Hi Anne and Debbi
This is really interesting as I am due to have my 3 yearly smear this week. I have been on tamoxifen for 13 months now. At my last smear (before bc diagnosis) I had to go back and have it repeated twice as they couldn't get the result because I have cervical erosion and there was too much blood in the sample.
Oh well something else for me to look forward to!!
Will let you know if they manage to get it done.
hiya anne,I m on tam and zol and had a real prob with my smear last year it took 45 mins and she said my cervix was really high up and was difficult to locate and i had lots of little cuts inside, she said was probably due to the zoladex, but who knows, never had a prob before treatment anyway thats all I know.
I attended my GP's nurse's clinic for a smear test recently.
It was aborted due to bleeding (not period btw)
I have been on Tamoxifen since August last year and Zoladex injections at the same time.
I had my ovaries removed on Thursday, and whilst I was knocked out, they attempted another smear - bloody again.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have been told it is due to being on hormonals but wondered how others had got around it
