Re: Recently diagnosed

Beryl

So pleased to hear your news. Enjoy your celebrations. Not daft at all, can totally understand.

Xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Cheryl and others

Caught Norovirus so that was NYE scuppered.

We are having our New Years Eve tonight AND we have more to celebrate now than at the original one.

My Beast has not gone into Lymph nodes - no chemo

The 2 patches of it are grade 2 - mastectomy

but I am not complaining as could well mean no radiotherapy either, mastectomy will clear the Beast.

Then it seems I am suitable to have an immediate implant so firm boob here I come - haven't had that since before breast feedingSmiley Happy

Op in a couple of weeks

Feel really happy about it all, just think sometmes I may come down with a bump.

Other thing is that tiny new grandson(born 6 weeks early) has been allowed home

oh joy

I just wish you all the positive vibes i have at the moment I can pass on to you all

So bubbly in fridge, dress sorted out (well may not be able to wear one for a while post op)(not that I do anyway!!)

Seems daft feeling like this and still having the beast but I think you will understand

Beryl(Matty)

Re: Recently diagnosed

Oh my!! Judi xx I guess there's never a good time for a cancer diagnosis but over Christmas and NY just seems to make it worse. Just sending love and support, come here and rant if it makes you feel better xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Chez x
Sorry to hear you feeling down this week...it's hard I know, but just try doing things that make you happy, even just little things like a good film or a nice walk to the shops to treat yourself 😊
Usually wait is about 2weeks?But I had my Masectomy just over that, but hopefully they will be in this week,
Hugs to youxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Cheryl. Just think this time next week... The op will be well and truly behind you and on to the next stage. But honestly for me the waiting for the op was the worst. My results were ready in 2 weeks but as we had a preplanned holiday that week I waited an extra week and hopefully, as for me yours will just confirm your biopsy results. Just another step along to way back to normality.

NYE was ok. I was in bed straight after midnight, still feeling so tired. Might have a chat with the bcn next week for advice. Emotions/mood still all over the place but putting that down to Tamoxifen. Ticking off the days to my next appt with my onc (end of Jan).

Sending love hugs and good wishes. Deep breaths, keep that BP down xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Matty, Wemblo, balliboo how are you guys doing ? Hope you enjoyed the ny wine and food Cheryl x

Re: Recently diagnosed

Judi, hope you are doing ok, the waiting is a real drain as I am finding.big hugs Been very low this week and could not get hold of the bcn, but on the plus side pre op assessment went well but bp high so am having to have it monitored daily ...., Rachel, glad things are moving on although once you get the results that will be another step forward. What do they usually say will be the time from op to the results? Love Cheryl x

Re: Recently diagnosed

It's good to have a good moan isn't it Matty...that's what we are here for,we know what you are going through and for good and bad days😊X

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi ladies....💜
Judi I can't believe they've changed your date again,I would be fed up too😕...I only hope that mine comes through soon as it's constantly in my mind .
I'm treating myself to a hot choc in Costa at the mo,trying to keep myself occupied and walking lots,as I'm not back to work yet and cannot do any exercise I'm used to doing ....at this rate they will be wheeling me to Chemo!!😳X
My appointment yesterday went well with the BCN nurse, wound healing fine and no swelling,so that's good. She said my pathology report is no doubt held up due to Christmas/New Year etc .Xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Isn't one of reasons why we are here to moan to as well - to help put things into perspective

Tuesday will come soon I hope you get answers

matty

Re: Recently diagnosed

Aaargh, that is so unfair on you Judi, no wonder you're stressed! No words of wisdom to offer I'm afraid but I'm sure the others will, although I'm finding that singing along loudly to The Sound of Music that's on TV now is helping the stress no end (neighbours are probably saying the opposite!)

Roll on tomorrow, will be willing good news for you

x

Sharon

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi ladies thought i would have some news for you but alas not waited for an hour to be told results would be on Monday after a meeting with Multi disciplinary team so the only thing i had done was my dressing taken off feel deflated now Love Judi xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Balli Boo,yes waiting is the hardest part....had my Masectomy/SNB 11 days ago,I have an appointment on 19th,but just seems ages away.X
Sorry you had one node positive, but it's good they are so efficient and got it early, that is a blessing.
Has your chemo started yet?Xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi. Awaiting is the worst part.

Initial mammagram 6.10.2014.

recalled 20.10.2014.

then seen 29.10.2014 - told I had breast cancer. Booked me in for surgery. Told immediately date.

12.11.2014.

Went in for surgery.WLE and SNB

Then called back for results 28.11.2014. Unfortunately it was in sentinel node.

they only removed the one node.

Told chemo recommended.

Next appt. Was  10 or so days later.

Pre chemo 22.12.2014.

Booked in for this Friday.

I stll feel I am lucky ad it was picked up early via screening.

Everything seems to be done quickly

.

I will need to have my nodes removed after chemo, then radio for few weeks.

Hope all ok with you.

xx

Thinking of you today Judi xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Your not a droopy drawers!Whatever op your having is still a lot to go through no matter what....I am grade 3(well since my last biopsy),but was given the choice of Chemo to shrink it a bit, then lumpectomy ,or could have a Masectomy first...so that's what I chose.Im sorry about your stroke that's affected your right side, that must be hard to deal with that too ?xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Thanks x x its a lumpectomy, grade 3 but small, I feel like a droopy drawers when you all have had a mastectomy, it's just the stroke left me a little disabled on my right side and it's my right Breast that has the little blighter so am just feeling a little sorry for myself. Will be better once the treatment starts its just been the waiting around as they wanted to do it in the 12/12 but I was badly bruised and then they mucked up things s little, but they and my gp have been really nice

Re: Recently diagnosed

Thankyou Jets😊xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

positive vibes all round from me too ...xx

Re: Recently diagnosed

...positive vibes coming your way too😊xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

The day before my birthday!Ill be thinking of you😊...is it a lumpectomy or Masectomy ?you don't have to say if it's private, just wondering.
Was good of your boss to call round...hope they brought you flowers or choccies!Id be the same, especially if I didn't know they were coming!😊
My boss actually rang me today and asked how I was...which was nice,he said take as long as I need off,and I said I want to get back as soon as I can as need to get back to normal stuff again.
Thanks for the positive vibes..😊xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Ps sorrynto hear about the wait but sending lots of positive vibes

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Rachel
It's the 5th and no I haven't but i should and will do tomorrow, my boss came to visit me earlier and I got into spin because I hadn't tided up so did the very mature thing of crying!!!!! Have given myself a kick up the bum and then watched downton abbey and cried a bit more. Thank you x x

Re: Recently diagnosed

Have you rang your Breast nurse?
I rang mine this morning,as desperate to know results ,but may have to wait until 19th Jan,because of Christmas/New Year etc, hate waiting!X

Re: Recently diagnosed

Awww Cheryl...I know how you feel and it's hard not to worry, but it won't spread and it will be completely fine...X
When is your op?
That's what we are here for, good and bad daysxxxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi all, I am having a bad few days, the wait is driving me mad and am worrying the delay is causing it to spread, have had to stop medication as I had a stroke 3 years ago in prep for the op, so now worrying blood will clot and I have another one, all rational signs have evaporated and don't want to worry john (hubby) any more than I need to but being brave is hard. 😂😂Thanks for listening, it does help to say these things out loud (so to speak)😊

Re: Recently diagnosed

It will be fine Judi...have my fingers/toes crossed for you😊...let us know how it goes.
Rachel X

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi Balli Boo...nice to hear from you😊...I'm still waiting for my results from the Masectomy/SNB so will know hopefully when my Chemo starts. How long did you have to wait?X

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi ladies postman just been results tomorrow afternoon god im scared all over again Love Judi xxx

Re: Recently diagnosed

Hi. Apologies but I havent logged onto this site for a while.

Yes, all went ok apart from 30 mins delay.

Was just sat around waiting. Seemed like forever.

Pre chemo meeting was just with one nurse.

She went through all the side effects and to be honest I didnt really wish to hear them again, onc was very thorough.

She had a job to do.

I was there some time.At least a couple of hours.

I was originally told its 30 mins but you get an hour in case you have questions.

Saw the Paxman, cold cap units. Tried on cap.

Start first session

2.1. 2015.

Hope all is ok with you.

X
