just got back from the clinic, verdict as predicted; 6 weeks of rads and hormones to follow. I'm chuffed that there were no surprises, and can't wait to get started. Seeing the oncologist (is that english?)on monday and starting very quickly after that, so i will definitely be an official member of this thread.
hugs, Gill
ps nipple still hurts like hell, but the doc says it's normal!
Hello everyone
Not lonely any more.....hugs and best wishes to everyone.

Finally, my results are back! I'm seeing the surgeon tomorrow so hoping he confirms treatment by rads and hormones and NOTHING ELSE! Silly i know but i dread the thought of chemotherapy, but if it happens i'll just have to cope. Before all of this if you had told me i would get cancer and lose half a breast i would have had a nervous breakdown! That is why i really try to avoid going down the "what if" route, but this evening it's a bit difficult. Oh well, 15 more hours to go, going to take some (legal)drugs now and will let you know what's going on tomorrow.
ps my nipple is really painful but doesn't look red. I can't stand anything touching it. It's probably just nerves regenerating themselves but i'm going to do a search to see if it's just me!
pps great to see that there are more than 2 of us starting rads in March. When i say great, you know what i mean!
Hi I have also been waiting for the rads forum to jump to March. I have had ct scan and my tattoes and have initial instruction 5th March and start treatment on the 6th (15 sessions). Just diagnosed with cellulitis but hopefully antibiotics have kicked in. Not looking forward to it because the stories seem to be so mixed, in fact quite fearful. I have very dry skin at the best of times. Still hopefully we can all support one another. Can't say how invaluable this site is.
Hi,
I am starting on the 29th Feb - so almost in March 😉 I joined the Jan group, then tried the Feb one, 3 times lucky I am going to stick with the march group 🙂
I had lumpectomy and node clearance in early Dec, but a bad infection at Xmas left me with a hole in my armpit and it only healed up this week. Had my planning session and tattoo on Monday, so I can finally start! The plan states 6 1/2 weeks for me - until 16th April. I am a little anxious - worried about my newly healed skin and the tiredness from my 3h roundtrip daily.
Is anyone attempting to work during RT? How long do you all have planned?
Rexi
I have my Rads planning 2nd March so I think maybe I'll start on Mon 5th. Fingers crossed anyway.
I hope to be starting rads in March but am still waiting for wounds to heal (after surgery in December!!). I am seeing the clinical oncologist on Friday so should have a better idea then.

Hi Mary, aren't you "lucky"! I'm still waiting to hear from the hospital, 2 weeks since my op. I can't wait to get started on the radiotherapy, just want to get it out of the way and get on with my life. Are you getting hormone treatment as well? If so, does that start at the same time, or after the radiotherapy? Hope you're feeling better, i'm still feeling very bruised and supposed to go back to work from tomorrow, good job it's the school hols so i get another week to get stronger. Hopefully by then i will have seen someone and know where i'm going next. I really am keeping my fingers crossed that i'll be able to join this thread (never thought i'd say that!).Speak to you soon, Gill
Hi Mary m had mx and recon in sept. finished 5 weeks of rads 30 dec. found it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Had a few probs with skin an was scared it would damage my recon but all was fine. Tiredness was the main problem but sayin that was able to go on 3 week holiday 1 week after treatment. Try an rest plenty durin treatment an listen 2 your own body. Hope all goes well 4 you it'll not be that bad. X debs
Dear anyone
Have just got my date for my planning session -1st March with actual sessions -5 weeks worth - to start a week/10 days after that.So would be really interested to talk to others who will be doing rads in March and into April.
I've had a lumpectomy and axillary clearance so am getting radiotherapy to the breast and sternum.
Looking forward to talking to others
