Re: New primary -chemo twice?

Hi LaineyK
sorry to hear you are in a similar position. Good luck for the 13th!
I have got an intermediate score on the Oncotype test. My Consultant is recommending more chemo because the new tumours developed on Tamoxifen so might be resistant to hormonal treatments.
4 cycles of TC has been suggested & I might try the cold cap this time round to see if I can hang on to some hair.
I have a persistent seroma from my surgery that got infected, so can't start anything until it has healed up.
It has taken a while to get used to the idea of doing it all again, but I have decided to go for it xx

Re: New primary -chemo twice?

Hello Becks,

have just read your post and your history has some similarities to mine. I was diagnosed with lobular bc in 2013, had mx and chemo (last one 3 years ago today...facebook memories!). Discharged from clinic in May and recalled after annual mammogram in July. Now have ductal bc with lymph node involvement. Also grade 2 ER+ despite Tamoxifen. Had mx in August, sort of balances me up, and am also waiting for oncotyping to see if I will respond to chemo. Oncologist told me couldnt have the red one again but not sure about the others. Sense of dread if I have to do it again but managed last time and will do again if need be. Get my results 13 October. XX

New primary -chemo twice?

Hi,
I have been diagnosed with multifocal lobular bc on the other side to my original diagnosis 3 years ago. I have lymph node spread and am waiting for the results of a test to predict whether I will benefit from chemo for these tumours.
Just wondering if anyone has been through similar?
It's grade 2 ER +ve again.
Did you have the same chemo regime a second time or different drugs?
Wondering if I can face doing it all again so soon, but have young kids so need to do everything possible.....
