Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls,

Happy New Year to you all.

Saturday 4th feb at lunchtime suits me as I work until 4pm on fridays,

Just a wee update on my wee heart problem,I have seen a heart specialist and on fri 20th I'm having an Mri of my heart ,I saw my oncog on the 9th Jan and told him I was having very bad headaches and blurred vision,he referred me for a Cat scan ,I had this on the 11th Jan 12 two days later, just waiting on the results, my blood pressure is very high so Im hoping that's whats causing the headaches, next month I'm having a 24hr monitor to record my blood pressure.
Thats all my news for now ,I'll keep an eye on the site for updates.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls

How is everyone? I hope you're all doing ok and enjoyed the Christmas break.
I'm just so glad to get back to some sort of normality!!
I thought maybe we could start thinking about our next meet up. It takes us a while to get organised so just putting out a few feelers to see how everyone is fixed myabe some Friday/Saturday in the next month or so.

I'll watch the site for feedback

Meanwhile take care

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Ladies

I too enjoyed yesterday, welcoming our new member Jennifer to the group and having a couple of bevvies in the pub after.

I apologise for the choice of venue; next time we'll go somewhere that can afford coffee cups and teapot lids!!! Therefore I abstain from making choices in the future! 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to catching up with you all in the New Year.

Carolyn xx

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Ladies

I have booked Chiquitos, Victoria Square, Belfast for 12:30 on Saturday 3rd December.

See you all there.

Carolyn xx

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

That's good for me - thanks Carolyn.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Jennifer,

Great you can join us. Looking forward to meeting you.

Everyone else,

If no-one has any other suggestions/objections, shall I go ahead and book Chiquitos for 12:30?

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

12.30 is OK for me and I'm willing to try Chiquitos.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Isy

12:30 good for me but shouldn't we decide on a venue.

Carolyn x

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi everybody!

Really looking forward to catching up with everybody next Saturday. What time suits you all? Can I suggest 12.30 - does that work for everybody?

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Jennifer

I'm not a great fan of spicy food either. What I've had in the past wasn't spicy at all. Have a wee look at their menu, it's got plenty of choice. Hope can make it.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

I will get back to you on that in a day or two, Carolyn. Do you know if that restaurant serves any food that is not too spicy? I can't eat too strong chilli sauces, etc.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Jennifer

Nice to see you posting again. I've been to Chiquito once for lunch and once in the evening. Admittedly we had to wait for a table but no more than 10 minutes and the service seemed slow to start with but overall I really enjoyed it. The service we had was great.

Unfortunately the suggestions aren't flowing at the moment so I pulled Chiquito out of the hat.

Anyways, will you be up for joining us on the 3rd? It would be lovely to meet you wherever we end up dining. 🙂

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

A word of warning - I have just checked the reviews of this restaurant on TripAdvisor and they are the worst I have ever seen!

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Ladies

We've gone a bit quiet on the site again. Is everyone still alright for the 3rd. Anymore suggestions for venue? Would you all be happy with Chiquito?

Please let me know.

Carolyn xx

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Chiquito is one I'd like to try - what do you all think?

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Ladies

Looks like Belfast is becoming the favourite. Suggestions look good Carol but I'd like to add one we've not been to before but I have enjoyed each time I've been - Chiquito in Victoria Square.

Anyway that's my suggestion for now.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls,

Looking forward to the 3rd Dec in Belfast, Carol I think we have possibly ate in all those places and haven't had a bad meal yet so I'm happy to go with the flow (are these the ones you get the discount off in which is even better :).

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls

Belfast on 3rd Dec sounds good to me.
We would probably need to book a table so any suggestions where?

City centre would be good, maybe Cafe Vaudeville, The Apartment, Northern Whig or Robinsons Bar?

I'm open to suggestions

Carol x

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Ok then Belfast! 🙂

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

We're thinking of coming up to Belfast on 3 Dec to do the Christmas market so lunch in Belfast would be perfect for me if it suits everybody else.
Isy x

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

The 3rd it is then.

I really need to know if you prefer Belfast or Carrick - PLEASE VOTE. I hate making the final decision 😞

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls

The 3rd suits me as well.
i don't mind where we go but if Carrick is out of the way for some girls then I can do Belfast or am open to suggestions.

Carolx

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

The 3rd suits me too 🙂 x

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls

The 3rd is looking much more popular, so we shall go with that.

Shall we keep with Carrick?

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Carol

I'll be going down to Whitehead after our lunch for a little walk and a bit of reminiscing around my teenage stomping ground. The fair is on from 1pm to 8pm.

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Lilac

Might be able to take a run down to that. what time does it start/finish?

Carol x

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Sorry won't be able to make it on the 26th - I'm doing a bookstall at the Victorian Christmas Market in Whitehead. Not far from Carrick so worth a look before or after lunch if you've time. The whole village is taken over by stalls for the day and the locals dress up in Victorian costume - great atmosphere!

Re: Northern Ireland Meet-ups

Hi Girls

Carolyn I have been to the Windrose lately and the food is fine but the service can be a bit hit or miss.
I've also been to the Point and papa Browns. Between the three I would suggest either the Point or Papa brown's but will go with the flow.

26th suits me so I'll keep an eye on the site.
