Hi shaz, thank you for remembering me , met with the surgeon today, he said that there were no cells visible in the sample but it is not 100% guarantee so they would like to remove all the milk ducts, I was a little shocked so he has given me time to think about it, he was so helpfully answering all my questions but I'm so undecided about what to do.
Hope you are well and having fun.
Thank you again xx
Hi shaz , that sounds lovely and you are right, having a scare brings home the importance of time with people you love. We must make the most of everything.
Unfortunately my sample results won't be in till next Thursday , the waiting is very hard.
But I'm thinking that the odds are in my favour so fingers crossed.
Thank you both, it's lovely to have the support. I hope by next week to be joining you on the holiday hunt, have put plans on hold for now , but fingers crossed I can use the internet for a new search .
Where are you both planning on going ? Xx

Hi ladies, my other half managed to change the subject every time I mentioned my appointment but I think he is just scared, but after my appointment he wanted to know all about it, I hope it has reassured him that the duct is coming out , I know it has made me feel better. Everyone at the clinic were great, very relaxed but answered all my questions, I did have a close friend with me to ask anything I forgot, and of course we had a nice lunch after for medicinal purposes . Now it's just fingers crossed time while waiting for results .
I hope all goes well at your appointments
Hugs to all xx
Hi everyone, well my appointment was this morning, I had a mammogram , ultrasound and a sample taken, now another two week wait for my results, they have said that the duct will have to be removed whatever the sample comes back as, but that is a nice simple day surgery, so all fairly positive so far.
How are you all feeling ?
Try not to worry too much - based on statistics most lumps seen at breast clinics turn out to be harmless. I'll keep fingers crossed for you.
I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish - it really does feel awful. I think the best way to get through the wait before the appointment is to keep yourself as busy as you can - work, housework, what have you, just to keep your mind occupied. I had my breast clinic appointment last Friday, thankfully was given all clear, but the two weeks I had to wait felt like the longest weeks in my life. Some days I would wake up and the first thoughts that came to my head were all doom and gloom. I spoke to a lady on the Helpline you can see on this site, had a really good chat with her about what to expect during the appointment and that helped me calm down a little. Also, I started listening to various guided meditations tracks I found on YouTube (I'm not posting a link not to upset the Forum rules) and they were extremely helpful in dealing with my anxiety. I never did any meditation before in my life, but I was driving myself crazy with worry, so was prepared to try anything to keep gloomy thoughts at bay. It really did help. Try searching for 'anxiety' or 'relaxation' meditation tracks on YouTube and loads of stuff will come up. Some are just lovely music to listen to, but the ones I found most helpful were the 'guided meditation' type, which means that you listen to the music and someone's voice telling you to imagine various images and bring in positive thoughs. It doesn't matter if you have never meditated before, all you need to do is sit comfortably, close your eyes, listen to the music and hopefully forget your worries for a little while at least. Good luck with your appointment, I really hope it's going to be good news for you.
Good morning ladies, I hope you a slept well.
Well done shaz for going out and letting your hair down , even without a diagnosis you start to look at life differently, makes you appreciate all the small stuff you take for granted.
Kitt I'm so pleased you are doing so well, how long did it take for you to get a diagnosis after your initial assessment, it seems to vary allot?
Hi Frances how are you this morning .
Hi shaz and hi kitt,
Shaz I know just how you feel , I go between being very happy dashing around getting on with things to moping around feeling fragile distracted and worried. I have to say that I am more worried about my family than I am about myself, but I think that is probably the same for most ladies. I keep hoping that my nipple will stop bleeding before Thursday , ever hopfull , but am also seeing changes to the shape of my breast now , note to self --- stop looking at them !!
Kitt how are you feeling, is the treatment going well for you, I am so grateful for the support, nothing like girl power is there .
Huge hugs to you both xx
Hi shazbadd, your not rambling, and you have nothing to apologise for, all of us waiting for appointments are feeling the same emotions , and it is good to share your concerns with others. I have found reading people's journeys on here both reassuring and comforting. I have my appointment on Thursday and am hopefully that everything will be ok , I'm just glad they see you quickly after referal.x

I am sure they will all tell you that the majority of breast issues are not breast cancer but it is always the best policy to get any changes to your breasts checked out as soon as you can.
