Hope you feeling ok this morning.

Maisie, Got through last night, not too bad this morning, you ok?

Dawn, thanks for your post, 2 down (1/3 of the way there) getting there xx

Krissy, Very fuzzy but as said above not actually sick (thank goodness).

Carolyn, Nice to hear from someone down the line, hope everything goes ok with recon later this year.

Well its only 7.35 been up since 5.30 and feeling weary already. Need to take the poor dogs out for a walk and hope fresh air might liven me up.

Take care all

Re: New to forum

Hi,
I am 3 years down the line with a right mx and lymph node clearance 2 pos. I had 2 tumours both grade 2. My first chemo (4 x epirubicin 4 x cmf)i was a bit sicky but told them at the nxt one and they tweaked my anti sickness meds and that helped I felt a bit out of sorts the first week then perked up for the following 2. I still managed to arrange things for my good 2 weeks Rod Stewart concert, Lionel Ritchie concert visiting, shopping etc I felt quite well no major fatigue. I feel well now and waiting on tram flap reconstruction hopefully sometime this year. Good Luck to you for your treatment.

Re: New to forum

Hello everyone,

Had my 2nd FEC today, it hasnt been long but Im feeling a bit sickly already, Im sure it didnt come on this quick last time!
Im glad you got your 2nd one Anne, you dont want this treatment to last any longer than it has too! Have you heard of Mel life Honey, its suppost to help your blood count. Its quite expensive for a tiny jar and its hard to get at chemists but if you google it you can see what its suppost to do and where its stocked. You might have to ask your doc before you take it though.
Hi Krissy, I could do with a glass of wine now didnt like my cocktail earlier ha ha. I have to wait till at least saturday though! Had some last time after about 3 days and it didnt go down too well, but like you say not a bad thing.
Hope all went well for you Rozita and your not feeling too rough.

Take care everyone

Jan xxx

Re: New to forum

Hiya all

Anne - so pleased you managed to get your cocktail. As much as you know what lies ahead, its another one out of the way. I hope your head doesn't get too fuzzy and you don't feel too sick. Take Care

Jan - Hope your second session went okay. Good luck and take care.

I actually had a glass of wine (first in two weeks). Mind it felt like I had had a bottle. I'm getting out of the habit now. Maybe not a bad thing 🙂

Lots of love

Krissy xx

Re: New to forum

Re: New to forum

hi anne, hope ur able to go ahead with ur treatment tomorrow,i had scan appt for 23rd feb today ,but was a little confused as chemo appt 17th feb , so spoke to oncoligists secretary she said would speak to dr tomorrow to see if appt for scan is ok!! im not sure if you can have chemo be4 scans, but i dont want my chemo appt moved to a later date as ive had second surgery over 4weeks ago ,and its over 8 weeks in total since first surgery was done, and im worried that all this waiting around could be harming me. anyway enough of me going on i just hope it works out for you 2morrow .goodluck chris. xxx

Re: New to forum

Maisie,

Sorry about your delay, must be really frustrating when you get yourself all physeked up (excuse spelling). I also had mx on 21 Dec and some node sampling. Some 3 came back with very small specs (their words, they decided not to do full clearance as they believe chemo and rads will sort it (hope they are right). Off to get bloods done this morning ready for second cocktail tomorrow. Am hoping they will not use the same vein as they will use for chemo as don't want to be sore and make it any more difficult than necessary to get drugs in.

Getting wig recut by someone who has been trained by Trevor Sorbie this afternoon as feel it is just too much hair and looks a bit too 'big'. Hoping that goes ok cos if they cut too much off they can't put it back!!

Why oh why is there so much to worry about, or am I being over dramatic. Anyway looking ahead to weekend when all done for another 3 weeks and hopefully can get away for a couple of days the next week to the Lakes.

Take care everyone and good luck to anyone starting this journey x

Anne

Re: New to forum

hi anne thanks for thinking of me ,unfortunatly been put back till next wed 17th as im waiting to have scans done !! i think maybe they forgot to arrange scans, but will never know. quite frustrated with it all, not the first time they have messed up. i had 1st surgery on 21st dec mx lpus snb, 2 pos nodes so further surgery on 11th jan for clearance which were all clear. but seem to be waiting for ever to start treatment !!so fingers crossed for 17th. but will take your advice on the drinking . thanks will let you know how i go on . love chris. xxx

Re: New to forum

Hi all. new to this also
Had first lumpectamy and 4 lympth nodes removed on 22nd dec which came back positive. Had second op and all nodes removed from right side on 20th Jan which have came back clear but had MRI which showed up another lump so waiting on results from this now. Have been told I have stageIII and will be starting chemo this Friday E-CMF then radiotherapy after. Very unsure of how I am going to feel and cope but keeping positive. I think it will be good to hear from others going through the same treatments. x

Re: New to forum

Hello Jan,

Welcome to the forum. Yes, it really is helpful to find people who are having treatment at the same time as you are. You do hear lots of different things and I think that is probably because people seem to react differently and you get to hear the experience that the person talking to you had.

I'm now finished active treatment (on tamoxifen) but you may find that in the Chemotherapy part of the forum there is a thread of people who are having chemo now. Or you and Anne could start one.

Hope the side effects stay as they are.

Eliza xx

Re: New to forum

Hi Jan,

Welcome to this Site. I am sure lots of ladies will be in touch to offer you support and advice. I too had a masectomy, grade 3 tumour and lymph node sampling on 21st Dec and started chemo FEC-T on 21st Jan. I agree with you, se's not too bad was only sick on first night and nauseaous for a couple of days. I have been waiting for something to come and bite me on the bum. Will have everything crossed for next session on the 11th am gonna do exactly what I did last time and hope it goes as well.

I have found this site so helpful and supportive but find I need to not get too far ahead and take each treatment one step at a time.

Good luck to you and keep posting.

New to forum

Hi all,
Im new to this so not sure what im doing, but here goes.

I was diagnosed on 7th Dec and had mastectomy 18th Dec, Im not sure of all the jargon but they said i had stage 2 cancer, I had 2 tumours one was gradeII the other gradeIII. I started my chemo on the 21st of jan the side effects so far are not too bad, Im hoping they will stay like that but not sure if they will, Iv heard loads of different things how they get worse after each one or that if Im ok now I will be right through so dont know what to expect. Im being very positive about this but I do seem to be waiting for all these side effects to happen.
Iv read through some post and you all give some good advice, its good to hear from ladies going through the same thing. Iv heard loads of times " such and such has been through it and they are fine" or " its amazing what they can do now you'll be okay" but I dont know anyone going through it so its good to hear from people who actually are.
