Sunburn like blisters from masectomy

Re: Sunburn like blisters from masectomy

Hi Helen

Reconstruction was delayed, i had an expander.  The skin did eventually heal but was fragile for a long time.

Surgery was April May and June 2013.  Expander exchanged and left breast lifted and reduced October 2013.

Hi Butterfly thank you for your reply , did you have to have to have the op again because of this , or was your reconstruction delayed?

Helen

I hope this continue to improve.  I had a very similar experience.  I had never had surgery previously or any dressing applied.  The Consultant said she thought i was allergic to the dressings.  Following this i had further surgery and reconstruction my records show only Opsite Clear dressings to be used and this hasn't happened since.

Sunburn like blisters from masectomy

Hi , 10 days ago I had my double masectomy and immediate reconstruction , I had my drains removed and I asked them to put another dressing on , yesterday I went to have a shower I pulled off the dressing and it has taken away some of my skin with it , leaving me with what looks like weepy sunburn . I went back to the hospital and they have given me some cream to apply twice a day, as anyone else had this experience with after surgery?
