Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hi Mowser sorry to hear that you are emotional at the moment so snap we're both the same sore back pain, freezing cold & not going out anywhere tonight lol. Nice to get chatting to people on here. Take care & sending big hugs to you xxx Happy New Year & all the best for 2015. Maxine.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Thanks both, I did mention that I had Stage 4 breast cancer and needed hot water for baths to ease my back pain and heating was essential-he didnt give a fig.

I got a bit emotional on the phone (anything tips me over the edge these days!) but he said all appointments were booked , no one was working tomorrow so Friday was the earliest.

I have bought 5 bags of logs, a fan heater and am wearing thermal socks, a onesie and a nightdress and have a hot water bottle. Still not fully warm!! Just put another duvet on the bed. Back is hurting and what i would normally do is soak in a bath for an hour or so-it really makes a difference. These things are sent to try us.

Not going out tonight, going to snuggle up with the dogs and try to stay warm....

Happy New year to you all, lots of hugs from Mowser xxx

P.S. Lynnq, we planning to try to get to Maritius!! Now that is something to lookm forward to!!

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Yes, like Helen mentions I think there is something called the priority services register and, I think, all the providers have to put those eligible, us, at the top of the list for call outs, re connections, faults. Stay warm all. X and a Happy New Year. X

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Mowser, are you with British gas? Tell them you are on chemo and need heating as it's an emergency. They will have people to mend your heating.
Hugs,Helen xxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Oh Mowser what a rotten time you have had over the last couple of years.....hope you manage to keep warm until they can fix your heating, try lighting a few candles they won't throw out much heat but they do give a nice rosy glow.....
Whatever you decide to do this evening I hope that you can enjoy it......things have been bad but try to look forward.
Sorry you've got a bit of a wait until you get results, and like you say it is difficult to put it to the back of your mind. Perhaps booking and planning your holiday will help...where are you hoping to go?
All the best. Xx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hi ladies!!

How are we all on this cold and frosty morning? I have woken to find no heating and no hot water. Called boiler people-no one 'til Friday can come fix it. It's freezing in my house and I am really, really cold. 😞

Buying a lot of logs and hunkering down into the front room and keeping fire lit for next two days...

Going for lunch out, and not sure what am doing for New Years Eve.

Have had an invite to a local party plus there is something else I could go to, but this year I am really not that bothered! Last year was a disaster for me, (Car crash that totalled my car, whiplash, bulging disc as a result, Secondary bc diagnosis, partner had a massive heart attack and nearly died), the year before was a disaster too-broke my leg. Don't want to tempt fate and toast this New Year-just let it in quietly!!

Won't know whether this new treatment is doing anything for me until Jan 15th so have another anxious wait. Cant tell if it is, still getting liver pain and bloating  😞  Nothing I can do for now, just have to try to put it to the back of my mind.

Whatever you are doing, have a wonderful New Year's Eve with your loved ones. One big win is my sister has agreed to daughter, house and dog sit so can book this bloody holiday! Had intended to book before Xmas but got thrown by the news that the treatment I was on (Cape) had stopped working. Am determined to get away somewhere hot.

have a great evening and rest of the day. From a very cold and miserable Mowser

Hugs to all xxxxxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hi all,

Checking in on Boxing Day.

Yesterday was lovely but soooo tiring!! Ended up asleep on sofa by 9pm and couldn't move!! Managed a dog walk earlier which I was really happy about..

Off to my sister to celebrate Boxing Day-can take dogs with me this time (they are normally banned) Had slices of cold Lamb and Toblerone for breakfast! Gotta love Christmas...

Hope all you lovely ladies are OK, try to have as restful a day as possible-let others do the work! Especially you, Chocolates-I would insist on the anti biotics. No question you need something to help fight it if it has gone on for this long.. Take care lovely lady.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Sorry I missed you yesterday evening.  My laptop had developed a fault but I now have a reconditioned one to get me through to New Year. The shop will then put my files onto this one if old one not working.

Also I had been mixing my Jelly Babies - Yellow - Gin & a slice, Green - Vodkha & lime, Orange - Cointreau.

Purple - Casis, Red - Mulled Wine and clear - Forgotten!!!!

I had been out earlier in the evening to a church service at a local Rest Home, and I still get very tired recovering from the complications of surgery.

The acites has stopped leaking through the scar line and is being absorbed by the body, I rang Onc's sec on Tues because I had put on 1/2 Stone in a week and girth had increased, I am eating but not that much!!

Got a call back and see Onc next Monday 29th - It will be good to know the timescale of going back on  chemo and which one this time.

Many thanks to all you wonderful ladies who have helped me stay positive. Thankyou for the encouragement to get PIP at higher rate, it came through while I was in Hospital. So good to be able to keep heating on as I live in an old house and to be able to get taxis even just for short journeys.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hello lovely ladies and it's been so nice to read through everyone's posts this evening and feel I belong to such a fantastic, supportive group of amazing people 🙂 I will be raising a glass to you all in a moment but I have enjoyed a crisp walk back from our local pub where we met some friends and had a glass of wine - so I am pacing myself 😉 Forgot/missed Santa/Space station earlier which is a disappointment but my YD and I were very busy in the kitchen making sure that tomorrow is hassle free and reading - something I hope for all of you. Merry Christmas.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

I second that Chocolates!

It has been a busy couple of days!! We went to our annual Xmas Pantomime last night-my 25 year old son and 22 year old daughter still enjoy it as much as when they were little!. 'Oh no they don't, Oh yes they do!!!'

Have finished wrapping presents, and now sitting in a soft, cosy armchair watching the snowflakes falling gently outside the window. Think its settling this year. The xmas tree is twinkling with fairy lights, and smells of pine, and presents, and love, for all of you.

I have managed to get my nails done!! So they look pretty ready for Xmas Day. A dark Blueberry colour. All the presents are wrapped, soon to be placed under the tree. Have poured myself a glass of Baileys with ice, and I am snuggling up, cosy and warm as toast, thinking of you all, and wishing you the happiest, comfortable, most peaceful and fun time with your cherished family and friends.

You are all such strong amazing women, and I feel such a lot of love for all of you, even though we have never met. Your warmth, care, understanding shines out of your posts and the thought that I am sharing this journey, gives me so much strength. Thankyou, all of you, for being the wonderful women you are, and for always BEING THERE.

Love and Christmas Hugs to you alll- I am raising my glass right now and thinking of you all.

Lots of love

Mowser xxxx

Will check in later to say a final night night before bed!!

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

First drop in of the evening for me. Oh it's so perfect here - GC and DC - gosh I am so spoilt. The snow has really built up over the last couple of days - it just looks so perfect. Again, I can't seem to sit anywhere else apart from the armchair - fire is roaring and the baileys is lovely. Just taking time to think about all of you lovely ladies and how much I've appreciated your support and wise words this year. No ones journey is straight forward, and most people just don't get us but you all get me. You know exactly what to say at the right time. For that ladies I'm just so grateful. I'm raising my glass to all of us and of course for those shining in the sky.
We're all so special xxxxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hi all,

Even though I don't post here that often I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very healthy year to come.

I would also like to thank you all for being there to help me through the tough times dealing with my breast cancer. The knowledge I got from this forum is phenominal and a special thank you to Helen who private message throughout the year to keep me going.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Wishing all of you a very happy Christmas and all the very best for the New Year.  Thinking of you all as I sip my pink champagne (well, it is my birthday!).  Did any of you see the International Space Station as it crossed the sky just now?  I may be a geek, but it really made my day.  With much love from the Cake Lady x

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Raising a glass to everyone here, may you have a peaceful, happy Christmas with family & friends & improved health in 2015. Thank you for being there, love Helen xx

Hello Belinda, thanks so much for the coffee and mince pie. Delicious! They finally let us go at 3.30-nearly a full day as I start at 8.00 and finish at 4.00pm. Oh well, at least I'm out now and can join you all later. Hugs, Barton.x

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Raising a glass to you all early today as I'm just back from my Christmas chemo and having a rest before trying to feed, bathe, and coax a very excited 2 year old into bed!! So very grateful to you all, including the lovely folks who run the forum, for your support this year.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a happy 2015. Cheers xxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Bev, I hope your chest infection clears up rapid and you have a lovely Christmas. I had my chemo yesterday and I dreaded it as I felt pretty I'll all last week following my last dose, but I don't feel too bad! Strange isn't it.

He did give me the option of missing this one but I have missed a few with being  ill with my calcium so i wanted to have it.

Hope everyone is getting over their viruses and is able to enjoy themselves. Am keeping off the strong stuff with just having chemo but there will be Champagne on the table tomorrow that's for sure.😀

Xxxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

PS: Saw Onc at clinic today...examined my chest...sent me for xray...i still have the chest infection! So more antibiotics, a course of steroids for my breathing (prednisolone)and ... NO CHEMO on Saturday! Deferred till next friday! xxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hello, everybody - I'm stuck at work at the moment!  We were told a few days ago we would probably be released at 2.00pm, but now they are saying we have to stay until 3.00pm until the big boss emails everyone that they can go!  DEVASTATED!  Oh well, better make the most of it - trouble is, we have piles of backlogged work, so we can't even just mingle and enjoy the day! I'll try and join you lovely ladies later. Must go now, work calls!  Love and hugs to everyone.   Barton.x
