Hi Everyone, I am day 4 post surgery and took my stockings off yesterday as they were cutting in and doing more harm then good. If you take them off, just make sure you keep flexing your foot as if you were walking. This is equally as good as the stockings, if you are walking around regularly you will be fine. If you are not very mobile at all then keeping them on would be a good idea. Just be aware of any pain that you may experience in the calf area particularly. Just keep moving around as much as you are able 🙂 Hope your all recovering well. Lynda xx
Hellooo
I was told to keep them on for 2 weeks- horrible things but am doing as told (unusual for me!!)
I am fortunate because i have a pair from my Lymph Node biopsy.
Had drain removed yesterday - felt much better after that, today I have just managed an escorted walk to end of road and back (not very far)
Have had pain controll problems but seems OK now.

I didnt have any advice either, wore mine in hospital and took them off to come home.
Did wonder afterwards as was still laying around a lot. However had no problems and district nurses never commented.

Hi Sarah
I was told two weeks too. Had a pair of heavy duty flight socks which I wore while the hospital ones were being washed.Just rinsed them out, they took no time to dry. Yay for drain removal!
Love, Rose xx
sarah I was told 2 weeks they gave me an extra pair so I had one to wash and one to wear hugs Sandra
