Add my condolences, my sadness and most of all my memories of how wise and caring Laurie was. Seeing her name next to a thread always meant helpful advice given in a gentle way. She will be much missed by us; how much more then for her family. Rest in peace, Laurie.

I have not been on this site very much lately. Logged on this morning to see this. What sad, sad news . I always enjoyed reading Laurie's posts which were always knowledgeable and caring and positive. Like all of you, I feel for her husband and children. RIP Laurie. xx

I felt very sad and tearful on hearing about Laurie's death.
Although I never met her I read her posts as they were always encouraging and supportive,she came across as such a generous spirit and a lady with a great sense of humour,someone who would be great to know and have a laugh with.I read on another site where she was posting that she so wanted to make it till summer - her son's b'day.I really hoped she would.

I am devastated to hear this. Laurie was such a positive happy person. I will remember the joy she had in her convertable "Beetle" when we all met at Potmaids for lunch. Many a night during chemotherapy was spent in her company.

I met Laurie a few weeks ago and although she was using a wheelchair and obviously tired, she was still so full of life. I can't believe she went downhill this quickly. She was so ready to support others and will be missed.

I am so sorry to read this. As everyone has said, Laurie/Alesta was always so positive, upbeat and full of joie de vivre. If I remember rightly, she was one of the ladies who featured in the BCC secondary awareness videos, complete with room-lighting smile and amazing sense of fun.

I was lucky to meet Laurie in one of the Claredrops meet up. She was a fantastic and very supportive lady. Another one gone too soon. So sad, two young kids motherless.
A humanist celebration will take place next week.

I have just been on another site and found that Laurie died this morning. I just want to send her husband, children, family and friends my sincere condolences.
