - Animal Kingdom is great especially the Safari, Lion King show and new rollercoaster ride with the Yeti. Water parks are FAB as well - please can I hide in your suit case? Sophie will love Magic Kingdom and the weather is just right then- not too hot but not rainy either. We went end of March beg April - don't forget to take an empty case for all the shopping!!!
Tracey - just down the road from me in Sidcup - I had my last baby in Queen Mary's and seem to frequent casulty with broken arms etc for the boys!! Have you got just one more FEC to go? I think Queen Mary's and Princess Royal will merge - I work for Bromley PCT so we get various emails about it - the Chartwell unit at Farnborough is great but hopefully you will have been discharged by then.
Andrea - goo dluck with your next chemo - hope they sort the right meds out for you.
We have also booked a holiday to Porta Aventura in Spain in July - hopefully I will be looking like Miss World with my new boobs in a bikini by then!!! Just need to get rid of the flabby stomach - perhaps they can do a bit of lipo while I am under!!!
Would be great to meet up - I have joined the dark side if you know what I mean!
Take care - I am off to have a large glass of red wine for medicinal purposes - haven't drunk since NYE - then off to the David Beckham Academy for a party for Harry tomorrow - shame David won't be there!
Sarah x xx
Hi all - sorry not beeen on for a few days - our wirless connection died- but all up and running now!
Been catching up with all your posts - Dawn - are you going away this year? Ha ha - lucky you- sounds fantastic - is it just the four of you or are you taking a crowd. As I saw you had five bedrooms I was wondering if there's one going spare?!!!!
Really glad the herceptin is going ok - you sound really upbeat - that's great!
Andrea - hope you tax goes well, and the new steroids do the trick. I know what you mean about all the drugs - my bathroom cabinet is bulging, and I hate taking stuff. Well done for braving IKEA! Did you buy lots? I love the kitchen bit, and always buy loads of odds and sods that I don't need!
Sarah - sorry you've been sore , hope it's calmed down - have you decided about the other side yet? I'm just up the road from you at Queen Marys Sidcup. There is talk of department closures and oncology being transferred to Farnborough at some time. Won't be for a while tho - and I'm hoping that my file will be on a dusty shelf in archives by then and I'll have been well and truly discharged!!!!
Was quite sick after Fec 5 - and have felt quite strange. I know it's accumulative, and this has definitely been the worst cycle. But, hey only one to go. I've been tired too, but haven't been sleeping well, so hardly surprising! Have felt really well today though.
I just want to get on with rads, get my hair back and go back to work!!
I've also just booked a week away - we're going to Malta in April. We went there before the boys were born - it is the loveliest friendly place, and really easy to explore using local buses. I won't be able to sunbathe after rads, so wanted somewhere with loads to see and nice weather. Hopefully it will be sunny but not too hot. Can't wait!!! We've also got a weekend booked at Pontins - the boys love it - particularly the dinosaur park near Norwich - so it will be a nice break!
Hope you're all set for a nice weekend - my little one has a party to go to tomorrow, but nothing else planned, so nice and quiet I hope!
love to all
Tracey xx
Hi Everyone
Sarah hope you feeling better today and not so sore after your inflation. And that things OK for you.
Andrea, you should have given me call (if you had my number), as could have come to see you, only 6 mins down the road for me. If you member of other site, can swap details. Not allowed to mention it as mods will edit it. Hope you didn't spend to much money in IKEA.
Tracey hope that you are doing OK too. Not heard much from you lately. Hope you not suffering too much from your last FEC. If you are, hopefully you are getting better now.
Can I now please tell you my great, no fantastic news. Am sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited now. We have booked our holiday. Yipppeeeeeee. Going on 30 March til 12 April, flying Virgin Atlantic to Disneyland Florida, staying in a 5 bed villa, with private pool and also part of a gated complex. Have paid for my travel insurance which covers my dreaded disease, and all we have to sort out now is the hire car. Can't wait. According to virgin it is 79 days to go!!! Have I peeeeeed you all off yet. Try not to remind you too often.
Anyway, hope everyone is ok. Had my 2nd herceptin today and apart from us being 30 mins late, and then it going quite slowly, it all went OK and no side effects. Think I will have a permanent runny/snotty nose for the rest of my life. Chemo nurse said its worse as nostril hairs all gone .... charming ..... but hopefully will get better in few months!!!
Take care and catch up soon, and how about trying to organise a meet. Although hard due to the mods not letting us swap emails etc, but would be good (unless any of you on the other side and then can swap emails), either Feb or beginning March otherwise have to be after my HOLIDAY!!! Oooops
Lots of love
"So excited" Dawn
