Tight lump above lymph node incision

Hello there
I posted a couple of days ago about the searing pain I was having post surgery (lumpectomy and partial lymph node removal for biopsy) and so many of you were kind enough to reply. Now I have developed a hard lump, tight, and enormously painful to touch, right above the lymph incision. I saw my consultant today, and he says it can’t be drained as he doesn’t think there’s any fluid in it. He wasn’t very helpful, if I’m honest. Has anyone else had this? Does the body finally absorb it? What is it? Thank you. Any comments gratefully received.

hi stoic,i had a lemon sized lump above my snb scar appear about a week after surgery. very uncomfy and hard. my onc said it was a haematoma(sp?)a collection of blood? didnt need any treatment, gradually disappeared over about two weeks. hope that helps! alex xx

Hi Stoic

I had the same, it was like having a potato under my armpit! It went away of its own accord in about a week and the scar is now very neat and unobtrusive. Good luck
