i just wanted to say that i had a 4cm cysts and it was drained today. i am so relived that it wasn't breast cancer. but that makes me aware of how much suffering many of you lovely ladies are going through.
i want to thank you so much for the support you gave me and i want to say that i will not be forgetting this forum and will pop in regularly.
i truly hope and pray that you all get the peace and health you deserve.
thank you for opening your hearts to me when i was so very stressed, you have restored my faith in humankind.

hi caro - if you ring the hosp ask for the breast cancer nurse specialist and have a quick chat with her - she might be able to look into it/chase appt for you - worth a try - they are worth their weight in gold.....thinking of you, mary x
ps denise thinking of you too on wed x
I have been to the doctors (last Wednesday) when he confirmed my fears of a lump which he said was about 4cm. He sent a fax to the hospital and told me to ring today if I had not heard anything from them. He returned me call to say that the hospital is extremely busy at the moment and I will get an appointment sometime before the end of February. He might as well have said the end of the year. I don't know how I am going to stand the wait.
My doctor found a 4cm lump in my left breast last week and like you I don't know how I had missed it before. He faxed the hospital the same day for an "urgent" appointment (last Wednesday) I was told they would ring me with the appointment but if I had not heard by Monday to ring him. Telephoned the doctors this morning who returned my call having spoken to the hospital. I was told that they were extremely busy at the moment and they can only say that I will get an appointment before the end of February!.
Each day seems like a year - I don't know how I will keep sane until the end of Feb.
Will be thinking of you on Wednesday.Remember most lumps are not bc.But if it is you will feel better when the waiting is over and you can get on with getting it sorted. It could be a cyst,a fibroid, fatty tissue-lots of things.Good Luck to you.
I hope all goes well on Wednesday, i will be thinking of you. I am waiting on my date to come through. I only seen the doctor on Friday but already it feel like a lifetime has passed.
back online again. still so very anxious.
thank you all for your kind thoughts. i go to the hospital on wednesday for the tripple assessment appointment. however i am that anxious today i am not sure how bad i will be on wednesday.
hope you all have a GREAT day!

thanks for the link lucy, but i am afraid it leads to a not found page. is there a typo or something in it?
thank you for your concerns. i had a really bad day yesterday and had to come home from work because i kept crying. however, i feel much better today and i am going in. i only work over lunch time at the local special needs school so i feel i can cope with that today.
i will keep you all informed.
thanks again and i pray you are all having a good day.
Hi Denise, there is not much I can say but wanted you to know I understand exactly how you feel. The waiting is awful. I hope that it is not bc. If it is you will feel much better when you get a treatment plan as most people on here have agreed on this. I found that the wait between going to the doctor and being diagnosed was the hardest part. As kittencat says do go and get something from the doctor. Hope it is good news keep us posted Love Eileen
hi denise - the waiting is so hard, but we know what you mean about the anxiety and fear - keep talking.....and maybe your gp would give you something to maybe help you sleep at night - nights are worse as you have too much time to think - I'll add you as a contact if you like...take care, mary x
Hi Denise and welcome to the BCC forums where I am sure you will receive lots of support and information from your fellow users.
In addition, BCC have published a booklet which you may find helpful to read prior to your clinic visit as it contains information about what you can expect to happen at your appointment, you can read it via this link:
Please do call the helpline if you feel it would help to talk your concerns through with someone in confidence, the line is open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm and Sat 9am-2pm on 0808 800 6000.
i feel so sad when i read about the pain and suffering everyone is going through.
last week i found a quite large lump in my left breast - how i missed it on previous occassions i do not know. the doctor said it was about 4cm which is bid. i have been fast tracked to the one stop breast clinic and have an appointment on wednesday 11th february. but i am so so anxious. i cannot stop thinking the worse and i keep crying. i am not normally a negative person but i cannot get to grips with this thing.
i am 46 years of age and have a wonderful husband, and two lovely children, one is 23 and he has two children of his own, and the other is 11 years. i really don't know what to do with myself. i can't eat, i can't sleep and i have quite severe anxiety.
