The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Well we have just put up Christmas Tree and decorated lounge and I must say I am beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. We didn't celebrate much last year as I was waitinfg for major surgery and was in a very dark place mentallyMan Sad

Have just 4 exchanged Christmas cards with my wonderful partner and we have both chosen Identical cards lol. That just about sums up our special relationship.

Woman Very Happy

Can anyone tell me if its ok to have a drink whilst on Capecitabine , I have one on my free 7 days but just wondered if it would be ok to have Christmas drink.Man Tongue

Wishiing you all Happy Saturday

Love and hugs

Hi girls!  Great idea 🙂 tho I almost missed this thread, I wonder if BCC mods could make it a temporary sticky thread?? (and let's have a toast to those BCC techies who make this Forum possible, they deserve a peaceful Christmas too.)

Cards are written (mostly) and starting to come in, good to read news of friends and family far and near.  Cake made (good old Delia) marzipanned but not yet iced, there'll be plenty for you all on Christmas Eve.  Found collection of seasonal CDs, so here's some background music: John Rutter, Carols from King's College Chapel, arrangements by a lovely harpist from Eastbourne including "Walking in the Air" from "The Snowman", good old Cliff... mistletoe (used by some as an anticancer treatment) and wine :), on the day before Saviour's Day, we'll raise up our glasses and drink to the King...

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Welcome bazcas, here's the comfy sofa by the fire for you, a drink and a mince pie. X
Bev, ah I loved Morecambe and Wise, especially the Christmas specials. I try and watch the Christmas Good Life before Dec 25th, have the DVD. Also loved the Richard Briers spin off, Ever Decreasing Circles.
The old stuff is the best. 🙂 x

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Belinda.. i remember that episode of The Good Life well ...so funny. They dont make comedies like that anymore! Remember all the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise xmas specials too?
Xmas holidays always seemed to last longer then xxxxxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Oh the gingerbread men look pretty and it's ages, five minutes, since I ate a mince pie, thank you, yum. 😉
A Christmas tree in a church near me has little paper hearts you can write on in memory of a loved one and hang on a branch. It's always covered in hearts very quickly.
Christmas films, I love The Snowman and showing my age, the Christmas episode of The Good Life when Harrods doesn't deliver Margo and Jerry's complete Christmas order, food, drinks.
Is anyone Christmassy reading? Somehow some children's classics, The Railway Children, Heidi and The Secret Garden fell into my Amazon basket for me. A distraction from a January Onc appointment.
Have to say DC makes a lovely fluffy scrambled egg on buttery toast!

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Helen....love and hugs and.. here....im passing you your glass of mulled wine so we can raise our glasses to those lovely lost angels while watching the snowflakes fall. Cheers!

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

What a great idea - I'm just dropping off some freshly baked mince pies and stopping to admire the tree. Be back another time for a hot chocolate with a cheeky shot of baileys xxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Bev,if you don't mind I'll come and sit with you. I need a bit of thinking time in a nice peaceful settling a bit emotional today.
I love it's a wonderful life too. Yes,we need some bells on the tree for our angels who sadly got their wings.
Oh bev, look out of the window it's starting to snow,it's going to be beautiful here for our party.
Yes,we need to keep this thread going every Christmas and gather here for many years to come.
Snowy hugs,Helen xxxx

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Oooh chocolates....gingerbread men are yummy!
Can i settle by the log fire too with a glass of mulled wine and breathe in the scent of pine needles and cinnamon?
Nothing nicer than snuggling up and watching Its a Wonderful Life. The great Jimmy Stewart.. aaah.
This Xmas the line "every time a bell rings an Angel gets his wings" is even more moving.....

Followed by big belly laughs of Chevvy Chase in National Lampoons Xmas Vacation. Watch it every year and still laugh just as loud!
Here's to us all and may we gather round this log fire again next year. 💖💖💖

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

That fire is so lovely - just sat down in the armchair after a long and tiring day. Being a bit naughty with a g&t, ice and slice. Going down a bit too quickly. Some carol singers have just stopped by, brought tears to my eyes as such a lovely pure sound. The stars are twinkling aren't they? Belinda - it's such a safe, warm and lovely place to be. DC has just arrived fresh from filming and sitting by the fire on a rug with a nice glass of red wine. It's just so peaceful. Right I better go as I'm about to nod off - going to make another g&t to keep me going. Have added some gingerbread men to the tree which I iced earlier - one for all of us!

Oh, you have made it cosy Belinda 🙂 Looking forward to dropping in from time to time before Christmas Eve and then will join everyone of my friends to celebrate the festive season. Currently in hospital having my 6th docetaxol/pertuzamab/Herceptin - definitely not as nice as at Belinda's but at least I get a sit down and a cuppa after a hectic few days Christmas shopping and going out for the day with ED for her birthday this week with YD as well, a nice girly day 🙂

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Ah,Belinda, that so brings back childhood memories the highlighter pen and radio times. I still do it now too! Hope we can all work out the RT Christmas picture quiz,as rather difficult this year.
The tree is full of stars shining brightly for each special lady.
Bing is at the piano singing I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Olaf is there waiting for warm hugs.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Just popping out to M&S to get a lemon drizzle cake so while I'm there I'll find a nice Christmas cake to bring! LD x

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Ah the Christmas tree smells lovely. Dots some furry throws around and leaves a stack of Christmas Radio Times, (with highlighter pens!) by the window seat with the plump cushions.
Sloe Gin replenished. 🙂

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Happy Christmas !!!!
I will be there with you all, sitting round the log fire !!!! A glass of sloe gin for everyone to warm the cockles of their hearts!!!!!! And a mince pie in the other !!!!

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

I'll get mr twinkly eyes to make us some more.
The tree is in the other corner so we all need to put some stars and lights on it now.
Mulled wine ordered,oh you can smell those Christmassy aromas.
I've had a word with Santa and he said we can have some snow outside for us all to play in.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas ......

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Just leaving choc au pains (or is it pains au choc?) and hot buttered toast by the tea pot.

Re: The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Hi Jo, hope you helped yourself to a drink and a mince pie. 🙂 x
Christmas music, all sorts, all the Frozen tracks for Helen of course.
I must admit I have done more online shopping this year, partly because of where I live, there is a real lack of blue badge spaces. X

The Secondary Christmas Drop in, Christmas Eve Party Thread.

Thought I had better start this sooner than later, Christmas is fast approaching. 🙂
If you are not a reader of the bone mets thread just to let you know some of us had the idea of a Christmas drop in thread for us Secondary posters with an online Christmas Eve party. So if you want to celebrate or express your worries and concerns over Christmas this thread, here, may be helpful?
Mince Pies, Baileys, Prosecco, Teas and Coffees are in the corner by the log fire, please do take a seat, I've just lit the tree...twinkle twinkle.
