I had copied the link that I posted above from post #14 on this thread by Anna BCC. It leads to a list of Latest Posts which requires much less scrolling down than the one available from the button above the coloured sections. It may be of help to someone.
To carolihne and others like myself who do not want to waste time and energy scrolling through endless posts from each thread - try this link: http://forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/thread
I had thought this was what the link they had posted above the coloured boxes, but sadly it's not. 😞
Edit: doesn't work- must have been blocked for some reason. 😩
Hi Carolihne and everyone
The difficult issue we have is to try and accommodate what everyone finds the easiest to work with, and as I am sure you can imagine that is not the same for everyone. We have tried to find what we hope is a suitable solution for the majority.
The latest post list, is exactly that, a list of every post in date order of being posted. Unfortunately that does mean that for some of the very active threads there will be more posts to view. We did trial the latest thread posts, which meant that only the thread, regardless of the amount of posts, was seen but many people did not want that either. We have provided this latest post facility in a drop down box, which allows each user to choose whether or not they wish to use this function, as many did not want it. When clicking on the drop down link, at the bottom, you can expand the list to see all of the posts going back as far as you wish to look.
I do hope this explanation helps you and that you find this much asked for function helpful. Your feedback is important to us and we do read and take note of all comments and suggestions.
Best wishes

I havnt been on here for quite a while but see that the latest posts still shows every entry from a particular post - you have to plough through hundreds sometimes if one topic is very active. this problem has been ongoing since the old forum was updated. promises to fix it have come to nothing. WHEN WILL THE PROBLEM BE SORTED?
very frustrated
Caroline
Just noticed to my delight that you have now put a Latest Posts button on the page with all the coloured forum boxes. I hope others will see this and find it useful. Well done BCC! 😍
Dear All
We are listening to you and hearing your requests for latest posts on the home page. As HelenL_BCC mentioned here last month, we do hope to review this:
"We added a link to Latest Posts in the Featured threads section of the homepage as a trial. This was a quick way for us to include the link for people who wished to see, at a glance, what the most recent posts are. We certainly take your point about it being trickier to access on mobile though!
The user research we conducted prior to the forum re-launch strongly indicated that some people found having Latest Posts very visible and prominent on the homepage of the forum distressing. We take that research seriously, so we won’t be making any changes without first going back to our users to seek their opinions.
We are a small team with finite resources, so we’re not always able to do things as quickly as we’d like, but we hope to be able to do this soon.
Thank you for your patience in the meantime,"
Best wishes

LOL, That makes a change Jenifer , my spelling is normaly terrible, haha , lovely to see you on the forums again, hope your keeping well . x
Hi Penny47,
The point is to me you shouldnt have to bookmark Latest Posts , Latest Posts are different to "Favorite Threads" and should be easily accessable for those that want them, like they have always been on the bcc forums over the yrs , The origional Latest posts didnt list every single recent comment on the page of every catagory ,only the latest comment in catagories, and its a tottal nightmare trying to access Latest posts on a Mobile as you have to open a min of 5 pages just to get to the link. Latest Posts were, and always have been the "Most" used of all other catagories on the forums and many many people do miss them and cannot understand why its been made so difficult to find them as they have now really been hidden away, many former members are not so active on the forums anymore and i suspect the loss of Latest Posts as they were is the reason, people cannot be bothered with scrolling through pages and pages of repeated thread posts.
Thats my view anyway.
L x
P.S is it just me or is anyone else having difficulties using spell check, ie not working?
I bookmarked this:
http://forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/forums/recentpostspage/post-type/message
..so I can go straight to it. It's on my toolbar in firefox. What am I missing from the old Latest Posts?
I agree Caroline, also was wondering why are the chit chat/games now featured on the Latest Posts section too when before they wasnt, showing all "latest replies" to threads in latest posts takes up a lot of space and is very time consuming scrolling through pages of comments from the same thread . Please bring back the Latest Posts origional format ,and please please BCC put a button for Latest Posts on the front page alongside all the other catagory buttons, I dont very often visit the forums anymore because its too jumbled up and time comsuming ,ive too noticed that the forums seem far less busy now.
L
Hi Carolihne
Thanks for your post, I will pass your comments onto the appropriate team.
Best wishes

why do we see all the comments on the latest post thread - we used to just see the most recent one - go to that topic an then see the whole dialogue. it isn't as good as it used to be and goodness knows what it has cost BCC to update their site ; (
Caroline
I agree with you 100% cornishgirl. If so many people have objections to having easier access to latest posts why haven't there been any on here to say so?
Anyway, all we were asking for was a button on the front page so that those who want to read latest posts without jumping through a series of irritating hoops could go straight there, and those who don't want to read what might distress them could feel free to ignore.
Hi Helen ,Thank you for coming back to us about Latest Posts, , I was never asked about my views on Latest Posts, and the question wasn't asked about Latest Posts at all on the 2 surveys I completed prior to the new forum launch, I suspect the user research conducted would likely have been very small compared to the number of members who actually use the forums ,so would not really have been a fair representation of actual views of all the users.
It would be good if BCC would allow all members to have their say by doing a poll on the forums for all the members to be able to state their feelings on this. I realize that resources are tight, but Latest Posts are, and always were,a very popular feature of the BCC forums ,and something that many many users miss.
Including Latest posts in the Featured threads is fine as a work around ,but can be very easily missed by new members, and old members, who haven't been on the site for a while , the Latest Posts section is now quite hidden away and not very prominent at all, I take your point about some members finding some of the posts on the forums distressing, and I do understand that, but unfortunately the nature of cancer forums makes it impossible to be able to avoid some of the more distressing issues wherever people are posting and whatever section they are posting in, I hope you will consider asking All members their views before making a final decision on this.
Thanks again , L
P.S. Yes, Finding Latest Posts on the Mobile is extremely frustrating and Very Time Consuming !
Hi Jenifer and cornishgirl, apologies that we’ve not been back to update you on this.
We added a link to Latest Posts in the Featured threads section of the homepage as a trial. This was a quick way for us to include the link for people who wished to see, at a glance, what the most recent posts are. We certainly take your point about it being trickier to access on mobile though!

Yes It would be good to have an update on this , Even with the new forum I still only ever use the Latest Posts , I don't use the other sections at all, and if I'm using my mobile, its a real pain getting to Latest Posts as I have to open 5 pages to get to them!!! Can we please have them back on the front page? It would be a lot less faffing about...... Pleaseeeee.
L x
Any update on this? Why can't there be a link to latest posts on the front page of the forum? it's been several months now since you promised to look into this, BCC.
Appreciate your reply, Helen and also agree with your response, cornishgirl.
Thanks Helen for the update, I think the feedback poll is an excellent idea to be able to get the overall view of the new forums , am slightly disappointed that its still going to take another few mths before any decisions are finally made on reintroducing the Latest Posts properly or not, but look forward hopefully to getting them back on site again in the very near future (If that is what most members would like )
Thanks for keeping us updated on this.
Hello,
Thanks for following up Jenifer and cornishgirl.
We're planning a review of the forum in a few months' time, once the dust has settled after the move. Until then, we won't be making any significant changes to the site's structure or layout.
We're listening to all the feedback we've received here, particularly the requests to bring back Latest Posts, and we've added a link to the Featured threads section of the forum homepage, to test how that performs (https://forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/Forum-site-feedback/Latest-Posts/m-p/773534)
We plan to run a poll or survey on the forum again when we get to the review stage, to ensure that we reflect the wishes of as many of you as possible.
Lulu34 - I agree about editing posts so we've changed that to have no time limit. You should now be able to go back and make your changes!
I hope that helps – we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
Helen
Yes BCC please tell us: are you trying to do something about this or have you decided it is not possible?
Also you promised to see if you could move the Older Women's thread to the Talking to People Like Me section where the Younger Women's stuff is so that people have a better chance of finding it. Any progress on that?
Hi BCC , was wondering if there was any further news on making the Latest Posts much more obvious for people? Know I'm a pain lol but Please .........
Hi again Lulu
I'll pass this on to the technical team.

Hi Lulu
I believe you should be able to edit your posts, if you click on the options arrow there's a drop down box appears which says edit reply this brings you into the post you are reading, you should be able to edit it from there. If you still have problems please let us know.
Kind regards,

I agree! It's great to have Latest Posts back as it's the best way of keeping up and seeing what's going on. I know that logically it makes sense to put it in the section at bottom of page(can´t remember what it's called) BUT it is not obvious enough to most of us and is too hard to find, can it not be put somewhere more visible .
I have been using the site less since all the changes but am trying to use it more regularly as it was such a help to me and I want other women to continue to benefit in the way I did. Keep listening BBC.
Great to see you back ruth, Facebook is great but not the same as BCC, It's a shame that so many members have left and have moved on from BCC , the community spirit was always fantastic on BCC ,but I suppose that's what happens with cancer forum's whether it be because people don't like changes or just that it's time to move forward's, Lovely to see you back on here ruth. Still wish the Latest Post's were a bit more visible !
Linda xx
I have just come back onhere for the first time in a couple of months as I couldn't find my way anywhere at all with this new forum. Today I actually did, after hunting around for about 5 minutes, chance upon the link to latest posts, so in a sense that worked. However, it wasn't easy to find. Ever since the old forum went away I have struggled - and I'm generally pretty good with finding my way about the internet. I also mainly go on facebook now, but its NOT the same of course , and it was BCC that kept me going for several years after my second dx in 2008. However, I am now getting a sense that there is a will to sort this out, so I'm going to try to come on a bit more often.
But why can't it be on the front page rather than hidden at the bottom where I for one would never
have thought of scrolling down to?
Anyway I have been using RevKat's link as it produces better results.
Dear All
The latest posts link is in the featured threads at the bottom of the front page of the forum.
Anna
Hi Sam,
Thanks - but as Linda points out, this link is pretty well hidden. Latest posts was invaluable for a quick update on what was going on and very importantly made sure that "newbies" were less likely to be overlooked or have their posts missed. We all know that new users are ofen posting in a time of great distress and uncertainty and are in need of prompt support. I would hate to think that anyone would be missing out on this support.
At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, please bring it back.
Thank you
Thanks Sam, Yes I know you can find Latest Posts by going in a roundabout way through Forum Feedback, I was just wondering why they was taken off the Featured Threads ,because if Latest Posts are not visible like all the other different Categories are ,unless you know how and where to find the Latest Posts ,some members , especially new members who would also like this option wouldn't even know they were there.
Linda
Hi all
Here is the link to the page where you can find the link to latest posts:-

Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator
Nope!! I can't see it either. Please can the "latest posts" link be placed somewhere obvious?
Thanks
Was just trying to find the Latest Posts Link in "Featured Threads" but it doesn't seem to be listed there anymore, does anyone know if its been moved as I cannot find it anywhere on the page . Thanks x
Thanks June.
Hello Cressida
Thanks for your post, I will pass it to our management team for them to have a look at.
Best wishes

I am starting to bore myself Jo, but is there any reason why the link can't take people to the latest post that have been made, rather than to a list of the threads with a column that shows when they have been replied to?
I think it is fairly obvious that what people are asking for is the facility to see the most recent posts; they don't want to trawl through the threads.
Hi Lulu
If you scroll right down on the forums front page underneath the purple box 'talk to people like me' there's the 'featured threads' and the link to the recent posts is there at the top.
Hope this helps.

I think at the moment, revcats link to the Latest Posts seem to be the best one to use, if we could just get any duplicate threads on latest posts from not showing now I think we will have cracked it, though I still think Latest Posts is Not visible enough to forum members and probably unless you know it is there it can be easily missed. Am wondering also if most people are only useing revcats link, instead of bcc, will it still count as part of the Trial?
Thanks, Linda x
Aha! Just worked it out! The latest posts link you have posted doesn't show the latest posts. It shows the first post in each thread, then you have to look across to the last column see if it has been posted on lately. I know I have chemo brain, but I am not sure this is a very intuitive way to do it.
Any chance of changing it?
x
Just checked and my post below has not yet come up in the linked latest posts. There are actually more than 2 pages of posts accessible by RevCat's link that are not viewed via the forum link.
