Yes .I must make the effort to buy the difficult presents. The ones for my women friends that I love and just want to buy them something small to amuse or delight them with. I have bought the easy ones.

At my dads funeral last year his two very good friends in there late 70's came to blow's. i am sure my old dad was up there smiling down.

Thank you girls enormously for your wonderful messages. Am OK - service went very well - just family and very close medical friends (my husband was a doctor). Sadly his sister got totally trashed plus stepson's girlfriend who we have never even met but such is life and I suppose it would have made a good soap opera. Am sure Alistair enjoyed it

My Mom died 6/2007 and I still miss her and think of her daily
the best advice I can give is to NOT let recriminations or guilt get the better of you and embrace their memories with open arms
When my Dad died in 2003, my Mom found this quote:

"To live in the hearts of those we love...is to never die"

so I keep it now in my study for both of them!
