Hi, I am new to this forum and can’t find a thread on this.
I was wondering if anyone had experience of taking tamoxifen to reduce their lump prior to surgery and how successful that was.
If I was to have surgery now I would require a mastectomy, however was given this option to try and avoid that and have a lumpectomy.
We agreed I had nothing to lose in trying this option as cancer is stage 1.

My Bc surgeon considered reducing my lump before surgery but the onco said the effect would be minimal. I opted for mastectomy after reading that lumpectomy doesn’t always work and may need more surgery. Do research and make decision that is best for you.
