Hi Bermadetteh I had the dreaded scan yesterday with the help of Diazepam 5mg! It was only 20 mins much better than the 50 mins first time! Hopefully get the results in a week and the pain is as suspected a side effect of reconstruction surgery!! Xx
I have had sedation for MRI and I take 10mgs Diazapam anytine I have one. It will make you drousy but 5mgs may not be enough. I'm also a Mental Health Nurse and lots of my patients use Diazapam. Good Luck with your MRI xx
Thank you Cassie B will ask them about the mirror the only scan I have had was for breast so was on my front! I did keep looking so was thinking about a mask!! X
I can't advise on diazepam but I know that of the three times I've had an MRI scan on my head the most comfortable was when they had the mirror not only switched on (they forgot one time) but pointed to actual live people - it was actually the staff supervising the scan. It felt like I was looking out of a window so I didn't have any feelings of being enclosed. I was also invited to bring along music of my own choice to listen to while in the machine which is supposed to help relax you.
Hi there, I am in need of advice please following a clear bone scan I now have been referred for a MRI scan, however I am incredibly claustrophobic and dont know if I can get in the scanner!! My GP has prescribed Diazepam 5mg and I have the option to take 10mg. I wonder if anyone has used Diazepam if so how much and when was it taken! Many thanks in advance Xx
