Dear ThinLizzie

This sounds like something the helpline would be able to help you with.  If you wish, you can call them on our freephone number 0808 800 6000 and they are open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 10-2 on Saturdays.

Best wishes

Twinge & droopy breast after biopsy

Hi

I have had a MRI vacuum assisted biopsy at the beginning of August. I was very bruised (think aubergine!) and swollen after the biopsy. The bruise is fading and the swelling is completely gone. There is an egg sized lump left, which is getting smaller over time.

I am very grateful that the results from the biopsy was benign and I would definitely do the biopsy again, given the choice. I know I am being picky... but my breast is now noticeably droopy. Is this normal? It is almost as if the breast was punctured and a bit of air let out. 🙂

I am also experiencing a twinge, a sharp little pain every so often (about 5 or 6 times a day) directly next to the lump. I won't be able to say if it is over the spot where the marker was left, but someone mentioned to me that she was experiencing a twinge in the spot where her marker was left. Is this just normal healing or is the body still fighting to get rid of the marker?

I have another appointment at the breast clinic on 12 Sept, where I'll ask about this. But being impatient and curious, I was wondering if someone else knows or has experienced the same.
