Re: Secondary breast cancer of the peritoneum

Hi, was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in August 16 after 16 years, mine has also spread to peritoneum and bone mets.

Started on Letrazole in August as well as Zoledronic none infusions, this didn't seem to work for very long. Have now been started on Extemesrane and Everolimus, 11 days in, currently have sore mouth with ulcers however it has definately reduced my bloated tummy. See oncologist again Wednesday so not sure how tumour marker is looking yet.

Re: Secondary breast cancer of the peritoneum

Hi Jacksy. Thanks for reply sorry late getting back to you not good on this system. Finding it difficult to keep under control. On Letrozole but having to have stomach drained every two weeks so need to put something else in place. They have suggested two endocrines together or chemo. Seeing consultant next week. They also think it's on ovaries now as well. Hope all is going ok with you. As you rightly said not many have this one! X

Re: Secondary breast cancer of the peritoneum

Hi Geranium,

Welcome. I see you found the other thread under living with secondary BC. There don't seem to be that many of us! I don't know how to answer your question. I think it's quite difficult to treat peritoneal mets except through a systemic treatment, I e something that goes round your bloodstream to your whole body such as chemo. I'm on Kadcyla and that's kept me steady for over a year. I also have 'bulky' ovaries so they're assuming that is secondary BC too. My liver mets are now all gone due to surgical resection a few years ago. How are you doing?

Jx
