Hi again ladies
so glad to read that you are all coping with your first dunks. Believe me 'wind' is a major side effect, most of us OO's from last year were always talking about it lol!
My hair started to come out on Day 14 and i could just stand there and shake my head and the floor woul dbe covered. I have shortish hair anyway but come Day 16 i couldn't stand it any longer and had a 'shave' day with my hubby - he is bald so i shaved his and he did a cut 2 on mine. You may find your scalp feels tender as it begins to fall out but this goes once your hair has gone.
Try to take positives out of this - what i did was to put into a piggy bank all the money i didn't need to use on hair appointments, hair products and shampoo and condiditoner. i had a lovely nest egg come March/April as my hair began to grow again and now i have a 6 month regrowth have booked into a 'posh' stylist for my first hair do in over a year!
Good luck for monday Bettypoppit.
Junash I know what you mean about everyone saying how well you look, I have given up and told them I am fine, if only they knew.
Can't shift the taste of chemicals in my mouth even though brushing and rinsing nothing helps. Saying that after two days of toast and porridge could eat something with a bit of taste but can't think what.
We are like little ticking timebombs waiting for the next side effect to hit, lets hope they don't and we all have a good weekend x

Welcome to all the new ladies xx
Two days after chemo and my first post, couldn't stop vomiting the first day and a half but it seems to have settled down now. I know I need to eat but just the smell of food turns my stomach. Managed toast yesterday, have got up this morning and given myself a good talking to so been out for a walk to local shop (which is about two miles) and I ended up with some porridge so that will be my lunch.
Cold cap was hard work, not sure at the moment I will do it again, may change my mind by the next session but not sure.
I am hoping once the initial shock goes from the treatment we will be ready for the next one.
Big hugs to everyone x
Hello to new joiners and good luck to ladies starting treatment today.
I have been lying low a bit this week as my treatment starts on Monday and my anxiety levels have been escalating - although I have also found my hypnotherapist tips useful. Consultants still cant decide whether I have a bone metastasis or a benign bone tumour, so I have to live with it for now and get re-scanned in 12 months. Uncertainty doesn't help but in some respects its better than certainty I guess!
I will be having my chemo at St George's in London if anyone else is from the area.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and feel as well as possible.
