WOW Twinny congratulations on your run. Saw all the pics in the paper but couldnt even imagine doing that yet. Brilliant weight loss too. Still trying to lose a bit more...but up and down.
Anyone want to join me in a hard push before Christmas meals start...would like to lose another 7 to 10 pounds!

Hi Ladies
It’s been a while since I posted here but it's exactly a year now since I decided it was time to lose weight and get fit after finishing chemo; having gained 2 ½ stone! I am pleased to report in that time I have now lost a total of 3 stone and a couple of weeks ago ran the Great South Run …mission accomplished! It has been a big turn around from a year ago. I have been greatly helped by this thread in losing the last and hardest stone…so many thanks to all.
Hi Judy
I live in Cowplain but daughter goes to school at Fareham where most of her friends live which is why I seem to be constantly on the M27 in taxi mode.
I work on hill (QinetiQ), so just above you?
I am finding the weight loss biz a bit hard at moment but I am intending to shake this feeling off and just get on with it (she says).
Who is your consultant?

Not logged in for a while and have just baked a lovely chocolate cake. Will try to get motivated for the party dress season.
Do you live in Fareham Browner? I'm just along the hill a bit, under the fort. In a house not in the bushes 🙂 So pleased your lump was benign. My bone mass is still inconclusive so having a second CT scan in 8 weeks. The worry they put us ladies through its no wonder we eat!
Love to you all Judy x
Hi browner here.
I have stayed the same this week after having too much wine after my good news about my new lump. I have been out for a 3 mile walk this morning and feeling positive about the week ahead.
Just going to pick mt daughter up from Fareham and I bet she will say "can we go to ASK for lunch". There goes the diet again!
Onwards and upwards.

That’s excellent news Browner. It must be such a relief…I’m so pleased for you. I think a glass (or 2) of wine will definitely be in order!
Weight wise…I put on a few pounds and lost a few over the last couple of weeks. When I weighed this morning I’ve lost 1lb since last checking in.
Hi Browner here again. The results of my biopsy were BENIGN!
My husband and I are in a state of shock as I had a really bad feeling about it. It's great news and a few glasses of wine are required to celebrate!
Browner here. I lost 0.5lbs this week. I had thought that I had done quite well but never mind it is still a loss!
Getting my results tonight from the hosptial....fingers crossed.

Hi Browner, welcome home wishing you a speedy recovery and good news! I didnt weigh in last week as I thought I was the only one still playing and had gained a few pounds!
Joined the RC diet and fitness club a week ago and will post my updated weight tomorrow evening.
I think we all need a good push to shed a bit more before the party season starts 🙂 Hang on in there ladies!

Hi browner here. Just returned from the hospital after having another lump removed. Feeling just a bit tired and now having what seems like a very long wait for the results.
Had some good news this week.....I have lost 2.5lbs
Come on girls we are doing so well!!

Hi Ladies
Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve reported in and updated the website. I’ve been recuperating after the tweaking operation to my recon boob and then had a relaxing holiday in Dorset. Over the last 2 weeks I had gained 1 lb (boo!); with little hope of losing this week as I’m off on a work trip for the rest of the week…Hotel food and wine is so yummy how can I resist!
Hi Christiane – I hope you are well? I wouldn’t get too excited over my magic lunch….and don’t laugh…but it consists of 4 x ryvita with butter and marmite, then I have a bag of the weight watchers crips followed for dessert by a Special K bar! I have the same every weekday at work. It seems to work for me as I eat each ryvita individually and so it seems like I’ve eaten loads by the time I’ve crunched through that lot!
Browner – I hope all goes Ok with the lump removal; let us know how you get on? You’re doing really well with your weight loss, but make sure you concentrate on your recovery this week.
Welcome aboard Jellylegs and Leucite! Weigh in days tend to be Wednesday or Thursday. I do a little weight loss chart most weeks (we don’t track weight gains only concentrate on the positive losses!) If you want to join in let me know and I’ll send you the link so you can take a look.
Now for the good news....Big Drum roll, if you please……
***** Altogether the group has lost a total of 2 stone! Hooray for us! *****
Hi girls, can I join your club?
I was dx in July and have had surgery and just started chemo. I lost nearly a stone last year on WW and now have put it all back on through comfort eating. So far on chemo I have stayed static but the static is too high and I can't get into my fattest of clothes which is demoralising. I need to lose some before the dreaded tamoxifen piles more stones on.
Any tips anyone? I am on WW online which is good but I have less than zero will power at the moment so I am just not bothering. Has anyone tried hypnotherapy for this?
Helen.
Started tamoxifen 27th august and in that week put on 3 pounds. Was really gutted as am doing slimming world and had been following the diet and thought oh great tamox is gonna undo all my previous good work. Well Im delighted to say following week I lost 4lbs and got weighed yesterday and lost another 3lbs so cant blame tamox now (for now anyhow ) 😄
Browner here.....saw consultant last night and had scan. They think it is a fatty lump. Having it removed next week and take it from there. Not sure if I am relieved or not.
Hi, I've tried really hard and only lost 1 lb! But only 5 weeks post op and just started Tamoxifen. Hope to lose more next week. I love the weight watcher hot choc though. (Asda) I still need that chocy hit..
Twinny - in your comment on 3rd September, what is your magic lunch that your colleagues laugh at? The regime may suit me! I'm not having much luck with my own.
Congratulations on getting to a 10 stoner! X
Oh Browner I am sorry to hear your news...keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Well done on your weight loss. Still static at 10 stone 7 here....will try harder this week.
Judy
Browner here....sorry but I forgot to weigh in last week. I lost 2lbs and it was hard work. I thought that I may have lost 1 but 2 was a great bonus. However, we have had a c&&p few days in the browner household....I have found another lump and am going to see the surgeon on Friday. As everyone says, it's the waiting that becomes so unbearable. Anyway, chins up I am now off to work.

Ok ok I confess to having gained 3 pounds on my cruise! Will weigh in on Wednesday as usual. How can anyone refuse scones and cream at 3 each afternoon?
Welldone all your girlies with your losses!
Know how you feel gingery. I started Tam just over a week, am doing slimming world diet and stuck to it religiously and have put on 3 lbs this week grrrrrr. Hope the weight isnt going to pile on again.
Morning Ladies,
Home alone so needed to vent my spleen a little to someone.
Been dieting for quite a whie now (put on 10lb during treatment), I lost the first 5lbs about 3 months ago and have been having good diet weeks and then bad but this last 7 days have been sticking to weight watchers religiously, even under my points some days and been to the gym 3 times for 1 hour 15 mins work out (been doing this for 3 weeks) and yes.........I've put on 2 pounds.
I give up
Hi there, I recently went for a free health check under something the NHS in Scotland call the "Keep Well" programme for 45-65 year olds. They look at your general health and anything in you family (my brother is type 2 diabetic) and it is geared towards reducing the risk of heart problems - as you probably all know the stats for Scotland on this are dire compared to other parts of the country.
Anyway, I asked about weight loss as I'd like to lose 2 stones and I was given a referral to attend one of 2 pharmacies for monitoring. I went yesterday and they give you a load of advice and leaflets. You have to initially agree to lose 5% of your body weight over the first 3 months, then they up it to 10% because they monitor you for a year. You have to go and get weighed every 2 weeks and they said some of the weigh ins and advice sessions are done by NHS dieticians. I'm giving it a go as it's free and I don't want to join a club (been to WW and SW and hated all the applause for losing half a pound; WW just made me obsessed by food). In my case it works out at 11 lbs over 12 weeks for the first bit.
This scheme is called Counterweight and I know it's been running in parts of England and Wales for a couple of years now. In some places HA's take people in small groups, others are like mines where you see a practice nurse or go to a pharmacy (I was seen in private btw). There is a website at http://www.counterweight.org if anyone is interested. I just think it's better than paying to get weighed every week and it revolves round ordinary foods and the best choices.
Hi, I'd like to join your group please, its just the thing I was looking for has I have already put on 7lb since dx 6 weeks ago!!
I felt very sorry for myself at first and ate and drank things I'd avoided for years. Now post opp, rads to follow soon I want to get back to my positive self and back in that new dress I bought !!
Have just started to take tamoxifin 2nd day
Which day do you weigh in?
Jellylegs.
Yippee, another 1 lb this week. I’m pleased to say I’ve joined the 10stoners and feel really pleased with myself. It’s been great as I’ve gone to put on clothes that I haven’t put on for a few weeks and they don’t fit anymore!. So I went through my wardrobe last week and have packed up all the clothes that don’t fit me and have a new wardrobe consisting of my old size 14’s and have brought some new ones too…hehe.
Ideally I would like to lose another 5 lbs…that would take me to 10 and a 1/2 stone. I’ll keep at it. I’ve found a formula that seems to suit me…it involves lots of restrictions during the week and lots of exercise. Work colleagues laugh at me because I bring in the same lunch everyday – no variation, but I like it and its working.
I have my ‘tweaking’ procedure on Monday to balance my reconstructed breast with my normal one, so I’m beginning to feel slightly nervous and have got my fingers crossed for a good result.
Well done Browner that’s great.
Hi all
I thought that I had had a dreadful week on the diet front but had kept up with the exercise. To my surprise I have lost 2.5 lbs! To celebrate I think a glass of wine is in order.

Hi
It’s me reporting in again. Things are back on track and I’m happy to report a further 1lb loss. Getting there…slowly!
Hi all
This is browner reporting back after hols. I have stayed the same. It was very hot is Spain so didn't feel the need to eat that much but was i thirsty (wine beer spirits).
Back on the staight and narrow now. I feel quite inspired!
See you next week
browner
Hi
Well, following a wonderful weekend away including the eating of an ice cream sundae the size of my head! I thought I’d leave it as long as possible before reporting in. I’m pleased to say due to starvation techniques applied during the week, I’m the same weight as last week…pheew
Well done Twinny, and hope you are enjoying your break Browner.
I have lost nothing again despite trying hard. I'm off on my hols for 2 weeks on Monday so will miss the next 2 weigh ins.
My next weigh in will be first Wed in September.........good luck girls xxx
Hi All
I am on holiday in Spain without scales! Well done to those who have lost weight this week. I will be jumping on the scales on Sunday morning (with my eyes firmly shut).

Morning all…
So pleased, a further 1 lb down, that’s me hitting a 7lb total since we started. One more pound and I’ll be into new territory with the 10 stoners. What stands between me and my goal…a long weekend in Nice! Hummm I suspect a weight gain coming on next week! So near and yet so far! Still I think you’ll all agree that after going through what we have and not knowing what the future holds, living life to the full is essential. So if I put on a few pounds over the weekend I’ll just have to deal with it when I get back!
Good luck to everyone else.
Nothing for me, been cheating!

Unfortunately I am not appearing on the chart at the moment - too much comfort eating. Husband says its lack of self control! He's probably right!!
I love trifle... dont worry if you've put weight on. I did a 2 day bike ride for charity and i put weight on!
today is my second day without chocolate or wine in the evening... I am just taking it day by day at the moment. I need to loose a stone by christmas.
where is this chart you have mentioned?
Hello Twinny 2.
Please continue with the site.
I have not reported back for a week or two because I am too ashamed! I've gained a few pounds and am now heavier than I started!! I don't believe it!!!
I know I am not trying hard enough. My sister makes lovely trifles and I am not strong-willed enough. It is by looking at your site and seeing how well the others have done, it just might make me stronger-willed.
Another 1 lb loss for me... whoopee.
I love your chart too Twinny shows success!!!!!!!
Have a great holiday Browner.
Hi twinny2
Yes, please continue with the site it is most useful. It gives this weight loss malarky a sense of purpose.
I am going on my hols on wednesday so will not be weighing in for a couple of weeks after this Wednesday.
Bye

I came off tamoxifen in November and I have put more weight on since - so I dont think you can tell how your body will react to things.
I am now a stone over weight and cant seems to stop eating chocolate. also I am not exercising as much. Keep eating healthily and exercising if possible.
Hi Gocat
Oh I hope I didn’t scare you? Different ladies seem to have different side effects with tamoxifen and weight gain seems to be one of them (Sorry I don't know why). I’m actively trying to loose weight and am being successful, although I have found it more difficult this time around being on Tamoxifen….but I’d rather be on it with side effects than risk a reoccurrence!
Good luck with the lump removal and hopefully you’ll be Ok with Tamoxifen.
Thanks Jo 🙂
Hi gocat,
I've put for you below the link to BCC's publication regarding Tamoxifen, hope it helps.
Kind regards,
Jo, Facilitator
Oh no. Is it inevitable that one puts on weight with Tamoxifen? I've lost 3 stone over the past 3 years since my hip replacement. Dont want to put it all back on.
Im having lump from left breast removed next Monday and then doctor said I will be on Tamoxifen for 5 years.
How does it make you put on weight. Does it make you feel hungrier or does it slow down your metabolism?
Hi ladies
I have updated the website of weight loss results. As there have been ladies away on holiday etc or may have missed a few weeks if anyone feels their losses are incorrect on the site just let me know what you think they should be and I’ll amend.
Does anyone look at the site and find it useful? I really don’t mind updating it but if it’s not being used should I continue? Please let me know...
Hi all
This browner reporting a 1lb loss. Seems like lose 1, gain 1, lose 1 etc. There seems to be a pattern here.
I am going on holiday to spain next week for 2 weeks so will report back on 19 Aug. Wish me luck
Well done to those that lost weight this week.

Morning ladies and congratulations Twinny on your loss. I have found in last few years that Next are cutting their clothes smaller!
I weighed in at 10 stone 6 this morning. Not sure if that is a loss or gain as have been quite ill for 2 weeks. I know its a 9 pound loss since we started.
Keep up the healthy eating ladies x
Hello Ladies
I’m pleased to report a 1 lb loss this week. Boy is this hard and being on Tamoxifen doesn’t help! I hope the thread that says Nolvedex D is being discontinued is not true as this brand is the one that suits me best. At the moment I’m loosing weight but not at a great rate and the fear that another Tamoxifen brand may affect this and may even increase my weight is a real pain. To be honest during the week there are days when I eat less calories than I’ve burned and the result is still a mere 1 lb loss a week….What does a girl need to do!
However on a positive note, I have visited 'Next' and have purchased a couple of items size 14, which is my goal…..some of their stuff is still a little to tight, but fingers crossed that in a few weeks they’ll all fit OK.
Not a good week for me this week either. I've had two curries in a week and it's taken its toll. A 2 lb gain. (It's been comfort eating because I have a very poorly dog.)
