My head is a mess! I either have Liver mets or not!

Hi,

I wrote a thread with ref to the Drs getting it wrong and that they had misdx my liver mets! Well that was three wks ago! I dared not believe that I had no liver mets as the liver biopsy came back “normal” But people around me was saying that you cannot get any better than the biopsy!

Well I was rushed into hospital 28th June with V.high temp & blood pressure.
I was then dx with Neutropenic Sepsis - blood poisoning! I have been in all week in isolation and have been let home for the day - but back in tonight!!!

The Drs are now saying that thay are not ruling out the possibilty of me still having liver mets!! I am going for an MRI this monday to hopefully get more answers.
But how can they get it so wrong AGAIN!!!
My head is so messed up - OH is really fed up and just wants answers and he needs someone to blame and you know what men are like when that happens???

sorry for the rant I am just sooooooooooo fed up…

well I better go and spend some time with the OH and the kids

Thanks for reading
Hugs

I do hope its all clear and wish you all they luck it the world hun must be worrying time for you all.

Love and prayers are with you

Joanne

well Mel

that’s just about the pits isn’t it? talk about confusing - very very difficult for you and your family

not that this helps but I know someone who’s liver just stopped working for a bit - they got it going again - it regenerated itself - nothing to do with breast cancer and she is all right now - they thought it maight have been drink(no), food poisoning(anyone’s guess) …

good luck with everything and hang on in there - we are all tougher than we look!

presumably you are feeling a bit better now ?

lots of love FB xx

Hi Mel - of course I remember your amazing posting saying that, after all, you did not have liver mets. So to read that you have been really poorly, and that you still don’t really know what is going on is just the pits. After all this messing about you, and your husband, are owed the very best of care, and clear explanations. Do hope you are getting that. Sounds as though when you wrote you had to go back into hospital again. This is just to say thinking of you and do please let us know how you are when you can. Biggest of hugs and love Sarah xx

Hi,
this is serious c…p and just not fair. You are doing so well to fight your way through all this. I cannot even imagine what you are and have been through. Hold tight and we are all praying for good news, you really deserve it. Hugs

Thanks to all

I am out from hospital now.
Off to have my MRI today…
Surely my onc would not have said that she is sure there is no liver mets if she was unsure! But only to half heartly retract it!
I wish that some DRs wouuld not treat us like robots with no feelings. Here I am thinling that I did have a good team behind me, but now I am not
so sure.
Well I also have my last taxotere this friday - I cant believe I made it to the end No 6!

Thanks again for all your kind words

Hugs

Well welcome home anyway Mel, I am sure you will be much more comfortable in your own bed - but don’t rush round doing too much! So sorry that your confidence in your medical team has been so shaken, and do hope that once all the test results are back you and OH can sit down with one of the senior consultants and get to the bottom of all this (and of course hoping for you that the good news you were given can be confirmed). Good luck for your last taxotere - at least that will be another stage out of the way. Thinking of you with hugs and please let us know what happens. Poor you, you’ve had a rotten time recently. Love Sarah xx

mel, i cant believe in this day and age that the doctors can tell you that they thought you no longer had liver mets and then ? change there minds. If they are unsure they should say so! It is mental cruelty and they need to give you some answers. How have they changed there minds, have you had any more tests or scans?. taxotere really seems to knock you for six and perhaps your liver too. good luck with the scan and last tax. will be thinking of you x

You are so right Mel. During onc app last week I was asked to speak with a student oncologist who asked me what she could do to be a better doctor. I told her to be patient with her patients and not to treat them as just a number.

Hope they soon get to the bottom of your problems and that it is NOT liver mets.

Jennyx

Oh Mel you have been through the mill 5 different ways and back again, what a torture for you and your family. You need to get some answers for the sake of your sanity, maybe if your medical team can’t do this they need to refer you to a full time liver specialist asap.

please let us know how you get on

cathy

Hi,
I agree you want a second opinion asap with the top person in your area just to put your mind at rest. You need it to be able to get it out of your mind and to be totally convinced. I cannot see them even arguing after all that you have been through.
On a brighter note, glad you are out of hospital and hope you can at least enjoy being at home with your family around. Hope the MRI went smoothly today and brings some good news and understanding.
I think you are amazing not to have punched somebody on the nose through all this

HI Mel, I cannot believe what you have been thorugh. I really hope you get good news following your MRI today. x

Well Ladies,I thought that I would give you an update on how I got on with my MRI!
I did not like it put it that way - I was stuck in the machinw for an hour, uncomfortable, tired, hot and getting stressed.
But what I did not know at the time was that I had Pheumonia & pleurisy… So ended up back in hospital…

Anyway to cut a long story short I am ok know and I have had my MRI results.
My onc phoned me up Friday thje 18th July which in itself is a milestone as it is my hubbys birthday it was a year ago on the same day I was dx with
BC. So when my onc phoned I was almost convinced it was bad news - wrong I am clear of any liver mets at the moment!
It is just bad scarring from all the trauma my liver has been through the last year!
OMG OMG OMG
My Hubby could finally have something to celebrate on his birthday.

Thank you to every one for all the kind words
Hugs to all
