Thank you for your reply. I'm really Hoping it's not so heavy next time, or as long!!! 2 weeks start to finish including spotting. Fortunately it wasn't painful, just really inconvenient and also expensive! Fingers crossed they return to normal soon.
Hi Xena, my periods also stopped for several months whilst having chemo & then returned about 6 months later, even though bloods showed I’d gone through the menopause. The first one, like yours was extremely heavy & painful. They did get better as the months went on, just the first day would be heavy, & they were regular which they weren’t before xx
Yep, no hot flushes, hooray! All side effects are now gone really. Do be prepared though if yours do return. I had read on here they return heavy, (but can not remember where I found that), and OMG, I’ve never had one like it! I did have to do an emergency trip to the supermarket for everything in the biggest absorbency going and literally double up, hourly, for two days. Awful. Hence why I’m now trying to find out what to expect with forthcoming ones!
Hi xena, I had my last chemo 14th December. My periods stopped after the first session and no sign of their return yet. Now your period is back have the hot flushes stopped? Cath x
Hi. My periods stopped as soon as I'd had my first cycle of chemo. I hgad my last cycle the 1st December. Over new year I felt I may be ovulating, various signs, thus continued through January.
Come the start of February I began spotting for a week and then my period returned. Very very heavily!
Has anyone had this to start and how did your periods continue,did they going back to normal?
