Pain in My Arm

I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive breast cancer in December 2012, had surgery and Radiotherapy which finished in April last year.  Now a year on I have started getting alot of pain in my arm/shoulder on the side of the breast surgery and lymph node removal.

Just wanted to see if this is normal with other ladies and if I should be worried about this.

Thanks

First of all you are worried - that’s why you posted. So ring your clinic pronto. In all likelihood, it’s nothing sinister, but you need the reassurance.

I started getting ‘funny pain’ in one arm 3 years after surgery, a sort of prickling and tightness. Clinic made appt quickly and said it’s very slight lymphoedema and showed me how to do the daily massage. Job sorted!! So it is always worth ‘bothering’ them, cos it helps to avoid more serious problems later.

Hope you get your mind put at rest soon.
