Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi ladies. Following all your stories. It's a rocky road but all for a good reason. I'm further down the line, post surgery and rads but still pleased this place exists for those down days.

I'm a lady of leisure so haven't had to make a return to work decision. But seriously I still don't feel I'd be ready for full time yet so take your time ladies.

Pleased you've got a friend to meet today Judi you've had a rough few days xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hey Ladies....
Lynn,Thankyou for your advice😊....I wouldn't class my job as too stressful, but can be very tiring and they have enough staff,so they are okay with me having as long as need...which is good of the boss,it's just money really, but my health is more important😊X
Sarah...I'm sorry you have been in pain...but nice to have a relief from it,take it easy lovelyX

Re: Recently diagnosed

Lynnn and Rachel - I'm waiting for my post surgery results before planning anything but am v worried about return to work already - like Lynn a stressful job that I can't really do half mast .....however, there are plenty that do work through chemo sometimes scheduling sessions before weekends etc I'm mindful that I will need to have a phases return eventually but am dreading how tired I might be - I've been shattered post surgery (I have so much energy normally) and worry that hormone treatment will completely sap me. but - days at a time ladies!
S xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Oh Judi - that's so horrible - the MRI machine broke when I went for my MRI (I was lying all ready to go in) but luckily they had another that was working! Hopefully all will be ok on Friday.

Glad that others getting 'good' results -if good is the right word in the scheme of all of this!!

I've made it 5 hours without painkillers today followed by only one paracetamol so am having a mini me celebration.
Lots gentle hugging
Sarah

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Rachel, well I am just getting over the surgery and have no idea what my plan is. I am hoping just radiotherapy with no chemo and the plan would then be that I would stay off work until after then. Emotionally I don't feel strong enough for work at the moment and my job is so stressful I just wouldn't be able to give it my all. I think your Consultant is wise to say wait until you start your treatment, you don't want to put pressure on yourself in case you don't feel well enough to go back xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Oh no Judi big hugs to you, how awful that you have to go through that all again. Hospital trips are so tiring at the best of times. xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Oh Judi😕....I'm sorry lovely, what a blooming pain in the ..., can't believe you've now got to go back Friday.Love Rachel X

Re: Recently diagnosed

I wonder if any of you ladies are back to work or what opinion you have about returning to work? Its driving me crazy being off work, but as I'm starting Chemo soon have been told by my Consultant to wait until I see how I deal with the treatment first Rachel X

Re: Recently diagnosed

😊that's great news Cheryl!Very happy for you and once you get the treatment plan sorted then you are on your way to getting to the finish line!Im inpatient too,so am hoping my Oncilogist can give me a date to start soon X
I think I've heard of that oncotype....is it a place online patients can go to take a test to see what their survival rates are against the treatment they have?A book I finished reading mentioned a couple of these places,I did have a little look.I think they are no good for me though,as I'm triple neg,but if your are pos Cheryl that site would be useful for you?Xxx
Rachel

Re: Recently diagnosed

So pleased for you Cheryl, great news that nodes and margins all clear and I hope they manage to sort out the next stage of your treatment quickl y:)

Can't help with your question I'm afraid but I'm sure someone will be along soon who will know.

Take good care of yourself

x

Sharon

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Ladies, I got my results today and there is no spread and all margins were clear, they can't finalise my treatment plan at the moment due to my stroke. They think chemo but need to work out the benefits of chemo against the risk for any further strokes. Deffo radiation and hormone but need to sort out my menopause as can't tske tamoxifen. So really good news and still questions to be answered but have got to learn to be patient, which I am not !! I hope all those pre op/awaiting resultsare hanging on in there, it's so hard but this forum is a major blessing and light in what seems like a bleak tunnel but you have been so far such an enormous help. X x x ps has anyone used the oncotype DX diagnostic ?"??? Cheryl x x

Re: Recently diagnosed

Morning Judi😊
I'm out for a nice walk too, cold but lovely and sunny😊,makes you feel better afterwards doesn't it?X
Bet you will be glad like me just to get things going....I'm just waiting now to see Oncologist to start my Chemo I'm Cheltenham....it sounds okay there and going to visit the centre next week as they have a place you get can get advice on wigs, diet etc,so that should help.Prob going to get my hair cut short before too😕....but don't want to just see it all falling out,so thought it would be best thing.
That sounds like a long time Judi...but good they are thorough and then once everything is okay you can get going with the treatment.
Take care ladies and good luck Tuesday Judi ...hugs Rachelxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Rachel, Pleased to hear you're ok after a long stressful day. Pleased you are so positive about the results. I'm just greatful that that there's so many amazing treatments now for this interruption in our lives. Enjoy that glass of wine you deserve it xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Denny, like RAcehl sorry to hear that the blighters were found but chemo zapping and our mental, zapping will give em something to think about. Good luck with the body scan. X x

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Rachel well you have earnt the glass of wine and hope you had a comfortable night and good sleep. Sounds like the plan is coming together, 😄 and if you don't need radiotherapy at the end that will be a bonus (interesting what we now see as bonuses!!) so fingers crossed... Have a nice weekend and try and relax a bit. Mine are in on Tuesday 😳

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hey Denny...sorry to hear they found little nodules...but good news that Chemo will zap those little blighters and they stand no chance!
I've actually not had a body scan, not sure why, does it depend on what type you have? When is your chemo starting?Hugs lovelyxxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Morning ladies..X
Sorry for delay in getting back to you,but very emotional and tired last night after late appointment,so thought I'd leave it until this morning 😊
Was a good result(as much as can be in our situation)...so lymph nodes clear and margins(after Masectomy)surgeon very happy and so as I'm Triple Neg,I'm having Chemo anyway, which I knew.So seeing my Oncologist in 2 weeks and should start a course soon after, which will prob be about 18 weeks of Chemo(3 weekly) and he thinks I may not need Rads after fingers crossed😊...so am pretty positive with that news.Think I'll have a glass of wine tonight and treat for tea😊.hugs Rachel xxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Rachel hope you are ok after such a long wait yesterday speak soon Love Judi xxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hey guys so I got my test results this morning and was told my bone scan was clear but the CT showed two small nodules in my lungs 😞 so my consultant gonna discuss me in the mdt tomorrow and probably change the type of chemo they planned to give me. They seem to be optimistic they can shrink it so fingers crossed xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

And understandably so, please make sure you don't feel pressured to hurry up when you go in, you are important 😄
