Ribs

Ive been diagnosed with BC im waiting for the results. For a long time ive had sore ribs, all down my sides, including if I press my skin down to my pelvic bones. It feels so very bruised. Is this a sign tjat the cancer has spread?

hi giggles,
If you haven’t already, do let your team know about this as they will advise & arrange any scans if needed.

Hi giggles.
I’ll just add that most of us (apparently around 80%) diagnosed with bc convince ourselves that it has spread. The brain is a powerful organ. Once we discover that our bodies have been invaded with cancer we worry that every ache or pain is a possible spread. Try not to get yourself too stressed about this. Yes, let your team know but it probably isn’t cancer. And don’t google your symptoms or wander into the secondaries boards on here as I did. Just focus on what you know for a fact. We have enough to stress about at this stage. Xxx

Thanks
But ive had all my ribs, back, legs pain well before I found the lump in my breast. My liver blood tests were high " the report said " results are of a person who drinks excessive alcohol" swelling.
My Dr refuses to refer me to a liver specialist. I have since found a lump in my arm, my Dr said its imbeded deep and wants the cancer specialist to deal with it, she says she thinks its cancer. Im not going overboard or worried, ive had 2 yrs of complaining my body is not right, sent away telling me I have depression and I certainly havnt. To be believed ive had to find my breast lump. The pain has always been in my bones not muscle.
My voice has always gone 'horse like" and loss of voice after talking for 3 mins. Sharp pains in my left sode behind my ribs, I cant draw breath when that happens.
Roll on 31st May and I see the cancer consultant.
On Sunday I see a neurolagist as a brain MRI scan revealed a tumour, usually an 8 monthwait, its taken 2 weeks for me.
I just want to get treatment as time has gone on and ive suffered for the last 2 months.
Hope all is going well for you, im sure I will be sorted soon xx

Hi giggles. It really sounds as if you’re going through the mill right now. Thank goodness you’re now being taken seriously. Hopefully now your symptoms are being investigated you will receive whatever treatment you need very soon. It does sound as if you’re team are moving quickly. I hope you get the answers and solutions you’re looking asap. Sending you a big hug. Xxx

Thanks  x

One more thing, I’ve found calling the breast cancer helpline really helpful whether I’m having a meltdown or looking to clarify info I’ve been given from my team. If you find yourself panicking, they’re a brilliant source of wise words and information. X

Yes I phoned. Very nice and I was supported and listend too. I asked the same question as posted here and was told tell my Dr, so I didnt get an answer. They are not Drs bu it was nice to talk xx

Yes, you’re right they’re not doctors. And I’ve found even doctors can only give us their best guess until biopsy results come back. Wishing you fortitude while you wait for answers. I’ve already had my mastectomy and lymph removal and I’m off for a CT scan on Wednesday, so understand how hard dealing with the unknown can be. X

0 xx

0 xx hug if it doesnt work xx
