Stay strong and hang in there with your treatment ,I have 2 D&C to go and then 15-20 rounds of radiation-everyday not looking forward to that and I cant have any more days off work as no more sickies or annual leave left now and need money for bills, food and mortagage. So I will have to fight like a girl and kick myself along and think positive.Keep off the sugar I dont have it ,it was hard at first but then got easier,I know you can do it stay strong and fight like a girl Zena.xxx sharon

Can I join this thread please, as I will also be starting Paclitaxol in a couple of weeks for secondary BC.
My recent scan has showed progression, I have tried oral chemo and was very ill with them leading me to be hospitalised. Hormonal treatment didn't prevent the progression so hence this plan of action.
I originally had ER positive invasive ductal CA breast in 2002, treated with FEC and radiotherapy.
This developed into metastatic BC September 2015 in the lung, pleura and bone.
The scan I had this month shows progression to liver, left breast and axilla lymph node. There is also some suggestion of something in my uterus. Apart from some pain and discomfort in my back and right side, which maybe due to pleura effusions reoccurring following removal of PleurX catheters, I do not have any new symptoms. My oncologist examined me yesterday and couldn't find anything obvious on palpitation.
I am having a ultrasound next week to have a better look at my left breast and axilla area.
I am trying to get as much information prior to starting Taxol and I was very interested in the mention of using CBD oil for Neuropathy caused by the treatment. Where to purchase some, it's effectiveness and whether it has been recommended by your respective oncologist.
My younger sister is still suffering from neuropathy following FEC+T chemo. last year so another reason for my interest in this treatment. Ann
re the sugar, yes, its a toughiexx ...the bc cells have either 29 or 39 ( cant recall) sugar receptors on the outside cell wall, so they obviously need sugar to function.
I spoke to a fellow patient the other week who has bern told that chemo wise there was not much left she can have...she is now on a regime of No Sugar at all, high intake of leafy grerns esp broccolli and kail, high garlic, ginger, some vit C and a few other foodies....She is doing quite well( better than she was) I think we cant risk either dropping traditional meds; or adding that regime without checking with the drug information line first....but I know there is a tablet supplement out which contains all those ingredients....can be found in independent health food shops. Need to speak to your onc too before incorporating new stuff like that.
good luck with the treatment plan everyonexx
a penny farthing might lift your spirits and gain you some new friends....my knees are 150 years older than the rest of me, so cycling is a nono...xx
have been away, so missed your last few posts. Thank you for the cbd oil info.
getting back to your bum...,was thinking...just a few thoughts here....if the soreness is outside, have you tried
applying vaseline every time? The other thing is...and im not quite sure where I heard this.....but it makes sense to me, so you could try it...bepanthen nappy rash cream 'apparently' numbs the area as well as being a really good barrier cream.....the soreness you are getting, is akin to a nappy rash so it makes sense to use baby wipes round that bit or baby oil on cotton wool, to clean rather than loo paper..... If the soreness is inside...check with the doctor before trying this, but maybe try haemorrhoid cream sometimes.....you might have some which are getting enflamed by everything
sorry if you already knew all this xxx
(and I wish id mentioned it all earlier, but I have been feeling a bit overtired......am better this evening.)
hope you are feeling a bit better tooxx
