Re: Nightsweats

Hi aliceblue

Sorry to hear you are suffering with the side effects of your treatment. You might find the fact sheet 'Menopausal Symptoms and Breast Cancer' helpful. The link is below.

If you would like to discuss this our free phone helpline is open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 9-2 on Saturdays on 0808 800 6000.

Best wishes

Re: Nightsweats

Oh poor you. Keep a window open at night; cotton nighties; cold flannel, Chillow pillows are good - avoid alcohol. Can't think of much else. It does get a bit better, but I agree the side effects are really draining.

Nightsweats

Hi couldn't see anything on this. Had first FEC on 26 May, after 7 nights in hospital with neutropenic sepsis, I now have had my second night of nightsweats. Having changed twice in night (bed and me!)not sure if washing machine will be able to keep up if this is now forever. Oncologist thinks it is because ovaries have switched off. I'm 44 can't belive they get switched off so quickly. Not sure what to do, does anyone have any advice? Lots of menopausal information concentrates on balancing hormones, not sure that is a good thing with BC. I know this sounds mad, but having mastectomy wasn't half as bad as all the side effects that seem to have happened really quickly - hair falling out fast, sniffing because of no nose hair, sore mouth, no appetite. Unless it is all cumulative. Rant over feeling sorry for myself, but any help on what you can and can't do to help with menopausal symptoms would be great.
