The hospital I was at did provide a bag but I just used a tote bag, the handles were long enough to hang on the arm of the chair which saved bending when getting up for a wee!
Do you still have pink pockets,my wife is due to have bilateral mastectomy in 2 wks, have been looking for something like this, would be very well appreciated, trying to get anything we may need sorted, any tips or advice would be great.
I only had two drains for 3 days , then down to one drain for a further 4 days, all were out after a week with the strattice recon. Our hospital gave us little pink carrier bags though, quite handy as if I had that in my hand it reminded me not to use that arm for anything else! Xx
My hospital provided little draw string bags for the drains . They were made by the local breast cancer support group . You took them home then returned them when the drain was removed .
I was also given a fabulous heart shaped pillow that has been invaluable for cushioning my scars in bed . Again it was made by the local support group volunteers .
Hugs,
Jill xx
What does the hospital expect you to do????Only for a short while, but you need to be comfortable.maybe when you have completed your treatment you could get a little sowing circle going....mine was beige with the hospitals name, not something you want to steal...and I presume someone washed them, opposed to ending up in the laundry.😊
Our hospital supplied them after my mastectomy and other surgery...and you only have the drains in for a short while. After my DIEP we had pillow cases, they were awful. But did not go home with drains then.
