Do whatever you feel 'right' about ...some people like to feel more focused and in control by being alone. In which case, IF you have any reason to need treatment, it's a good idea to write anything down in brief whilst you are there, as the mind has a habit of going into a 'not really listening' state. I know I did, maybe it's just me ? Lol I do wish you all the best, and hope that your gut feeling is right . X
No, I'm sure they won't ask a few questions and then get you to come back! The idea is that they move on it quite quickly to reduce stress for the patient, and make a diagnosis as soon as they can. As I say many places now do (mine did) the one stop clinic, where you have the full lot from examination to biopsy in one appointment.....if necessary. Aye, we all Google and we all advise others not to, but it doesn't stop anyone as it seems a natural response to look for answers when you have none. You are right though, it won't tell you anything, as until you have been seen by the experts it could be any number of things, many of them benign. X
Hiyer,
I agree with Ann's post below. The usual start is with you explaining your symptom/noticed changes, and the doctor performing a manual breast examination of both breasts, they will look at you sitting up, and maybe with your arms above your head, and lying down. If they find anything that needs further investigation then a mammogram and maybe ultrasound. If there is still further investigation needed then a biopsy. Derrrrr.....why have I basically just repeated everything Ann said. I have no idea ? ;0) The only thing I would add is that sometimes, in some areas, they don't do the 'one stop get as much done today as possible' clinic method and you have to return for the biopsy if one were to be necessary, then wait a bit longer for resultw. Hopefully you won't need to be going down this route though for a biopsy, but if you do then you will find lots of information and support on this site. X
