I am learning to take each day as it comes,now I'm on the 5 years of medication I am experiencing a lot of the side effects..... In constant pain aching joints. I did not realise how much an impact Cancer has on your life, I want to go back to work but I don't know how I will cope with all the pain etc.

That's great news. I understand how much you have gone through but you had bc and now your cancer free. My mum's been bc free for about 10yrs now. Everything is back to normal. It was horrible back then. Nothing felt normal and she wanted us arguing like we used to. She wanted normality. When my dad was diagnosed with Lung cancer I was struggling to deal with it. I was going through it with him but we took each day as it came.

I had my lumpectomy on 13 December 2012, yes I had the cancer removed with clear margins,then I had 6 rounds of chemotherapy (every 3 weeks)I was having FECT (the name of my chemo drugs),then I was meant to have 15 radiotherapy sessions with 3 booster treatments,but I ended up having 15 sessions and 5 booster treatments and now I'm taking anastrozole medication for 5 years.

I hope you find comfort with the drop in centre. my mum had breast cancer, lumpectomy and radiotherapy and that was 10yrs ago. Sometimes I forget she's even had it. It was really hard. Mum was struggling at times and she got through it and so will you. Things have changed since then. Better treatment. This website has brought me alot of comfort. I'm at high risk and It scares me. The people I can't talk to about it is family and I don't know why. But even though it scares me I look at my dad and realise what he went through wen he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. You will get through it x

Hello Sailed_penquin, I've just been diagnosed too. Should get my biopsy results today. I'm so calm I think I'm in denial. It's hard to get your head around isn't it. I've looked for support groups near me, none as usual. I hope your drop in Centre helps you.

Thank you Jane,Ive just started going to a drop in Cancer centre in our town. Its so hard as I dont know anyone who has gone thro bc or who is going thro it. I feel sorry for my Husband and my 19 year old Son.

Hi, I don't have bc but my mum was diagnosed with it 10yrs ago and she got through it. It is really hard. I don't have bc but my family go through it and so do I. If you ever need any one to talk to I'm here and I'm sorry for the late reply I've just registered.
