Well I actually had a meeting at the home today, where they apoogised and said the ex manager had not followed procedure.
They agreed to extra time off ( as recommended by OHU ) when neccessary, will honour holidays, and reassured me reference my other concerns.
Now I am back in the dilemma of '' Do I or Don't I ''!!!
Personally I think thats a very wise decision to stay put. Other BETTER opportunities will come your way... don't be disallusioned... think of this as a temporary blip!

Thanks for your replys, I still have not heard anything from them......as much as I've had enough in my present job, I do not think I can take the risk on the other one.
I was so happy when I was offered the position in September and was ready to leave my present job ( have been there for 18yrs on and off )......now I feel very disillusioned and disappointed.

i agree with the others - make a list of pros and cons. Sometimes it helps to see it all written down in black and white.
think about what support you would get (emotionally) too.
I would be very wary about changing jobs, especially given your problems to date. The main reservation I have is that you now need to be in post for two years before they need to give you a reason for dismissal. Of course, you would possibly have a case under the disability discrimination act, but it would be a hassle if you had to prove your case. Personally, I wouldn't think it worth making the move unless the new position is your dream job or pays you shed loads of money.
Unless your current job is unbearable, or this one is tons more money or what you've always wanted--something that makes it worth the risk that it may turn into a nightmare--it sounds to this impartial observer like you should run like mad in the opposite direction. Nobody there is talking to each other or to you, and that doesn't seem like a good sign. But it is (as usual!) about weighing up the risks and benefits.
I was offered a new job as housekeeper at a nursing home, but after completing the medical questionnaire the manager withdrew the offer, I fought my case and she re-offered it subject to OH clearence....that was in September....there has been endless e-mails, letters, phonecalls, the then manager is 'no longer in their employment'!....and it was only on the 17th December that I finally got a call from OH....this was after me persistently pushing.....they said they would pass information to their doctor, and rang me back that afternoon to say doctor had no concerns but was recommending manual handling training and to be allowed above average time off,......well I had a letter with a start date of 14th January....(even though they know I have to give 4 wks notice)....they addressed the manual handling training but not the other recommendation.....so the saga continues!!!
Now I am left wondering if it would really be safe to give up my current job for this one anyway given the problems I have had so far?
